“We are committed to providing Indian developers with high-quality, reliable job opportunities that align with the industry’s most sought-after skills. Our partnerships with CII and IIT are pivotal in building a robust pipeline of talent that is ready to meet global demand,” said Supercoder’s CEO Jay Choi. “In the future, we plan to gradually expand our talent field to include positions that do not require a physical presence in Korea, such as quality control (QA), product management, and marketing. We are confident and prepared for success, echo ISL Coaches at Kolkata Media Day to kick off 2024-25 season

The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Media Day began in Kolkata with representatives from seven clubs, i.e. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC previewing the upcoming season.

The event saw a blend of new and familiar faces, with Mohun Bagan’s Jose Molina and Punjab FC’s Panagiotis Dilmperis making their ISL debuts as head coaches, while veterans like Sergio Lobera, Khalid Jamil, Juan Pedro Benali, and Carles Cuadrat discussed their strategies for the campaign.

ISL - Preseason Media day

The discussions, however, began with the newly-promoted Mohammedan SC (httpswww.instagram.compC_fOobyM5tK) head coach Andrey Chernyshov expressing his pleasure at joining the ISL, with his captain Samad Ali Mallick underlining their ambitions to challenge for the playoffs straightaway.

“It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the ISL family. We did a great job last year by winning the I-League. I am thrilled about our supporters. They had been expecting this for many years. I can’t wait to get started with the league,” Chernyshov said.

Mohun Bagan, East Bengal confident for the season ahead

The two other Kolkata heavyweights are on their desired track ahead of the coming ISL campaign. Whilst the Mariners embark on the coveted title defence, East Bengal FC are bolstered by solid reinforcements to their squad in the summer.

“It’s a process to prepare the team for the ISL. We have been working together for a month and there are still a few things to improve upon. We are confident in our players and the way we have trained until now,” Jose Molina said.

East Bengal FC tactician Cuadrat overlooked comparisons from their sluggish start last year to insist confidently that his team will hit the ground running from their opening fixture this time around.

“It’s a different season with different players, and hence I wouldn’t like to compare to the last campaign, because every team is in a different situation as they were last time around. We have the complete squad with us and we will have to be competitive from day one,” Cuadrat said.

Lobera eyes ISL title with Odisha FC

Odisha FC, who finished fourth last season, are basking on their storied run across multiple competitions in 2023-24 to produce similarly impressive outings this year too.

“It’s been six years in India for me now. We had an amazing season last year, finishing at the top of the group in the AFC Cup. We were close to winning the Super Cup and we reached the ISL semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. It was an amazing run and we want to replicate that this year to put a smile on the faces of the fans,” Lobera said.

Challengers for the playoffs spots

The trio of Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and Jamshedpur FC had ignited an exciting late challenge for the playoffs last season, falling short at the final hurdle. Since then, the Highlanders have gone from strength to strength, winning the club’s first trophy with the Durand Cup last month.

“We are now starting to realise with what we did in the Durand Cup! But, now, we look forward to the ISL and there’s another story that’s waiting for us in the coming season. Trophies in the past don’t make you play better. You are only as good as your last game,” Benali mentioned.

Jamshedpur FC’s Khalid Jamil praised the ISL for bringing in new rules, such as the introduction of the concussion substitute, mandating an AFC Pro License holding (or equivalent) Indian assistant coach, amongst others. Considering that he is one of the two Indian head coaches in the ISL along with Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil said, “These new rules will help in the development of Indian football. We shall study it in detail and see how they could help us benefit during the course of the season as well.”

For Punjab FC, they have a new coach at helm in Greek tactician Panagiotis Dilmperis. The team has made some smart acquisitions in the transfer window and Dimperis expressed satisfaction at the same, whereas skipper Luka Majcen stressed upon the importance of a positive start.

“I am really lucky with all the players we have got in the Punjab FC roster. They are all great personalities and our aim is to achieve greater heights than we did last year,” Dimperis said.

The second day of the Media Day will feature Mumbai City FC, FC Goa, Chennaiyin FC, Bengaluru FC, Hyderabad FC, and Kerala Blasters FC in Kochi tomorrow. The ISL 2024-25 season will kick off on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 730pm IST on JioCinema and Sports18 network.

