Anuv Jain Announces 10-City ‘Guldasta’ Tour
India-wide release, 12th October 2023: Singer-songwriter Anuv Jain will bring his ‘Guldasta’ India Tour to ten cities: Bengaluru, Guwahati, Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Mumbai, starting November 2023. ‘Guldasta’, translating to bouquet in English, perfectly encapsulates the essence of this musical journey that promises to be a blossoming delight for fans across the nation.

“The Southern States Are Showing the Way”: Gurcharan Das
Chennai, 12th October 2023: “A lot of people, like me, are in the middle of the political spectrum; and I am a liberal”, said, noted public intellectual, author, and commentator, Gurcharan Das, sharing his thoughts on the Southern Rising Summit at ABP Network’s “The Southern Rising” Summit. “Being a liberal, you are on a lonely road, as there’s no one to vote for.”
Speaking on the session, “In Search of Freedom: The Personal and Political,” Gurcharan Das elaborated upon the history of India in his lifetime. “The big change is that we were economically challenged for the first 40 years,” he remarked. “The nation was shackled for a period of 40 years, and as the world witnessed Japan’s rise, it was imperative that decisive action be taken at that time”
On education system, Gurcharan Das said today “Even today 80% of Indians do not have access to quality education. Only 20 percent of people have access to quality education. They can make a Silicon Valley city like Bengaluru and revolutionize the IT industry.”
“Education is not about rote learning, it’s about questioning. My advice to youths will be to live and examine life,” the author said.
When discussing the growth of southern states, he observed that “Tamil Nadu possesses a magic, with a well-established governance system. Its per capita income has witnessed a remarkable doubling. Overall, in terms of growth, the southern states are showing the way.”
Speaking about his memoir, Gurcharan Das, shared a message for the youth, “The good reason to write your memoir is to re-live your life. My mother taught me to make a living; my father taught me to make a life”

Chola Expands CSR Program – Truckers Eye Health Project (Raahi)
Chennai, 12.10.2023 – Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Limited (Chola), the financial services arm of Murugappa Group, is delighted to announce the expansion of its Raahi National Truckers Eye Health Programme, now entering phase eight. In this phase, Chola is set to establish two new vision centres while continuing to support the 36 locations in 16 states initiated in the previous year.
The Raahi National Truckers Eye Health Programme is a remarkable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Chola aimed at promoting and providing essential health benefits to truck drivers and their families. The program’s primary objectives are to screen 1 lakh plus truck drivers and organize outreach camps in proximity to industrial areas, fleets, and transport depots.
Chola’s commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of the trucking community has been unwavering, and the new phase of the program will focus on eye health. Services to be offered include screening, spectacle dispensing, referral, refraction, and raising awareness about the significance of maintaining good eye health among truck drivers and their families.
Mr. Ravindra Kundu, Executive Director of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited, emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “Truck drivers play an indispensable role in our economy by transporting goods and across long distances, but they also bear the responsibility of ensuring the safety of their cargo and fellow road users. A crucial requirement for safe driving is clear vision. Therefore, it is our responsibility to ensure better vision care for the truck drivers. Chola is proud to deliver and promote eye health services to the occupational driving community in our different locations, thereby providing improved healthcare facilities. For the financial year 2023-24, our goal is to screen over 1.5 lakh individuals, distribute sixty thousand spectacles, and conduct DR Screenings (Diabetic Retinopathy) for approximately 1000 plus truck drivers.”
As part of this program, Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) Screening will also be conducted to detect and identify ocular conditions at an early stage. Fundus cameras, offering crucial eye screening services, will be installed in two mobile vans stationed in Durg, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi.
Each truck driver participating in this program will receive a personalized referral card, facilitating a systematic approach to referrals, tracking, and follow-up for any identified beneficiary. This card can be presented at a nearby hospital for necessary cataract surgery.
Furthermore, the program will also address the critical health issue of Tuberculosis (TB) among truck drivers by organizing targeted awareness sessions. These sessions will educate truck drivers about TB, its symptoms, transmission, prevention, and available healthcare services to ensure early detection and timely treatment.

Shri Mahendra Dohare Appointed as Executive Director of Central Bank of India
Shri Mahendra Dohare assumed charge as Executive Director of the Central Bank of India with effect from 9th October 2023. Before his elevation to this current position, Shri Mahendra Dohare was Chief General Manager of Punjab National Bank. His earlier posting in Punjab National Bank was as a Head of Business Acquisition and Relationship Management Division. He has also handled the Digital Transformation Division.
Shri Mahendra Dohare (MBA in Marketing & Finance, CAIIB), began his career with Corporation Bank as a Probationary Officer and has over two decades of professional banking experience in leadership roles.
During his long stint in the Banking Industry, he worked in various Branches Zonal offices Circle Office, and Head offices. He successfully handled the responsibilities such as FinTech, Credit Card, Merchant Acquiring Business, IT, MIS, and digital Banking.
