Vietnam Unveils Strategic Investment Opportunities in Nghe An Province, Sets Stage for Closer Economic Ties with India
In yet another reassuring development following Vietnam’s recent visa waiver for Indian travellers and improved air connectivity, Vietnamese Ambassador to India, Nguyen Thanh Hai, on Thursday, championed a call for heightened investments in the burgeoning sectors of tourism and hospitality in Nghe An Province.
Taking centre stage at a forum organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Nghe An Province, home to breath-taking beach and forest landscapes, showcased its investment-friendly environment, delineating key focus areas such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, automobiles, and innovation. The province aims to deepen economic ties with Indian investors, marking a significant milestone in the relationship between the two nations.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai commended Nghe An Province for strategically choosing India as its investment destination immediately after high-level visits between the two countries. “We affirm the commitment of the Vietnamese Embassy to collaborate closely and offer continued support to the province in attracting more Indian investors.” Hai said.
C Raj Shekhar, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), States, Ministry of External Affairs, expressed India’s eagerness to strengthen ties with Vietnamese partners, particularly in sectors of strategic importance. “The synergy between India and Vietnam, with your efficient project implementation and India’s expertise in fundamental sciences, space science, information technology, and agriculture, opens the door to significant collaborative opportunities.” Raj Shekhar said.
Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Thai Thanh Quy, highlighted Nghe An’s preparedness, citing optimal conditions in planning, infrastructure, land availability, human resources, and administrative support to facilitate a seamless entry for investors.
Subhash Goyal, chairman of the National Tourism Committee on Tourism, Aviation and Hospitality, Indian Chamber of Commerce (AACC), emphasized the forum’s significance as a platform to strengthen cooperation between Indian partners and Vietnam, with a specific focus on Nghe An Province.
“Indians are among the leading investors in the UK today due to two key factors. Firstly, when investing in Vietnam, there is a four-year tax exemption, followed by a 50% rebate for the next nine years if no profit is generated. Additionally, the overall taxation in Vietnam remains at 10% for a decade. The country boasts highly skilled manpower, supportive universities for research, and industrial corridors with available land banks for investment,” said Goyal.
Nghe An Province is actively seeking investments in its Dong Nam (Southeast) Economic Zone, encompassing five industrial parks spanning 2,000 hectares. This initiative aligns with the province’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Two thirds of its area is forested. Nature has endowed Nghe An with beautiful landscapes for tourism development. Among them include its long seaside with pristine beaches, especially Cua Lo which is considered one of the best in Vietnam, and Pu Mat National Park, which is home to diverse flora and fauna, apart from breath-taking landscapes.
Going by the tourism statistics and growth for Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2023, it reveals a noteworthy surge, with approximately 10 million international visitors – a substantial 4.6-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022. Before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam had hosted around 170,000 Indian visitors, indicating the potential for further growth in this market.

Delhi Tops Tier 1 Sales, Bangalore Close Behind; Thane Surprises, Overtakes Mumbai in Market Shift – eCommerce Insights by Shiprocket
New Delhi, India, 15th December 2023: Shiprocket, India’s 106th unicorn, and leading eCommerce enablement platform has revealed comprehensive consumer and industry insights showcasing the eCommerce trends in 2023. Shiprocket’s analysis revealed that Personal Care emerged as the highest-selling category in 2023, closely followed by Apparel and footwear and Accessories. Together, these categories collectively accounted for a substantial 63% of sales, emphasizing their significant market presence.
According to the data, Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets showcased remarkable growth rates, with Tier 2 witnessing an impressive surge from 113% in 2022 to an astounding 179% in 2023. Similarly, Tier 3 markets grew from 128% to 138%, indicating burgeoning opportunities in these segments. Mysuru, Udaipur, and Tiruppur emerged as the leading cities in Tier 2 markets, showcasing remarkable potential and growth prospects for e-commerce. Delhi topped the charts in Tier 1 cities in terms of sales volume, closely followed by Bangalore. Notably, Thane surpassed Mumbai to secure the third-largest Tier 1 market position, reflecting evolving market dynamics.
Consumers in Delhi displayed a penchant for books, spending significantly higher in this category, Meanwhile, consumers in Mumbai spend the highest on jewellery. Conversely, consumers in Haryana, Gujarat, and Goa among others exhibited a strong inclination towards mobile accessories, showcasing a distinctive spending pattern. The AOV (average order value) across states averaged at approximately ₹1700 for the entire period of 2023.
Global e-commerce Trends: Categories such as Jewellery, Beauty & Grooming, Clothing & Accessories, and Books emerged as top sellers globally in the e-commerce domain in 2023, indicating sustained consumer interest and demand. The data identified the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Canada as key international markets for Indian merchants, presenting significant opportunities for market expansion and growth. Variations in Average Order Values were observed across markets, with the United States recording the highest AOV at ₹3,493 and Canada reporting the lowest at ₹1,404.

“Paul’s Impressions” – A Journey Through Art by Paul Koli

This connection between the artist and the studio forms a microcosmic world of creativity and aesthetics.
Koli’s deep passion for poetry and language adds an extra dimension to his works, showcasing a delicate journey from the world of poetry to visual arts. Professor V. M. Sholapurkar, an early critic, sheds light on Koli’s initiation into the art world at The J.J. School of Art, describing it as a ‘subtle’ and ‘hesitant quasi-curricular expedition into the possibility of print-making.’
Immersing himself in materials and deeply attuned to world history and politics, Koli’s works are textured with layered understandings, enriched by his love for the logos. In a recent conversation, Koli shared his perspective on art, describing it as “the madness of knowledge,” a reflection of his unending desire for learning and the complex emotions embedded in his creations.

M3M Foundation’s ‘Share for Care’ Initiative Culminates with 12,000 Hearts Clothed in Warmth
Gurugram, December 15 2023: M3M Foundation wishes to announce the successful culmination of its initiative, ‘Share for Care,’ which commenced at the beginning of this month. The campaign focused on distributing warm clothes to over 12,000 individuals across 20 locations in the Delhi-NCR region, exceeding the initial target of 10,000 beneficiaries.
The closing ceremony took place at the Gurugram Sector 65 project, where 1,000 construction workers received warm clothes under the ‘Share for Care’ initiative. Notable attendees included Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson and Trustee of M3M Foundation, Mr. Piyush Bansal & Anika Bansal from M3M Group, M3M Foundation President Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, and other distinguished guests.
M3M Foundation’s objective was to alleviate the challenges faced by the migrant population and others during harsh weather conditions by providing warm clothes. The campaign addressed the immediate needs of the community, showcasing the foundation’s commitment to social responsibility.
On this occasion, the children of iMpower presented brilliant presentations and enthralled the audience. Lakshya Scholar and Special Olympics Gold winner Saraswati and Khelo India Para Javelin Gold winner Manjeet were also present on this occasion.
During the closing ceremony, a migrant laborer said I appreciated the campaign run by M3M Foundation which played an important role in providing relief to thousands of people from this winter. I hope that this campaign continues till next year.

Throughout the 14-day campaign, M3M Foundation distributed clothes at more than 20 locations in Delhi NCR, including Noida and Panipat. Additionally, the foundation identified over 15 parents supporting the lifelong education of their daughters. Furthermore, a laborer was identified and appointed as an admin at the headquarters.
The ‘Share for Care’ initiative, dedicated to sharing happiness, was initiated by the late Lal Chand Bansal Ji, the founder of M3M Foundation, and has been an ongoing effort for several years.
