Every new business venture entails both the possibility of success as well as the potential for failure. Entrepreneurship implies the acquisition of needed resources and the organization and management of these resources. Entrepreneurship involves the identification of an opportunity. The excitement of the entrepreneurship is captured in the quotation above by the globally recognized serial entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson. ‘Business opportunities are like buses. There’s always another one coming.’ Opportunity drives entrepreneurship.”

Dulcet Tile Teams with Norberry Tile’s Craig Norberg

Seattle, WA, May 22, 2024 — When passion ignites a person’s soul, particularly in the arts, fashion or interior design profession, a profound transformation occurs between the artist and the people who are influenced by their energy.
Craig Norberg, owner, designer and tile savant of Norberry Tile and Fixtures, has worked in the specialized tile, natural stone and plumbing fixture industries for over 30 years. Upon receiving his degree in Art History, Craig enrolled and completed the Design Discovery program at Harvard University. It was at this world renown program that Craig discovered his love for design, especially in tile antiquities. Since then and to this day, Craig travels the world, extensively, researching cultural artisans, exploring their processes and their application of materials related to tile. In 1992, Craig headed to Via Reggio, Italy to study the historic processes of terracotta and to witness the old-world processes. He was fortunate to have learned from Mario Pasqueene, one of only two terracotta artisans in the world. Craig’s love for tile antiquities has extended into historical regimens, cultural applications and manufacturing processes.
Craig’s passion to bring back historical surfaces, first took Craig through fabrication and installation. Craig, then, spent four years in tile sales in the heart of New York City. It was in New York that Craig searched out and helped promote a modern renaissance of hard surfaces. Craig brought back his expertise in 1997 and opened the first Norberry Tile and Fixtures in Pioneer Square in Seattle, Washington. As the need for eco architectural materials increased Craig obtained his certification as a Sustainable Building Advisor.
Customers who seek a designer who has extensive knowledge in the tile industry, as well as to have an exceptional eye for design elements is a challenge; however, customers can be quickly mislead by designer bias for fads or styles which often limit their scope and limit the customer’s concept. Craig understands that each client has unique tastes and a unique vision of style. Considering all the product options for lighting, flooring, wall color, fixtures, countertops, cabinet hardware, and especially tile, Craig easily navigates a customer through the creative process. His clients feel less pressured and actually participate in their own creative design.
Craig has developed a simple design process that begins with the customer focusing on floor coverings or a focal wall. From there, Craig guides each customer to expand their vision. Tile showrooms, however, are notoriously known for presenting numerous samples on every wall, which effectively inhibits a client’s creative input. Craig gently transitions each customer beyond the vast displays of tile and leads them into a discussion about color and style. Once the customer understands that tile isn’t overwhelming, they are encouraged to move toward colors that attract them, and then the magic of home design truly starts. Craig strives to create spaces that reflect a customer’s personality.
According to Craig, “I pair products in different forms to provide my clients with vision options. My goal is to develop a deeper relationship with each client, as I dive into their inherent attraction to color and texture, until I get a sense of their style preferences, and how their lifestyle functions in space.”
Craig’s inherent sense of design trends allows him to envision styles and colors before they hit the market. Many of his vendors, such as Dulcet Tile are exclusive to his showroom and who are an innovative manufacturer that sets the next trend in tile. Norberry Tile and Fixtures carries over 100 manufacturers of tile not found in big box or tile outlets. At Norberry Tile and Fixtures, clients can pair specialized tile with the most beautiful plumbing fixtures and accessories in the world. The combination of the quality products and Craig’s unique and talented background, make Norberry an ideal location for starting a home design project. For the best results, customers are required to make an appointment, as home design is a personal journey and requires someone, like Craig, to help define it. Norberry Tile and Fixtures is located at 1400 31st Avenue S in Seattle, Washington, 98144.

