The tastefully designed opulent 4BHK villa is nestled near the serene Badi Lake and the picturesque Fateh Sagar Lakes of Udaipur. Given the importance of Udaipur in the tourism market of Rajasthan, this is a big step for 10-year-old Mana Hotels.

With the opening of the Udaipur Pool Villa, Mana Hotels now has 3 properties with the other 2 in Ranakpur & Rishikesh. While the one in Ranakpur is a 49-room luxury resort, the homestay in Rishikesh is a 3BHK apartment with views of the Ganga River. This expansion has come at a rather delayed pace given that Mana Hotels in Ranakpur was launched in November of 2011.
“Mana Villa is located in an exceptional part of Udaipur in close proximity to Badi & Fatehsagar lakes. The guests will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains from all parts of the Villa while nestled in a tranquil part of the city of lakes,” said Rohan Rajgarhia, CEO of Mana Hotels.

ICC National Sustainability Symposium Highlights India’s Ambitious Clean Energy Transition and the Critical Role of Sustainable Finance
New Delhi 06th November 2023: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on Friday announced the successful conclusion of its National Sustainability Symposium, an event that placed a spotlight on the crucial issue of sustainable finance for clean energy transition. This symposium brought together key industry players, government officials, and experts to discuss India’s strides toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2037, as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the COP26 climate summit.
Naresh Tyagi, Chief Sustainability Officer of the Aditya Birla Group, noted, “In our pursuit of sustainable development, India has set a remarkable target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2037, as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the COP26 climate summit. This ambitious endeavor necessitates substantial financial support, with an estimated requirement of around $1 trillion over the next decade. India has made commendable strides in renewable energy, but transitioning from fossil fuels to clean energy is a monumental task. Sustainable finance, a collaboration involving government, business, and citizens, is the cornerstone of this transformation. Private sector investment is crucial to expedite climate solutions, and cooperation among all stakeholders is essential. The prospects for sustainable finance in India are promising, with government initiatives, Reserve Bank guidelines, and increasing demand for sustainability. As we move forward, active engagement from both the public and private sectors will be the key to success in achieving our sustainability goals.”
The Symposium commenced by recognizing India’s growing role in global climate transition. India has set an ambitious goal, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to attain net-zero carbon emissions by 2037. To achieve this audacious target, an estimated $1 trillion USD will be required over the next decade. The Symposium celebrated India’s impressive advancements in renewable energy, showcasing a capacity increase of nearly 250% from 2014 to 2021, cementing India’s position as the world’s fourth-largest renewable energy producer.
The event emphasized the significant energy transition currently unfolding in India, with a strong focus on shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. This transition, however, brings its own set of challenges, including the need for affordable financing, effective institutions, and ensuring an equitable transition. The advantages of embracing clean energy are far-reaching, encompassing enhanced energy security, reduced import dependency, and increased rural productivity.
Central to the Symposium’s discussions was the pivotal role of sustainable finance, a collaborative effort involving the government, businesses, and citizens. India’s ambitious sustainability goals require significant financing, estimated at $10.1 trillion USD by 2037. Sustainable finance is regarded as a catalyst for expediting climate challenges and solutions, evident in the fivefold surge in green investments in India, largely driven by policies in renewable energy and transportation.
Sumit Sharma, Program Officer at the United Nations Environment Program, emphasized the interconnected nature of global challenges, underscoring that actions in one area often have positive effects on others. Neglecting one aspect of these challenges can have adverse consequences for all. Sharma stressed the urgency of addressing climate change and the pivotal role of a net-zero strategy.
India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 was a significant highlight, with some states even setting more ambitious targets. The event also addressed the persistent issue of air pollution, the importance of managing plastics, and the need for innovative solutions.
Nikhil Kanodia, Chairman of the Northern Region at ICC, commended India’s impressive progress in energy availability and affordability, highlighting the diversification of energy sources and the stability of petrol prices. The Symposium showcased promising developments in biofuels and green hydrogen, signifying India’s journey towards energy sustainability.
The Symposium also spotlighted the collaboration between the Asian Development Bank and the Ministry of State Development and Entrepreneurship, which supports India’s energy transition, particularly in coal-dependent regions. The event underlined the importance of prudent financial management for green hydrogen production capacity.
The prospects for sustainable finance in India appear promising, with the Reserve Bank of India issuing guidelines to encourage green deposits and various initiatives promoting energy efficiency, green transportation, climate change adaptation, sustainable water and waste management, green construction, and biodiversity preservation.
The event concluded by stressing the role of both the government and the private sector in promoting sustainable finance. The government was encouraged to consider tax incentives and policy support, while the private sector was urged to adopt internal carbon pricing.
ICC’s call for integrated advocacy and support for sustainable finance resonates beyond the Symposium, setting the stage for a sustainable future. The event welcomed all participants to join this vital journey.

OTSI develops UPAg (Unified Portal for Agricultural Statistics) for India’s Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
UPAg portal aims to provide credible data on the agriculture sector to foster
informed policy and decision-making.
Hyderabad, November 06, 2023: Object Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. (OTSI), an
established global IT services company, has designed and developed UPAg (Unified Portal
for Agricultural Statistics) for India’s Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. This
innovative UPAg portal launched in September 2023 represents a significant step toward
empowering stakeholders with real-time, reliable, standardized information for more
efficient agricultural policies.
UPAg portal is a meticulously crafted platform designed to streamline and enhance data
management within the agricultural sector. It addresses the critical need for credible,
objective data to minimize the need for subjective judgment in policymaking, ultimately
fostering stability, transparency, and informed decision-making.