Bry-Air inaugurates check dam at Alwar as part of its CSR activity

National 5th September 2024: Bry-Air, a flagship company under the Pahwa Group, inaugurated a check dam at Bala Dehra village, Alwar as part of its CSR activity. The CSR project is part of the 60-year celebration of Bry-Air.

Alwar, being a semi-arid region, is continuously faced by the problem of the water crisis. Owing to this, the people of the place are highly dependent on the monsoon for farming activities. Considering that Bala Dehra village is situated at the foothills of the Aravalli Range in Alwar, the water problem is exacerbated, where people find it difficult to carry on the farming processes due to shortage of water and brief monsoon season ranging from June to August.

check

The construction of the check dam will benefit more than 2500 people in the region. Facilitating replenishment of nearby groundwater reserves and wells, the check dam will help in the cultivation of crops such as wheat, barley, and mustard over 50 (ha) agricultural land. In the process, it also comes with the capacity to recharge 10 open wells and 80 bore wells in the village.

Coming with the ability to capture and save rainwater, the check dams will contribute to recharging the groundwater level and increasing the availability of water, which will be a big boon for farmers. The entire project has been implemented in collaboration with Sapna NGO which saw the proactive involvement of the gram panchayat, including the villagers who were constantly part of the identification of the site for the construction of the check dam.

Mr. Deepak Pahwa, CMD, Bry-Air and Mrs. Vinita Pahwa, Director Bry-Air inaugurated the check dam as the chief guests of the program. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Mrs Anandita Pahwa, Head-CSR Initiative, Pahwa Group, Mr Sudhir Pratap Singh, General Secretary, Sapna NGO, Mrs. Krishna Sarpanch of Bala Dehra village and villagers of Bala Dehra village, Alwar.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Pahwa – Chairman, Pahwa Group & Managing Director, Bry-Air, said, “The construction of the check dam showcases our dedication to drive societal upliftment as a responsible organization. Fostering regional development, the project aims to improve the quality of life in the beneficiary communities. Where we have been previously involved in constructing check dams, and have been receiving positive result, with the inauguration of the new dam we aspire to create similar output.

The dam being the 5th check dam is part of Bry-Air’s continuous initiative that focusses on enhancing surface and underground water availability to boost agricultural productivity. By providing a more consistent source of water supply, the dam will facilitate the replenishment of groundwater reservoirs and wells. At the same time, by supplying water for agricultural and domestic use, it will offer a sustainable livelihood option where it will play a pivotal role in retaining the younger generation in farming over the years.”

The construction of the check dam can be considered a remarkable step towards addressing the perennial issue of water scarcity in the region. By harnessing the benefits of water conservation, the project will promote effective management of rainwater and ensure reliable water supply for agricultural needs and daily activities at the same time.

Godrej Vikhroli Cucina and Chef Ajay Chopra Present Nibbler’s Guide to Nugget Nirvana

Mumbai, 5th September 2024: Godrej Vikhroli Cucina, the culinary owned media property of the Godrej Industries Group, in partnership with renowned celebrity Chef Ajay Chopra, is on a mission to transform your nugget experience. Introducing the “Nibbler’s Guide to Nugget Nirvana”, a comprehensive manual to unravel the secrets to crafting the perfect nugget while avoiding common mistakes, featuring Godrej Yummiez Chicken Nuggets.

vc

Chef Chopra shares his expert tips for elevating the nugget experience:

  • Skip the thaw: Cook nuggets straight from the freezer for the crispiest bite.
  • Master the oil: Use about half an inch of oil in a pan and ensure it’s hot (but not smoking) before adding nuggets. If its too hot it will burn your nuggets and if it is not hot enough, then the nugget becomes greasy
  • The Temperature Hack: Dip a chopstick or a wooden spoon, if it starts bubbling then your oil is ready
  • Perfect the timing: Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Embrace the air fryer: For a healthier option, air fry frozen nuggets at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

This guide further adds Chef Ajay Chopra’s top 3 picks for dips beyond the ketchup like guacamole, creamy ranch, and sweet chili sauce. The Nugget Nirvana guide also focusses on the common issues in most households- left over meals. It comes with 2 creative recipes which repurposes leftover dal or gravy with crispy nuggets for innovative meals.

