Author Priyanka Agarwal Mehta Founder & CEO of Sam & Mi -a children’s book publishing house and JML School host a” Virtual Book-reading session for 1st and 2nd graders”
India, Mumbai: JML School and Author Priyanka Agrawal Mehta, Founder & CEO of children’s book publishing house Sam & Mi hosted a virtual book reading session on November 22nd, 2022, for 1st and 2nd graders, with a discerned goal to encourage a reading habit amongst children and cultivate empathetic qualities in them, for a brighter and fruitful tomorrow. With the State Government launching the ‘Reading Movement’ across government and private schools in Maharashtra, to inculcate the love and importance of reading, the virtual book session was in sync with the government’s initiative to devote a special time for reading.

The hour-long collaborative virtual book reading session commenced with Priyanka’s introduction to the students, followed by the reading of her book, “How to Draw a Samara.” which revolves around a little girl, Samara, who has to make a self-portrait for school but struggles to come up with things that make her different and her Mama recommends her researching to figure it out. The book with beautiful illustrations is an adventure to discover Samara’s uniqueness and fosters skills like empathy. The session also included interactive activities among the author and students. The session concluded with the children engaging in illustrating their self-traits inspired by the “How to Draw a Samara” book.
Priyanka Agrawal Mehta, the Founder & CEO of Sam & Mi, draws from her experiences as a writer, serial entrepreneur, and mother to shape the identity of this children’s book publishing house. At Sam & Mi, she carefully curated stories that subtly highlight values such as compassion, problem-solving, and effective communication. Beyond instilling a love for reading, her vision is to nurture a generation of creative and empathetic thinkers. Noteworthy titles like “Adventures of Samara and Alphabet,” “Things I Can’t See,” and “The Panda Who Came to Read ” embody this purpose. Sam & Mi is committed to contributing to children’s holistic development, fostering creativity, and encouraging meaningful conversations through the captivating world of literature.
Expressing gratitude for the wonderful opportunity, Priyanka Aggarwal, stated, “I am truly delighted to have connected with the bright young minds at JML School during the virtual book-reading session. I extend my sincere thanks to the JML principal and teachers for this enriching experience. At Sam & Mi, we firmly believe that stories have the power to instill essential values and skills in children. Through ‘How to Draw a Samara’ we hope to build confidence in the students, sow the seeds of introspection, and spark their creativity. Witnessing the children immerse themselves in the self-portrait activity was incredibly fulfilling; it reinforces our mission all the more to nurture a generation of empathetic and creative learners and to contribute to their holistic growth through the magic of reading and creative exploration.”
JML School provides holistic education, nurturing socially responsible citizens. With a mission to cultivate innate curiosity and mould students into global citizens with awareness, empathy, and environmental sensitivity, the school emphasizes holistic development. The fun and interactive virtual reading session with Priyanka Agrawal Mehta effectively reaffirmed the school’s commitment to creating a cheerful environment conducive to the growth and development of young learners.
Talking about the engrossing session, Mrs. Neha Srivastva, Primary Coordinator at JML School said, “We are thrilled to have collaborated with Priyanka Agarwal Mehta for this inspiring virtual book-reading session at JML School. At JML, our commitment lies in promoting the holistic growth of our students through a blend of academics and skill-building. We believe in providing a well-rounded education through various co-scholastic, creative, and social activities. The session with Priyanka perfectly aligns with our mission to provide diverse opportunities, instill values, encourage creativity, and promote a balanced approach to learning, ensuring our students become compassionate, socially responsible individuals.”

Hulladek Recycling Collects More Than 7000 Kgs Of E-Waste During The Festive Season From Kolkata & Suburbs
Kolkata, 24th November 2023: Hulladek Recycling Pvt. Ltd., Eastern India’s fastest growing e-waste management company, that collects and channelizes electronic and electrical waste across 18 states in the country, conducted a massive e-waste collection drive during the festive season in Kolkata. The Company collected more than 7000 kgs of electronic and electrical waste from Kolkata & suburbs.
Most Indian households get their annual full-blown cleaning spree to prepare their houses for the festival of lights. This decluttering results in heaps and piles of old clothes, toys, books, utensils, and electronic devices ready to be discarded as waste. Without a designated agency available to pick up these unwanted goods from individuals at their convenience, they are left with no choice but to toss them away as trash which ends up adding to the humongous mountains of waste at landfills.
“During the festivals, we clean our homes and get rid of all kinds of waste. It is important that this waste is recycled in a proper manner, especially e-waste. Hence, we started this collection initiative in association with our partner organizations. We are thankful to the people of Kolkata for supporting this collection drive,” said Mr Nandan Mall, Chairman and Managing Director, of Hulladek Recycling Pvt Ltd.