“We are happy to associate with the Ministry of Agriculture in this ground-breaking
initiative, which addresses complex governance issues in the farming sector. UPAg portal
will enhance data accuracy and improve digital data governance in agriculture. It will grant
users access to real-time, reliable, and standardized information, and this objective data is
expected to pave the way for more responsive and efficient agricultural policies,” said
Chandra Talluri, Chief Executive Officer of OTSI.
Presently, agricultural data in India is scattered across various sources, often presented in
diverse formats and units. The UPAg portal aims to rectify this by consolidating data into a
standardized format, ensuring easy access and comprehension for users. It will amalgamate
real-time information on prices, production, area, yield, and trade from diverse sources,
offering a holistic assessment of agricultural commodities.
Key Features of the UPAg Portal Include:
The portal has an automated process of generating crop production estimates by
triangulating the data from various sources such as IEG, Crop Weather Watch Group,
MNCFC, State Government Data, etc. Policymakers use these estimates and other
stakeholders to make informed decisions.
Data hosted on the UPAg portal helps to gain deeper insights into the agricultural
trends and resource utilization.
Data sharing between UPAg and State Governments allows for the generation of
more granular level estimates of crop production, which can be used to inform local
decision-making.
Primary data related to crop area, production and yield, and secondary data like
prices, market arrivals etc, are collected. Collection and curation of secondary
datasets from sources such as government agencies, private organizations, and
research institutions improve the accuracy and timeliness of crop production
estimates and enable a better understanding of market dynamics.
In summary, the UPAg portal serves as a comprehensive and reliable source of data and
analytics that can significantly improve decision-making and outcomes in the agricultural
sector.

CYFIRMA launches India threat landscape report
Mumbai,6th November 2023: CYFIRMA, an external threat landscape management platform, has released the India Threat Landscape Report 2023 focusing on threats targeting India and strategies to counter them.
According to the report, India is the most targeted country, with 13.7% of all attacks followed by the US with 9.6%, Indonesia and China with 9.3% and 4.5% respectively. The number of cyberattacks on government agencies has increased significantly year-on-year. In the second half of 2022, there were 95% more cyberattacks on government agencies than in the same period in 2021. The number of state-sponsored cyber attacks in India increased by more than 100% in 2022 compared to 2021. India was the most targeted country in 2022 as attacks on government agencies more than doubled.
Healthcare is the most targeted sector by hackers followed by education, research, government, and military sectors. The data from the report shows that an organization in India was attacked 1,866 times per week on average in 2022.
The most common types of cyber attacks in India are /phishing attacks, malware attacks, and ransomware attacks. 78% of Indian organizations experienced a ransomware attack in 2021, with 80% of those attacks resulting in data encryption.

Kumar Ritesh, CEO & Founder, Cyfirma, says, “It comes as no surprise that India is the most targeted country in the world by threat actors. India’s growing prominence at the world stage and push from Western economies to favour India over other large countries, a young and tech-savvy population with low cybersec maturity has played a key role in hackers coming after critical assets, govt agencies with an intent to breach them and harm India’s strategic interests. While sectors like BFSI, healthcare and software companies have spent significantly on improving their security posture, there is an urgent need to understand the external threat landscape. We believe that unless you don’t know who to defend against, billions spent in cybersec will not yield expected results.”
India’s geo-political importance has never been greater than it is today. This has given way to threat actors uniting against India. A disturbing trend of North Korean threat actors collaborating with China and Russia has been observed with the former offering itself as a hacker as a service (HaaS) for financial gains.
Between Jan to July 2023, as part of the external threat landscape monitoring and analysis, CYFIRMA observed 39 campaigns targeting various industries in India. Known groups like FancyBear, TA505, Mission 2025, Stone Panda, and Lazarus Group are suspected to be behind these campaigns. Of these 39 campaigns, 14 have been orchestrated by China State-sponsored groups with the intent of espionage. 11 of these campaigns were planned by North Korea-backed hackers as part of HaaS. While 10 attacks originated from Russian threat actors, of which only 4 were state-sponsored.
Key trends and attack methods being used by threat actors:
Ransomware: Ransomware operators are continuously improving their techniques with the intent to intimidate and force victims to pay the ransom. At present, ransomware operators are suspected to follow a 4-layer approach of targeting organizations which includes:
1. Infiltrate into the target organization’s network.
2. Exfiltrate and encrypt data.
3. Demand ransom and “Name & Shame”.
4. Leave behind footprints in the targeted organizations to come back and attack again.
Crimeware- as-a-service: CaaS threats include SMS spoofing, phishing kit, custom spyware, hackers for hire, and exploit kit.
Carpet Bombing of SMEs: SMEs are not spared by cyberwar, businesses of all sizes are targeted.
Supply Chain disruption: Software supply chain will continue to be targeted
With the rising attacks, it is critical for the govts and Organizations to engage a comprehensive ETLM tool, which can take the intel gathered and relate it back to infrastructure, digital footprint, brand, industry, technology, and geolocation. Because when you unify different capabilities, you get a prioritized list of actions to prepare an effective response plan.
