Wishes & Blessings NGO Is Set To Host A Fundraising Concert, Jashn-E-Qawwali in Delhi
New Delhi, India, May 6th, 2024 – Wishes and Blessings, a Delhi-based NGO dedicated to helping those in need, is hosting a fundraising concert with the internationallyrenownedQawwali troupe, the Niazi Brothers. The event, called Jashn-E-Qawwali, which is a celebration of the art of Qawwals, is scheduled for 10th May 2024, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi. The tickets to this show are available for sale at Paytm Insider, priced Rs. 499 only.
The NGO has been organizing the fund raising event, Jashn-e-Qawwali for the last two years with different objectives at its programmes. This third edition of the concert aims to raise funds for the expansion of the NGO’s newly launched initiative of Community Kitchen – WB Rasoi.

Vasavi Club of Buddhapurnima organised GoVote, a vote awareness drive
Hyderabad, May 06, 2024: Vasavi Club of Buddhapurnima, a primary unit of Vasavi Clubs International, on Sunday organized a unique program called #GoVote, a voter awareness program to encourage more people to go out and vote on 13th May, the day of Polling during the 4th phase.
In a 5th Regular Meeting held at Hotel Parklane, in Parklane in Secunderabad, Vasavi Club of Buddhapurnima organized Electorate Awareness against the backdrop of the forthcoming general elections.
Despite of the best efforts by the Election Commission of India as well as many agencies, NGOs, still many urban voters are taking Poll Day as Holiday and skipping voting. Cyber City gets its first e-waste sculpture in collaboration with HMD
New Delhi, 4th May 2024: HMD, in partnership with the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), recently teamed up to create the first-ever e-waste sculpture of Gurgaon cyber city. The sculpture, weighing 500 kg and standing 12 feet tall, is constructed from the e- waste from 5,000 end-of-life Nokia devices. These devices were provided to the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation who processed the materials and transformed them into meaningful sculpture with the help of artists from Calcutta, who tirelessly worked for two months on this meaningful art piece.
At HMD we always start with the human challenges we are trying to solve. One of today’s biggest tech challenges is e-waste. We cannot continue to ignore the common practice of pushing a new phone annually which is not sustainable. This sculpture offers a distinctive perspective on the e-waste dilemma.
Ravi Kunwar, VP, India & APAC, HMD, said, “At HMD, we believe in sustainability at every level, our approach spans the whole lifecycle of devices, making devices that last, keeping devices in use for longer, making devices that are easier to repair and reuse and harvesting recycled material. Over 300 dedicated volunteers combined their efforts to remove an impressive 16,000 kilograms of marine debris and coastline waste. Driven by a collective commitment to safeguarding coastal ecosystems and the livelihoods of local communities, the collaborative drive was motivated to rejuvenate Versova Beach and promote coastal cleanliness awareness. The resounding success of the clean-up highlights the powerful impact that can be achieved when organization and communities come together with a common purpose.
In an alternative initiative, SDF & HMD have come together to restore a pond in the District-Sonbhdra with a capacity of approx. 20 lakh liters, benefitting the surrounding villages and life present.

Campaign Ambassador Akshay Kumar hails the initiative as ‘Jan Andolan’ for sanitation security
New Delhi, May 03, 2024: In a shift that once seemed unthinkable, discussing toilets has become a regular part of conversations nationwide. Mission Swachhta Aur Paani campaign, a collaborative effort by Harpic and News 18, has been at the forefront of this change, marking over 1400 days of continuous engagement. A first-of-its-kind awareness campaign, the initiative normalized discussions on good toilet behavior across the country, touching millions of citizens, and bringing together leaders from all walks of life. Integrating culture, comedy, muppets, technology, music, and education, Harpic Mission Swachhta Aur Paani recently celebrated the completion of its third edition, setting the stage for scaling it up in the future. The milestone coincided with the 10-year anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission.
The celebration saw participation from Mission Swachhta Aur Paani campaign ambassador, Akshay Kumar; Hon’ble Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat & Mansukh Mandaviya; Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, and other prominent figures advocating for a safe and healthy Bharat.
Aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission and UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Harpic & News18’s Mission Swachhta Aur Paani has united various stakeholders – policymakers, cultural icons, celebrities, thought leaders, development sector professionals, water and public health experts, and academia. The campaign reinforced the importance of sanitation for clean and accessible toilets along with inculcating toilet appropriate behavior, particularly in young children. A remarkable feature of this campaign has been leveraging popular culture to simplify the message for mass consumption. A stand-up by Gaurav Kapoor, a song about health and sanitation by Grammy winner Ricky Kej, a message by Akshay Kumar and a short film like ‘Kar Lo Karmon Ka Uddhar’ appeal to common people, make them think, and inspire behavior and attitudinal shift.
Highlighting the significance of a Swachh Samaj for elevating India’s standing, Akshay Kumar said, “A clean society is the foundation of a healthier and better nation. Mission Swachhta Aur Paani has evolved into a ‘Jan Andolan’ (people’s movement) for sanitation security and focused on building awareness for right to dignity. I urge each one of you to continue supporting us and join us to drive advocacy for clean toilets to build a cleaner India.”
Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, emphasized the lasting impact of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, asserting, “India has witnessed a revolutionary transformation in sanitation and hygiene. Over one lakh villages have been declared completely clean based on various parameters. Our persistent efforts under the Swachhta Abhiyan are poised to significantly elevate both the National Health Index and GPI.”
Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, highlighted the critical role of good sanitation in maintaining good health, crediting the Swachh Bharat Mission for spreading the message of health and hygiene nationwide. He commended the Prime Minister for ensuring dignity for women, sanitation workers, marginalized communities, and others through this campaign.
During the celebration, Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs & Partnerships – SOA, Reckitt, said, “Since its inception, Harpic Mission Swachhta Aur Paani has been working towards integrating a culture of cleanliness in society, particularly among youth, ensuring clean toilets become second nature. BIPF’s 11th Shambhavi Puraskar honours efforts for empowering women and forest-dwelling communities in Odisha
May 3, 2024: The 11th Shambhavi Puraskar by Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) was awarded to Shri Ranjit Majhi for his exceptional work in implementing the Forest Rights Act (FRA). Additionally, Smt. Sasmita Mangaraj was honored with the Jury Commendation Certification for her outstanding work in empowering women at the grassroots level toward livelihood and self-reliance.
