BPCL Unveils First Mobile MAK Adblue Dispenser in Kolkata
Mumbai/ Kolkata, 19th February 2024: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), India’s Fortune 500 Maharatna Energy Conglomerate, introduces a pioneering solution for eco-friendly fuel accessibility in Kolkata with the unveiling of its first-ever Mobile MAK Adblue Dispenser. Under the leadership of Shri Sukhmal Jain, Director of Marketing at BPCL, this innovative dispenser marks a noteworthy achievement in the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
MAK Adblue, a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) known for its pivotal role in curbing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from BSVI diesel-powered vehicles, has traditionally been available at Fuel Stations. Following structural enhancements, the Mobile MAK Adblue Dispenser heralds a new era of flexibility, mobility, and zero installation costs. This innovative solution streamlines the Adblue dispensing process, eliminating the necessity for complex structural alterations and greatly enhancing accessibility and usability for consumers.
Shri Sukhmal Jain, Director of Marketing, BPCL, emphasized the transformative impact of the Mobile Adblue Dispenser, expressing “The introduction of the Mobile Adblue Dispenser marks a significant milestone in BPCL’s efforts to redefine the refueling experience for consumers. This battery-powered dispenser features a Weight and Measure certified metering unit, printed bills, and SMS messaging to consumers, ensuring convenience and customization in Adblue dispensing at hubs of commercial vehicles, like bus stations, transport hubs parking lots, etc.
The launch event witnessed the presence of senior BPCL officials, including Shri Debashis Naik, Head of Retail East, Shri Rouf Khan, Head of Gas East, Shri Amarpreet Ahluwalia, Head of Lubes East, Shri Anurag Mittal, Head of LPG East, were present at the launch, reaffirming BPCL’s dedication to driving sustainable energy solutions across its various business verticals.

India’s 26 years old youth’s Adventurous Atal Yatra to Celebrate Silver Jubilee of the Golden Quadrilateral begins
Bhuvaneshwar, February 12, 2024: A 26-year-old YouTuber and an automotive journalist, Nishmanya Bahadur commenced on Monday ‘Atal Yatra’, an arduous solo-driving expedition along 6000 km of the Golden Quadrilateral of India that he will complete in just 15 days.
“Atal Yatra celebrates 25 years of the Golden Quadrilateral and pays tribute to the vision of Atal Behari Vajpayee, one of India’s most respected Prime Ministers,” said Nishmanya Bahadur at the launch in Mumbai. “I want to produce a series of videos on my YouTube channel “NBD” to showcase the international quality of road infrastructure created in India in recent years,” he said.
The Yatra kicked off from Mumbai’s iconic Nariman Point on Monday and will travel through Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai and ends on 26th February 2024 in Mumbai. It’s a 13-day drive through 13 states, with 2-day halts in Kolkata and Chennai averaging 500 km a day.
The highway-odyssey will pass through Ahmedabad (Gujarat) on 12th February; Ajmer (13th February), New Delhi (14th Feb); Kanpur via Yamuna expressway (15th Feb); Bodha Gaya (16th Feb); Kolkata(17thFeb); Bhubaneshwar (19th Feb); Vizag (20th Feb); Guntur (21st Feb); Chennai (22nd Feb); Bangalore (24th Feb); Belgavi (25th Feb) and end at Mumbai on 26th Feb.
Atal Yatra is supported by BPCL, HPCL and Tata Motors.
A road network like the Golden Quadrilateral is critical to a country’s economic development. It is the backbone of a country’s economic activities and is essential for unlocking a country’s full economic potential and ensuring equitable development across regions.
Golden Quadrilateral is a network of highways connecting India’s four top metropolitan cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata launched in January 1999 by the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee. The year 2024 marks the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of the Golden Quadrilateral which is the world’s fifth-largest highway at 5,846 kilometres of length.
Nishmanya Bahadur is a young automobile journalist with a great passion for the sector with over 1000 articles under his name. His channel NBD is about 4 months old and has already acquired about 1500 subscribers and more than 50,000 views.
