CNBC-AWAAZ’s 14th Real Estate Awards & Conclave: Honouring Excellence at the West Zone Awards in Ahmedabad
4th October 2023: CNBC-AWAAZ successfully concluded its first Zonal Awards, West Zone of the 14th Real Estate Awards & Conclave, presented by RR Kabel. The West Zone edition of the initiative took place in Ahmedabad on September 30, 2023. During the conclave, prominent leaders in the industry, real estate developers, policymakers, experts, and influential figures came together to discuss the latest trends impacting the real estate sector’s future and to seek ways to expedite its progress in the coming years.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Anuj Singhal, Editor, CNBC AWAAZ & CNBC BAJAAR, who set the tone for the evening. He said, “This is the first time post-pandemic that we are on the ground celebrating the achievements of our real estate industry members. Talking briefly about the topic, K S Jhala said, “Gujarat Housing Board is the initiative of the Gujarat Government, which was established in the year 1960. With the core objective of affordable housing, the board has constructed all in all 2 lakhs plus houses. Redevelopment is of utmost importance due to the duration of the construction of those houses. With that, we ensure sustainable development and make the optimum use of land. The Gujarat Government already has 30 redevelopment schemes in the process with 125 in the pipeline and 48 tenders have already been floated. We have also created a Trust that will cater to the major areas of the state for the redevelopment.”
The concluding panel for the evening was around an insightful theme, ‘Preventing Electrical Fires: Innovations in Fire Detection and Suppression.’ The panel featured JN Khadia, Chief Fire Officer, Ahmedabad Fire & Emergency Services (AFES); Pankaj Dharkar, Presidential Member, FSAI; and Shreegopal Kabra, Managing Director, RR Kabel.
Preceding the award ceremony, the chief guest of the evening Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Home Minister, MoS Home & Industries, Youth, Sports & Culture addressed the audience. ITC Maratha joins hands for Swachhata Shramdaan to keep Mumbai clean
Mumbai, 03rd October 2023: The pristine shores of our Mumbai have long been a source of joy and solace for us. However, the increasing menace of plastic pollution and debris caused due to idol immersions threatens not only the beauty of our beaches but also the marine life that calls these waters home.
In a commendable effort to combat this crisis, ITC Maratha ‘Swacchata Shramdaani’ contributed through a beach clean up to scavenge for debris caused due to idol immersion, Installation of Public Utility Dustbins, beautification and cleanliness drive, also by creating & promoting Guest and Employee Awareness.
On a bright and sunny morning, the dedicated team of ITC Maratha volunteers gathered at Dadar Beach armed with gloves, trash bags, and an unwavering determination to make a difference. The focus was clear – to rid the shoreline of harmful plastic waste and debris caused due to idol immersions that had marred its natural beauty. As the volunteers combed the sands, their actions spoke volumes about the importance of collective responsibility. Every discarded bottle cap, plastic wrapper, or pieces of idol collected was a step towards restoring the beach to its original glory. Several gurney bags of waste and litter had been removed from the beach, leaving behind a cleaner and inviting shoreline that could once again be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
Installations of Public Utility Dustbin help keeping public spaces clean and organized as they provide a specific place for people to throw their trash. Proper waste disposal also reduces the risk of diseases and pest infestation hence ensuring safety of health for the common public. Team ITC Maratha installed various dustbins on Ashok Nagar Business Road, Mumbai as this road tended to collect and build up muck and the people from the auto – stands often throw out single use plastic and waste, polluting the road. While the installation of the dustbins was done, the team also swept out all the garbage around.
Beautification and Cleanliness Drive at the Milan Park in Mumbai, was an extended gesture and support for the restoration of the BMC Public Park to take off the pressure from the officials. Sweeping and cleaning of the park was done very thoroughly by our team. ITC Maratha also decided to plant 2 saplings in that park to help contribute to the green cover. This park is a symbol of peace and closeness to nature, and the team contributed a little more to the beauty of this.
Creating awareness among our esteemed guests was a very crucial part of this activity as it helped not only in building stronger guest relations and communication but also gave our guests clarity about our motto – Responsible Luxury. Our staff showed our guests with various examples of “Not using Single Use Plastic” while he enjoyed the amenities of ITC Maratha. Our staff welcomed our guest to the Peshwa Pavilion, with a glass of Sunya Aqua while explaining what the importance and need behind this was. Sunya Aqua is our in house bottled water that is completely free of plastic and is stored in glass bottles. The guest then bid us adieu by carrying home some of his favourites in our ECF boxes – Elemental Chlorine Free, which are completely recyclable and don’t consists of any plastic.

Vadodara, Gujarat: Parul University and Zydex Group have embarked on an ambitious journey to introduce Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Bio Farming, designed to shape the future of sustainable organic agriculture in India.

The 4-year Bachelor’s and 2-year Master’s courses are slated to run for a minimum of 10 batches, offering a comprehensive education in the field. The admission process is stringent, targeting candidates with B.Sc. degrees in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related fields, with rigorous scrutiny, entrance exams, and personal interviews.
The curriculum uniquely blends theoretical coursework with hands-on field training, demanding high levels of discipline and commitment from students, under guidelines set by both Zydex Group and Parul University.
To incentivize participation, admitted students will receive generous monthly scholarships (Rs. 10,000 for Bachelor’s and Rs. 12,500 for Master’s) for the entire duration of the course, contingent upon signing an undertaking to work with Zydex for 11 months upon course completion.

DPS Raj Nagar Extension hosted its Junior School Annual Day celebration under the theme “Save Mother Earth” in the school auditorium with great zeal. The event, titled “Samanvay – Let Earth Live,” showcased the remarkable talents and abilities of young Dipsites from Nursery to Class III. The event was graced by Mr. Santosh Bansal (School Chairman) and the Chief Guest Ms. Priya John (Principal, DPS Indirapuram), along with other dignitaries.

The students presented the phases of destruction and restoration through mesmerising songs, dances, and theatre presentations with enthusiasm. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired to make a positive change for the planet.
Ms. John congratulated the students and teachers for their outstanding performance and urged them to become responsible green ambassadors of our planet and raise awareness for the environment. Ms. Priyanca Ghosh, the Junior School Headmistress, extended heartfelt thanks to the management, parents, and educators for their unwavering support and love.