Freedom Rhymer Poetry Event Gets People Talking About Mental Health
Metuchen, NJ, May 22, 2024 — On Friday, May 17, more than 50 people attended Left Turn Village’s second Freedom Rhymer Poetry Contest and Open Mic event at Suite Metuchen, in Metuchen, NJ. The theme was mental health in honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month.
The five Freedom Rhymer contestants, Loschil (48; Irvington), Kim Bosse (31; South Plainfield, NJ), Liane “Golden Sapphyre” Ingalls (53; Newark), Thomas “Ghoodlife” Pender (40; South Plainfield, NJ), and Daniel Fernandez (35; Somerset County) each had five minutes to perform original pieces about mental health. Following the competition, audience members were invited to share on the open mic. Poets talked about medication, hospitalization, suicide ideation, anxiety, schizophrenia, grief, substance use, depression, and several other related topics. “We had one poet talk about the frustrating aftermath and challenges he faces finding support as a transmasculine survivor of intimate partner violence- and at the hands of a social worker no less” says Dr. Tyree Oredein, owner of Left Turn Village and creator of Freedom Rhymers. “They were all stories that needed to be told.”
“Mental health is definitely not discussed as widely as it should be, especially in the Black community,” said attendee, Ezra Davis. “So it was really nice to have a conversation about it through poetry and hear from people who have/are also struggling.”
As the nature of the content was very sensitive, Left Turn Village partnered with mental health professionals and agencies. A licensed mental health provider was on site in case anyone was triggered by the evening’s content. C. Neptune Darby Consulting Services Inc. shared resources for the audience. Students Recover, a local non-profit that provides recovery support to high school students, Naloxone training & access, and mental health support was there as well.
While all five poets are Freedom Rhymers, Bosse won first place. “I hope sharing my poetry will help eradicate the stigma surrounding mental health conditions and treatment, as well as give a voice to those who are currently struggling,” Bosse said. In addition to prize money, all Freedom Rhymers will receive a pair of designer underwear from sponsor, CHULO Underwear.
Left Turn Village is a small, Black & woman-owned, queer-centered public health and social justice company. They offer a wide array of programming to help create safer, inclusive, and culturally competent spaces for marginalized groups. Under the umbrella of Left Turn Village, the “Freedom Rhymers”, whose name was inspired by the “Freedom Riders” of the Black Civil Rights Movement, is a consortium of poets and verbal artists who may be called upon to voice their lived experiences.

Saelig Introduces Versatile Rigol 20GHz RF Signal Generators That Suit Quantum Applications
Fairport, NY, May 22, 2024 –Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced Rigol DSG5000 Series RF Microwave Generators which can generate high quality RF signals up to 20GHz with amplitude, frequency, phase, and pulse modulation capabilities. These generators are available with 2, 4, 6, or 8 independent RF channels, housed in a 2U rack-mountable case. The DSG5000 Series of signal sources feature an impressive +/- 1 degree long-term phase stability between channels and they are designed for high-frequency work in applications like radar and quantum research. Each of the up to eight channels can be independently controlled with a channel-to-channel isolation of more than 75dB, a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz, phase deviation resolution of 0.01 degrees, and a switching speed of 3ms. The generators provide an output power adjustable from -30 dBm to +25 dBm, with a phase noise of -133dBc/Hz @ 1GHz (10 kHz offset), a fast switching speed of 3ms and an amplitude accuracy of +/- 1.1 dB (typical).
DSG5000 Series RF Signal Generators meet the needs of complex tests such as superconducting quantum computing, radar signal generation, MIMO, EMS, etc. Single or multiple qubit manipulation is the basis of complex quantum algorithms. The DSG5000 series multi-channel coherent microwave signal generator provides a stable base for realizing multiple qubit and stable vibration signals by generating multiple coherent and ultra-low phase noise microwave signals. Multiple units can be cascaded to achieve multi-channel coherent output, supporting larger-scale qubit gate operations.
The DSG5000 Series offers a channel density that is eight times greater than the previous Rigol DSG3000B series, making the DSG5000 generators an excellent solution for complex multi-channel and system-level applications. They can be controlled from a 3.5″ touchscreen interface or remotely, with local PC, or via an internet connection: just enter the IP address of the DSG5000 series into a web browser to open the Web Control software. The DSG5000 series also allows for the use of a wide range of external displays via an HDMI interface.
DSG5000 Series RF Signal Generators are available now from Saelig Company, Inc., Rigol’s USA technical distributor.
