Together, we ride not only to raise awareness but to envision a future where cancer is no longer a feared adversary.”
Yashpal Rawat, Facility Director, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram said, “The aim behind the bike rally was to raise awareness about childhood cancer. Cancer is quite common in both developing as well as developed countries, but awareness is poor among the general population. Thus, ‘Ride for Golden Warriors’ bike rally is a manifestation of our commitment to fight the deadly disease and living healthier and being stronger. Childhood should be a time for kids to enjoy life, not a period spent fighting a challenging battle.”
Dr Gurvinder Kaur, Facility Director, Fortis Vasant Kunj said “Timely cancer detection can enhance survival rates and significantly increase the chances of successful treatment and thus help minimize the physical and emotional impact on young patients and their families. India accounts for 20% of the world’s childhood cancer burden according to the World Health Organization and most children with cancer suffer from leukemia (approximately 33%), followed by brain tumors (around 20%) and lymphomas (some 11%). ‘Ride for Golden Warriors’ is an effort to spread awareness on Early screening and Prevention which are crucial in the fight against childhood cancers.”

Over the years, our conference has garnered significant support from delegates who value the depth of insight shared here, while also helping numerous students enhance their surgical precision and expertise, says Dr N. Somashekar Reddy. This year’s Summit focused on innovative approaches to treating joint issues without the need for knee or hip replacement surgeries. Expert discussions explored groundbreaking techniques to regenerate cartilage between joints, offering relief to patients who can be managed without invasive procedures. Additionally, for cases where joint replacement is inevitable, the Summit delved into the latest advancements in robotic-assisted surgeries, comparing their outcomes and benefits with traditional methods. Our goal is to push the boundaries of orthopaedic care, ensuring better outcomes and faster recoveries for all patients

This breakthrough would make advanced treatment options more affordable and accessible to a larger number of patients across the country, transforming the landscape of joint replacement surgeries, he adds.

New single stage techniques for Cartilage lesions is another area which was deliberated and is fast proving in short term results to be very reliable to prevent osteoarthritis in future. However long-term results are very important before we can generalise outcomes.
