Konica Minolta India Plants 150 Trees, For 150 Years in 13 Cities
New Delhi, 23 November 2023 | Commemorating 150 years as a global leader in print solutions, Konica Minolta conducted a country-wide tree plantation drive, that laid the foundation for 150 trees in 13 cities in India to cover all branch offices of the organization. The initiative was a step ahead in Konica Minolta’s ongoing PRAYAAS Initiative, which amounted to the planting of 1950 trees altogether. This plantation drive was held from September to November 2023.
Dedicated to promoting health and high quality of life, the event drew voracious participation from clients, partners, and employees. This plantation drive marks the completion of Konica Minolta’s announced goal of planting 4000 trees within three years from 2021. Konica Minolta has streamlined corporate strategy to offset CO2 emissions generated through business operations, across clients, vendors, and suppliers.
Committing to reducing CO2 emissions throughout the product lifecycle to net zero by 2050, Konica Minolta also adheres to the tenet of “promoting restoration and preservation of biodiversity” as stated in the organization’s Eco Vision 2050. The plantation drive delivers an expression of responsible action in mitigating climate change while aligning with the organization’s long-term vision.
The plantation drive was scheduled in the cities of – Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Gurgaon / Delhi NCR, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar, Kolkata.

Asthi Visarjan of Saharasri Ji performed at Sangam in Prayagraj, Varanasi and Haridwar
Kolkata, 23rd November 2023: Saharasri Subrata Roy Sahara’s Asthi Visarjan performed at the holy river Ganga in Haridwar and Varanasi, and at the Sangam in Prayagraj by Shri Joybroto Roy, younger brother of Saharasri Ji & Deputy Managing Worker of Sahara India Pariwar, along with Shri O. P. Srivastava, Deputy Managing Worker, Sahara India Pariwar and other senior members of Sahara India Pariwar, including Saharasri Ji’s nephews.
On 22nd November, the Asthi Visarjan ritual was performed at Haridwar, and on 21st November the same was performed at Sangam in Prayagraj and Varanasi. In each city, large number of people and Sahara Workers assembled and proceeded with the Asthi Kalash for Asthi Visarjan. Furthermore, Saharasri Ji’s Asthi Visarjan will also be performed at Aamby Valley City on 29th November 2023.
Saharasri Ji passed away on 14th November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute in Mumbai. He was brought to Lucknow on 15th November and the last rites took place on 16th November 2023.
In the past few days, from Politicians to Sportsperson, Cinestars to common man all paid their heart touching Tributes to Saharasri Ji, including Star of the Millennium Shri Amitabh Bachchan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP – Shri Yogi Aditya Nath Ji, President of Samajwadi Party – Shri Akhilesh Yadav Ji, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of UP – Shri Brajesh Pathak Ji, India’s star shuttler Ms. P.V. Sindhu, Shri Yuvraj Singh, Ms. Saina Nehwal, Shri Pullela Gopichand, Shri Abhishek Bachchan, Shri Riteish Deshmukh, Shri Anupam Kher, Shri Sonu Nigam, Shri Madhur Bhandarkar, Smt. Smita Thackeray, Mr. Brian Silas (pianist), and many more paid tributes to Saharasri Ji and called his demise a big loss to the country.

Empowering Student Learning: MoE & IIT Kanpur’s SATHEE Platform Initiates Outreach to Transform Exam Preparation in KVs, NVs, and CBSE Schools
Bangalore, November 23, 2023: The Ministry of Education and IIT Kanpur has announced the successful outreach of SATHEE (Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams), an innovative online education platform to empower the millions of students preparing for competitive exams across the country. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4.
The platform was unveiled by Shri K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, in an event at Shastri Bhawan in the presence of other invited dignitaries Professor S. Ganesh, Officiating Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; Shri Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education; Shri Sanjay Kumar, Hon’ble Secretary, School Education, Ministry of Education, Professor Amey Karkare, Principal Investigator, SATHEE Project, IIT Kanpur.
SATHEE, now live, offers a comprehensive suite of resources for NEET and JEE aspirants, including video lectures from renowned faculties of IITs and IISc. The platform has commenced with its first 45-day JEE crash course, designed to provide intensive preparation and revision in a short period, ideal for students looking to consolidate their learning before exams.
The platform will also host a series of intensive, expert-designed learning modules along with novel features like an interactive chatbot. Regular doubt-clearing sessions led by students from IITs and AIIMS will enhance the learning experience and maintain a human connect with the students. The SATHEE platform is expected to receive an overwhelming response from students across the nation.

ZEE & nasscom forge partnership to support Generative AI Startups
Bengaluru, 23rd November 2023: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Santhigiri Ashram playing the role of catalyst in the country’s progress: Vice-President India
New Delhi, November 22: India is poised at a historic moment to take its place as a world leader on the strength of its cultural heritage and path-breaking initiatives for women and youth empowerment and institutions such as Santhigiri Ashram are playing the role of a catalyst in this holistic endeavour, Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankar said here today.
Dedicating the Silver Jubilee Centre at the Delhi branch ashram of Santhigiri Ashram to the public, Mr Dhankar said that in its short span of 25 years, this ashram branch has played the role of a catalyst to bring about revolutionary social change through a holistic development.
”What we need in this country today is a mindset that reflects our civilisational ethos. Rather than empowering the pocket of a person, we must empower their minds and their faculties. You are doing this in an effective manner, by empowering human resources through skill development,” Mr Dhankar said.
The Vice-President said the Ashram’s journey of 25 years has been remarkable. ”You are catalysing a big social change, handholding those who need your assistance. You are playing a pivotal role in changing Bharat, home to one-sixth of humanity,” he said.
Mr Dhankar said he can’t express in words what he felt. ”I will leave this place fully surcharged, energised, motivated and inspired to follow the principles that Santhigiri Ashram is espousing…… Every memory itched in my mind,” he stated. Earlier, he planted a sapling in the ashram premises. Then he entered the prayer hall along with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who welcomed him along with Ashram president Swami Chaithanya Jnana Thapaswi and General Secretary Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi on his arrival.
Dr Tharoor, the Thiruvananthapuram lawmaker, said his association with the institution has been for a decade and a half, which has now emerged as a major spiritual, developmental and social institution. He said it was a matter of great pride to be with the ashram. He stressed the three tenets of Santhigiri — Annadanam (Food for all), Adursevanam (Healthcare) and Aatmabodhnam (spiritual realisation). He praised Ashram’s accomplishments in the field of healthcare, preventive healthcare and Ayush, especially, its targetted skill development programmes. He said the Ashram continues to play an important role in providing solace and succour to the people.
Praising the Santhigiri Ashram for doing a great job, he appreciated everything that was being done in the national interest. He praised the recent anointing of 22 sanyasinis last month, which was also praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Commending the efforts and achievements made by the Ashram, he urged that innovation was needed in the field of mental health so that people do not lose health. Mr Dhankar met Her Holiness Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini, the present Guru Apparent of Santhigiri Ashram and also offered prayers at the prayer hall.
On Friday, Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated the Silver Jubilee function of the Delhi branch of the renowned Kerala-based Santhigiri Ashram.
Santhigiri Ashram, Saket Branch serves as a centre for coordinating myriad spiritual, cultural and holistic healthcare activities in addition to spiritual pursuits. The centre is actively engaged in encouraging communities through skill development and public healthcare initiatives, particularly in the regions of North and North-East India. Her holiness Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini, the present Guru Apparent of Santhigiri Ashram, did Pratishtha Sthapana on Sunday.
