The conference was themed around “NEP 2020 – A Transformational Road Map from School to University: Prospects & Impediments,” and witnessed the convergence of distinguished educators, policymakers, and stakeholders decoding the transformative journey envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

NEP 2020 is an ambitious initiative to transform India’s educational framework from primary to higher education. The policy adopts a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the seamless transition from school to higher education. It prioritises experiential learning, foundational literacy, integration of technology in classrooms and much more for enhanced learning outcomes for children.
Highlighting the imperative of role of teachers in accomplishing the objectives of NEP 2020, Dr. Ameeta Wattal, Chairperson, DLF, QEC Innovative Schools, said, “To unlock the full potential of education, we must first understand how children learn and nurture that potential within them. Although our tools may change, the teacher remains the cornerstone of education. Investing in teachers’ training, empowering them with innovative teaching methods, and fostering their connection with students are at the core of education. In the 21st century, teachers’ impact is not only defined by textbooks but also by imagination, creativity, and empathy, and to inspire young minds, teachers will have to first challenge themselves.

As the conference concluded at IILM University, Gurugram, a collective commitment shaped a roadmap aligned with the transformative goals envisioned by NEP 2020.

ITC Sunfeast YiPPee! to ‘Create Magic’ from Plastic Waste
National, 12th December 2023: Sunfeast YiPPee!, a leading instant noodle and pasta brand from ITC Ltd., has unveiled a new campaign – ‘YiPPee! Better World: Create Magic’. As part of this campaign, the brand aims to educate, raise awareness, and collect, and upcycle plastic waste by turning it into park equipment like swings, jungle gyms, etc.
Playground equipment in city parks is essential for recreation, especially for children. The initiative follows a two-pronged approach for maximum impact:
Upcycling Plastic Waste: Converting plastic waste into sturdy, colourful playground equipment – from swings to jungle gyms. The intent is to give a second life to discarded plastic materials, thereby putting it to good use as well as reducing plastic in landfills.

Better World initiative, waste plastic wrappers were used to create trendy lifestyle and utility products such as bags. The brand has been able to upcycle approximately 3.1 lakh packs of YiPPee!
ITC as an organization has sustained its plastic neutrality status for the second year in a row. ‘ITC WOW – Well Being Out of Waste’, has reached out to 2.2 crore citizens in over 55 lakh households, 57 lakh school children, and 2,100 corporates since its inception. In FY 22-23, ITC collected and sustainably managed more than 60,000 MT of plastic waste, which exceeded the amount of plastic packaging utilized by ITC during the year.

AWS helps transform Thane Municipal School into a vibrant learning hub
December 12, 2023 | Thane, Maharashtra: Amazon Web Services (AWS) continues its focus to provide essential infrastructure to local communities in Thane, Maharashtra. Its latest effort is towards the renovation and beautification of the Thane Municipal School (school no. 4/60/112) as part of its AWS InCommunities program, which aims to make a positive impact to communities, especially in regions where AWS operates.
The renovated school was inaugurated on December 11, 2023, in the presence of dignitaries including Prerana Kadam, Center Head, Education Department, Thane Municipal Corporation; Sanjay Bhoir, Ex Corporator, Thane Municipal Corporation; Carly Wishart, Director, Data Center Planning and Delivery, Asia-Pacific Japan and China, AWS; and Kerry Person, Vice President, Data Centre Planning and Delivery, AWS.
The renovation effort at the Thane Municipal School includes electrical, plumbing and civil related work undertaken to improve the school infrastructure and create a comfortable, vibrant, and friendly space for the students and staff. The school also has a renovated library and new furniture, and its walls have been decorated with colourful, interactive, localized murals, to provide friendly learning spaces and resources to children.
AWS’s association with Thane Municipal School began when it introduced the AWS Think Big Spaces program there in June this year. The AWS Think Big Spaces program is focused on enabling students to cultivate an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines. With the in-depth application and development of cloud computing technologies, DevOps based on cloud-native technologies is facing new challenges during intelligent digital transformation. China Mobile is promoting cloud-native evolution and DevOps transformation by building a DevSecOps platform. China Mobile Jiangsu and Huawei have carried out DevOps practices based on this platform at Huawei’s BSS project, and have built delivery capabilities including agile development, CICD pipeline, gray release, and AI-based intelligent O&M. The platform helped China Mobile Jiangsu implement comprehensive transformation in cloud-native architecture, digital delivery, and intelligent O&M, shortening the requirement delivery period and issue resolution period by 50% and 49% respectively and improving the self-healing rate of system process faults by 90%.
