ICAI Conducts Convocation Across 15 Locations; Inducts Nearly 20,000 New Chartered Accountants
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, organized a grand Convocation Ceremony simultaneously across 15 locations pan India to confer certificates of membership to newly qualified Chartered Accountants and felicitate rank holders.

The Convocation was held at New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ghaziabad, Ernakulam, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ludhiana. Around 20, 000 newly enrolled Chartered Accountants were awarded their membership certificates, marking the beginning of their professional journey.
The Convocation started simultaneously across all centres, marking a moment of collective celebration. The ceremonial event was formally inaugurated from New Delhi by the Chief Guest, Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayat Raj, in the august presence of CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI and CA. Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI, along with CA. (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary, ICAI and the Central and Regional Council Members of ICAI. The Convocation at various centres were led by esteemed Council Members of the ICAI ensuring seamless celebrations nationwide.
While Addressing Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants from New Delhi, Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayat Raj, stated, “ICAI has played a vital role in strengthening the accounting profession by nurturing talent through education and mentorship. Through scholarships programmes, guidance to educational institutions and building financial capacity at the grassroots by training accountants at the Gram Panchayat level, ICAI is leading the profession of chartered accountancy to greater heights. The Institute’s approach reinforces that true professional success goes beyond financial gains and is defined by dedication, continuous learning and meaningful contribution to society and public financial governance.”
The Convocation signifies the formal entry of newly qualified professionals into the Chartered Accountancy fraternity, a profession that underpins India’s financial strength and governance framework. Trusted by global giants for their deep technical expertise, strong ethical grounding and global outlook, Indian Chartered Accountants play a vital role in driving transparency, resilience and sustainable growth in the global economy.
On this occasion, CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI, congratulated the newly enrolled Chartered Accountants and said, “Convocation marks your formal entry into the professional journey. Membership of ICAI is not merely an achievement; it is a pledge and a promise to uphold independence of thought, ethical conduct, and professional excellence in every sphere of your work. Indian Chartered Accountants are driving excellence in accounting, auditing, and financial management, while actively contributing to sustainable development and good governance.
He further added that “Chartered Accountants can play a transformational role in Panchayati Raj by strengthening financial discipline, transparency, accountability, development outcomes. Chartered Accountants have strong and growing relevance in Panchayats and PRIs due to increased public spending, audit requirements, transparency norms and digital governance.”
The President, ICAI, also administered the oath to the newly inducted members, formally welcoming them into the prestigious Chartered Accountancy fraternity.
CA. Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI, while welcoming the newly inducted CAs to the family of the world’s largest accounting body, said, “Ethics and integrity form the bedrock of the chartered accountancy profession and are non-negotiable. Indian Chartered Accountants are globally recognised for their knowledge, adaptability, commitment and trustworthiness, enabling them to perform with distinction across jurisdictions while consistently upholding the highest ethical standards.“
ICAI conducts convocation twice a year to award the Certificate of Membership to newly enrolled members, celebrating their entry into the CA fraternity. This prestigious event serves as a platform to unite young professionals under the esteemed Chartered Accountancy fraternity, fostering a deep sense of belonging and connection with both the profession and the Institute. Through rigorous training and stringent examination process, only individuals who demonstrate outstanding knowledge, intelligence, dedication and proficiency are qualified to become Chartered Accountants.