“People often forget how versatile nuggets can be. Through this guide, I want to inspire people to approach nuggets with a fresh perspective. Something as simple as oil depth or temperature can make or break your dish. It can be frustrating comparing the home fried nugget to something your order and it all comes to how you fry it. Smoking point is key, the same varies from oil to oil and one can’t possibly memorize those and stand at the stove with their kitchen thermometers every time you are craving a quick and simple nibble. This short and simple guide will give you the hacks that don’t require complicated tools and help everyone avoid the common pitfalls. This isn’t just restricted to nuggets, frying like a pro is not rocket science.” says Chef Ajay Chopra.

The guide goes beyond basic cooking instructions. It delves into the science behind nugget cooking, explaining why certain methods yield better results. By following Chef Ajay’s guidance, you’ll avoid common pitfalls and achieve consistent perfection with every batch.

Over 100 visually-impaired children relive ‘Olympics’ to inspire greater number of eye pledges and donations

Bengaluru, 2024: In its endeavor to create widespread awareness on the importance of eye donation fortnight and encourage greater number of pledges and actual eye donations, Sankara Eye Hospital, in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized sports event ‘Sankara Eye Olympics’ for around 100 visually challenged children between the age group of 12 to 18 at United Football Club, Halasuru. The highlight of the event was the participation of visually impaired in Relay, Cricket, Football and Kabbadi. Every year in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of eye donation, Eye Donation Fortnight is observed in the country from August 25, 2024 to September 08, 2024.

Addressing Blind players

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) for Bengaluru Shri. M N Anuchet – IPS and Mr. Anil Aldrin, Former Olympian and Indian Hockey Captain inaugurated the event with celebratory kick off. This initiative aims to educate society about eye donation and its life-changing impact while honoring the families of eye donors and the hospitals that support this noble cause.

At the Inaugural ceremony, Shri. M N Anuchet – IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said, “I am honored to be invited as the chief guest for this eye donation fortnight sports event. Eye donation is a noble act that can transform lives and bring light to those who are visually impaired. It is a gift of sight that can empower individuals to lead more independent lives. I urge everyone to consider donating their eyes to build a culture of self-lessness and giving.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anil Aldrin, Former Olympian and Indian Hockey Captain said, “As someone who has experienced the thrill of sports and the power of vision in achieving greatness, I am deeply honored to be part of this Eye Donation Fortnight. The courage and determination displayed by our visually impaired athletes today is inspirational. Their resilience reminds us all that true vision goes beyond sight—it’s about the strength of spirit, the will to overcome challenges, and the pursuit of excellence.”

The Eye Donation Fortnight by Sankara Eye Hospital featured a variety of activities, including skits, mimes, street plays and seminars designed to create awareness about eye donation. The Hospital has been organizing outreach programs and corporate programs and has been conducting Reels competitions and various other activities for broader reach. A felicitation program was organized to honor the families of eye donors and recognize the contributions of hospitals involved in the eye donation drive.

Mr. Mohammed Zahrin, CII Young Indians Bengaluru Chapter Chair who actively participated in the Eye donation activities said: “Young Indians is committed to raising awareness and encouraging individuals to donate their eyes. We can help restore sight to millions who are visually impaired. Our organization is actively participating in the eye donation fortnight by partnering with Sankara Eye Hospital to promote this noble cause. We urge everyone to join us in making a difference in the lives of others.”

Dr. Pallavi Joshi, Consultant, Cornea, Occular Surface, and Refractive Surgery, Sankara Eye Hospital, Bengaluru said, “Last year, the total amount of pledges we collected at our hospital was around 700. This year, we wish to increase this number by 10 to 15 %, reflecting our commitment to bridging the gap between the supply and demand for corneal transplants. We are receiving 160 to 180 eyes annually, highlighting the need for increased awareness and participation during this crucial fortnight. Around 100 individuals at our hospital alone remain on the waiting list due to a shortage of available corneas and this includes children as young as 6 years to elders around 80 years. The disparity between the need and availability is alarming which can be bridged only with wide-spread awareness on eye donation. The initiative begins with kith and kin which makes a huge difference. As of today, close to 5000 corneal transplants have been successfully performed at our hospital.”