Hulladek Recycling collaborated with schools like Birla High School, Calcutta Public School and Funlish Language School, residential complexes like Eastern High Apartment, South City Apartment and Vandana Housing Society, along with other organizations like Lions Club, Care Center, Junction IT, Ecotain, Dontia Dental Care, Mritikka Earthy Talks, Twirl Store and The Yellow Straw along with more than 250 individuals collectively contributing such a huge amount.
Established in 2015, Hulladek Recycling Private Limited is One of the top 5 PROs (Producer Responsibility Organisation) in the country and already manages the e-waste of corporates like Tata Steel, Pepsico, Nestle India, IndusInd Bank, Mondelez International, etc. India is the fifth largest e-waste producer globally and with over 80% of the e-waste in India being managed by the informal sector, the scope of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) & Producer Responsibility Organisations (PRO) is bound to increase in the coming days.

5 Ways to Stay True to Your Weight-Loss Journey
In today’s fast-paced world, where the demands of modern life take precedence over physical and mental health needs, it is crucial to emphasize the significance of prioritizing a healthy lifestyle. However, the journey towards a healthier life poses a challenge for millions of individuals worldwide, largely due to concerns related to weight and obesity. The issue of obesity is undoubtedly multifaceted, with genetic and lifestyle factors contributing to its complexity. The key to effectively addressing this challenge lies in adopting a positive, resolute approach and embracing a determined mindset. In the pursuit of a healthier life, it’s crucial to shift focus from short-term solutions and instead concentrate on achieving and sustaining long-term weight loss and improved fitness.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that obesity rates have been steadily increasing, leading to various health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. With one of the world’s fastest-rising obesity rates, India is fighting a constant health crisis. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has also highlighted the vulnerability of individuals with obesity to severe outcomes.
According to estimates, India has 135 million obese people. A report published by the World Obesity Federation earlier this year highlights that the obesity risk in Indian women will rise to 13 percent, and in men to 8 percent by 2035. These statistics underscore the importance of addressing obesity as a public health issue and the need for individuals to take control of their weight and health.

A few ways which can help you to stay fit and lose weight are as below:
Creating sustainable habits is the foundation for long-term success in weight management. Instead of chasing quick fixes, it is important that you prioritize health-conscious routines. Begin by adopting a balanced diet, incorporating regular physical activity, and mastering stress management. Keep in mind, that consistency is the secret to maintaining a healthy weight. Gradual lifestyle changes pave the way for lasting results.
Incorporating a healthy diet is crucial for managing weight effectively. Incorporating a well-balanced diet while avoiding processed foods and sugary drinks is vital for weight maintenance. Essential minerals such as Zinc and Iron are crucial for antibody production and a strong immune system. For those struggling to maintain a nutritious diet due to a busy lifestyle, convenient on-the-go supplements like Vestige Veslim Shake can be a practical solution. Veslim Shakes are designed to aid weight management by keeping individuals feeling full and reducing junk food cravings. They come in flavors like mango and vanilla, ensuring taste without compromising on nutrition.
Prioritizing adequate sleep is another crucial aspect of a successful weight-loss journey. Quality sleep plays a significant role in regulating hormones that control appetite and metabolism. Aim for 7-9 hours of restful sleep each night to support your weight management efforts. Poor sleep can lead to increased cravings for unhealthy foods and hinder your ability to make healthy choices during the day.
Maintaining an active lifestyle is essential for successful weight management. Incorporating enjoyable activities such as walking, cycling, swimming, or dancing to burn calories, where consistency in routine takes precedence over intensity is always helpful. To stay motivated, reach out to friends, family, or professionals. One might also want to explore joining a weight loss group or consulting with a nutritionist or personal trainer.
Keeping a journal can be a powerful tool for tracking progress and staying accountable. One can use a variety of health monitoring apps to track daily food intake, exercise habits, and physical and mental wellness. This can help identify patterns, triggers for overeating, and areas where adjustments are needed. Parallelly, it also serves as a source of motivation when you can see the positive changes you’ve made over time.