“Globally, automotive journalism and AVs are a huge segment of infotainment, but not as much in India. My vision is to be counted as one of the world-class YouTubers from India in the automotive sector,” says Nishmanya.
As to why he chose such an extensive and demanding drive on India’s highways as a challenge, Nishmanya quipped, “Automobiles certainly need good roads. Besides, making transport faster, more comfortable and more economical for passengers, drivers and movement of goods. Road infrastructure is the backbone of commerce and also of tourism. I want to tell the world that India has arrived on that stage,” he added.

BPCL’s Kochi Refinery forges ahead with a Rs. 5044 Crore Investment in Polypropylene Production
Mumbai, 21st December 2023: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 Company and a Maharatna Energy Conglomerate, proudly announces a groundbreaking initiative aimed at shaping a sustainable future. With an investment of Rs. 5,044 Crore, BPCL is set to establish a Polypropylene (PP) Unit at Kochi Refinery, responding to India’s burgeoning demand for petrochemicals.
This visionary project leverages the abundant Propylene feedstock at Kochi Refinery, marking a significant milestone in reshaping the petrochemical industry landscape. The Polypropylene Unit, boasting a production capacity of 400 Kilo-Tonnes Per Annum, is strategically designed to meet market demands and reinforces BPCL’s commitment to downstream industries.
Shri G Krishnakumar, C&MD, BPCL, shared “Our Rs. 5,044 Crore investment in the Kochi Refinery’s Polypropylene Unit is part of our strategic commitment towards a sustainable future. Addressing India’s petrochemical demand, this project will reshape the industry, meeting the requirements for Packaging Films, Containers and more.”
Polypropylene, a versatile material, finds applications in Packaging Films, Sheets, Boxes, Containers, Bags, Home Ware, Home Care, Personal Care, and everyday articles. The project is slated for completion in approximately 46 months, signaling BPCL’s dedication to driving innovation and meeting the evolving needs of the market.
This initiative builds upon BPCL’s existing capabilities, with the operation of a Propylene Derivative Petrochemical Plant (PDPP) at Kochi Refinery. PDPP has been instrumental in producing critical import substitutes, including acrylic acid, acrylates, oxo-alcohol, and other niche petrochemicals. Notably, PDPP was dedicated to the nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in February 2021, underscoring BPCL’s commitment to the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Modi Naturals Ltd. Receives Rs 240 Crore Ethanol Order From Iocl, Bpcl & Hpcl, Fuels Green Ambitions
New Delhi, 16th December 2023: Modi Naturals Ltd. (MNL) is pleased to announce a substantial order through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Modi Biotech Private Limited (MBPL). The company has successfully secured an order for 3.72 Crore Litres of ethanol, with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 240 Crores, from various Oil Manufacturing Companies (OMCs) including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
This significant order aligns with the Ethanol Sugar Year (ESY) schedule, spanning November 2023 to October 2024, and will be fulfilled in four phases. Not only will Modi Naturals deliver on the ethanol requirements, but the byproducts generated during the production process will also be sold separately, contributing to additional revenues. This cumulative volume of 3.72 Crore Litres, combined with the byproducts from production, sets the stage for a remarkable Total Revenue potential of 275 Crores.
Commenting on this significant development, Akshay Modi, Managing Director of Modi Naturals Ltd., said, “We are extremely happy with the successful commissioning of our ethanol facility and the progress achieved thus far. This substantial development underscores Modi Natural’s commitment to the renewable energy landscape and its active participation in the national mission of Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP). As outlined by the Government of India, EBP aims to reduce import dependence, save foreign exchange, boost the domestic agriculture sector, and provide crucial environmental benefits.
The company recently inaugurated its state-of-the-art ethanol distillery in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. With a robust production capacity of 210 KLD (thousand litres per day) and a 5.5 MW cogeneration power plant, this facility is poised to profoundly impact the biofuel landscape. The facility is planned to operate at 130 KLD in the first phase, with a capex of Rs 150 cr with a debt of Rs. 105cr.
