Mumbai, October 14, 2024 – Specialty chemicals company LANXESS India has won the prestigious ‘Best Nicer Globe User Company Award’ for the year 2023 by the Indian Chemical Council (ICC). This accolade recognizes LANXESS India’s outstanding commitment to transportation safety and sustainability implemented through its ‘Empowered Driver’ initiative.

The award was presented to LANXESS India during the 59th Annual Awards presentation function held by ICC in Mumbai on 20th September, 2024. The event brought together various esteemed industry leaders from the chemical industry.

LANXESS India has been a pioneer in promoting safety culture and sustainable practices within the industry. As a founder member of the Transport Distribution Safety & Emergency Response initiative, Nicer Globe, LANXESS has collaborated with other chemical companies to establish globally acclaimed standards, infrastructure, and services for safe and secure transportation.

M3M Foundation’s ‘Saakshar’ Program Honors International Day of the Girl with New Scholarships

Additionally, the Foundation is providing support to destitute children and girls from the Kumbhar community in Varanasi, where access to education is often an unattainable aspiration. By offering these scholarships, M3M Foundation aims to ensure that these girls have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals, enabling them to build brighter futures.

Yamaha Commits to Expand Green Cover by 6,000 sqm in Greater Noida

Bengaluru, 14th October 2024: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. is proud to announce an increased investment in environmental activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which strives to give back to society and the environment. The company intends a more extensive approach under this drive and offers a stronger commitment, which includes the planting of 21,000 trees across 6,000 square metres of land in the Wetland Buffer Zone 2, Greater Noida in collaboration with the Forest Division Gautam Budha Nagar. These initiatives align with Yamaha’s commitment to build a sustainable future through the absorption of carbon emissions and the subsequent achievement of carbon neutrality.

This effort is part of a four-year contract with the Gautam Budha Nagar Forest Division, involving plantation in the first year and subsequent maintenance over the next three years for the larger benefit of the society.

In the year 2022, Yamaha initiated the tree planting effort with the help of the Miyawaki method, which uses native species ensuring rapid growth and high-density greenery, at Wetland Buffer Zone 1 in Greater Noida. It was a three-year project and the initiative involved planting 7,000 saplings over 2,000 square metres of land. As of 2024, the saplings have grown into fully-grown trees, transforming the area into a dense forest within just two years. The success of this project demonstrates the effectiveness of the planting and reflects Yamaha’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Such initiatives not only highlight Yamaha’s dedication to fostering a green environment but also aim to create long-term benefits for future generations through environmental stewardship and the promotion of carbon neutrality. Yadu Sports announces new team UP Rudras in the upcoming season of Hockey India League

Lucknow, 14th October 2024: Yadu Sports, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by Yadu International Limited (YIL) and owned by Dr. Raghavpat Singhania and Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, promoters of JK Cement Limited, are proud to unveil their new team’s name and logo for the upcoming Hockey India League. The Lucknow-based HIL team will be known as UP Rudras, with Dutchman Paul van Ass as Chief Coach.

Olympics Winning Coach Paul van Ass joins UP Rudras as the Chief Coach

UP Rudras, has announced the appointment of Olympic-winning coach Paul van Ass, the Chief Coach for the upcoming season of the Hockey India League. The talismanic Dutchman, who recently guided the Netherlands Women’s Team to Olympic glory, comes with an extensive and decorated resume as a hockey coach, having led both national teams and franchises to glory. With vast coaching experience and being no stranger to Indian hockey, Paul will work closely with Thomas Tichelman (Co-Coach) and Cedric D’Souza (Technical Director).

Paul van Ass, a veteran in the field of hockey, expressed his enthusiasm for stepping into the new coaching role. He explained how India possesses incredible hockey talent and how the HIL will provide tremendous opportunity for growth of the sport as well as the players.

“India has an incredible pool of hockey talent and that was evident with their performance at the recently concluded Paris Olympics. I’m excited and grateful to be part of UP Rudras and together with the management of Yadu Sports, we are looking forward to working closely with the players to not only develop their skills but also to foster a winning mentality within the team. Our goal is to create an environment where young talents can thrive and make their mark on the national and international stage. We plan to develop a comprehensive training program that equips players to handle the pressures of competitive play and come out victorious,” said Paul van Ass, Chief Coach – UP Rudras.

60-Foot Ravana Effigy Burnt in Dussehra Celebration at Central Park, Kolkata

Kolkata, 14th October, 2024: Keeping up with the tradition of burning the tallest effigy in the city of joy during Dussehra, Salt Lake Sanskritik Sansad Committee & Sanmarg burnt a 60-feet tall Ravana and 50 feet effigies of Meghnad and Kumbhakaran at the Central Park (Salt Lake), Kolkata. The main objective of this event was to provide a vibrant interface between the citizens and the rich culture & tradition of West Bengal by celebrating the victory of good over evil.

The event was attended by: Sri. Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire; Sri. Krishna Chakraborty, Mayor of Bidhannagar; Sri. Vivek Gupta, MLA; Sri. Sabyasachi Dutta, Chairperson of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation; Smt. Ruchika Gupta, Director of Sanmarg; Sri. Sanjay Agarwal, President of Salt Lake Sanskritik Sansad; Sri. Lalit Beriwala, Chairman of Trust Board of Salt Lake Sanskritik Sansad; Sri. Amit Poddar, Secretary of Salt Lake Sanskritik Sansad; Sri. The event drew thousands of devotees on the ground to witness the annual ritual – the burning of an effigy of demon king Ravan. Many people of Hindu faith observe Dussehra through special prayer meetings and food offerings to the gods at home or in temples throughout India. They also hold outdoor fairs and large parades with effigies of the demon king Ravana, which are burnt on bonfires in the evening. Idols of goddess Durga are immersed in bodies of water.

Speaking to the media, Sri. Sanjay Agarwal, President of Salt Lake Sanskritik, “We had made many special arrangements at Central Park ground to celebrate the victory of good over evil. In addition to the symbolic burning of a towering 60-feet Ravana effigy, we also hosted a captivating fire show and various cultural performances that captivated the audience.”

We brought in artists from various regions to enthrall the audience.
