Rohan Pal shares who would he like to swap his character within the new season of Campus Beats Season 2
Mumbai, 31 October 2023: Amazon miniTV – Amazon’s free video streaming service, recently released the second season of its much-loved teen drama, Campus Beats. Fans have lauded the series’ unbridled emotions, thought-provoking narrative, and talented cast. Commenting on his experience working with the cast, Rohan said, “It has been an amazing experience working with the cast and crew of Campus Beats and we made a lot of good memories. My director and producer, Palki Malhotra, surely helped me grow as an actor professionally, especially for Campus Beats. I honestly didn’t expect to make so many good friends on this journey, but I am blessed I got a chance to work with these amazing people. From the director, spot boy, and makeup artist to the entire team, I’ve built a close connection with everyone.”
On being asked which character he would choose to swap with if given a chance to swap, he commented, “I always wanted to play a bad guy as a villain, Figo was very different from my real personality and that’s what I loved about it. I like Figo however he is, and I am very fond of him. Still, if I had a chance, I would probably choose Rihana, the ultimate ‘bad guy’. I have always been interested in rapping, so I would love to explore Sulekha’s character too. I think Rehana and Sulekha will be the two characters I would like to swap with. Lastly, if I get one more chance to swap with someone, it would be Shantanu. I don’t think I would be suitable for Ishaan, but still, it would be fun to swap for a day and act like Ishaan.”

This season delves deeper into the budding passion between Ishaan and Netra, following the journey of students at the Mumbai University of Movement and Dance, a.k.a. After the success of the first season, Shantanu Maheshwari, who plays Ishaan in this dance drama, shared his thoughts about the second season.
While talking about his experience shooting for the second season, Shantanu said, “I had an amazing time shooting the second season of Campus Beats. People are often skeptical about the second season’s release, but I believe the creators were clear in their heads about what they wanted and how they wanted to approach the second season. The script was fantastic. I loved how we dove deep into personal equations in the second season, showing characters getting involved in their decision-making and ability and then doubting those abilities as well as the personal equation under scrutiny. That is something I love about season two, the way in the first season we have established everyone and their relationship and how we dive deep into their relationships in season two. At the same time, not stopping the overall arc of the story. So yeah, I loved it. I can also say that the audience enjoyed it, which is why season three is being requested.”

Tanya opened up about working with Palki Malhotra and the cast. She said, “It was an honour for me to work with Palki ma’am. We first met during a shoot for Red bull, and that’s how I connected with her and Shantanu. It was my first ever experience as an actor, and to be honest, the first experience is always special as you learn and explore so much. It was a safe space for me to work, Palki ma’am was always there to guide us during the scenes.”
“We actually knew each other from before, almost everybody excluding Harsh and Dhanshree. It felt like a family, we used to help each other with scenes if there were any problems on the set and at rehearsals as well,” she added while talking about the cast.
She further emphasized the uniqueness of the second season and why it is a must-watch. She stated, “The second season explores more about each character and closely examines their unique personalities and talents. So everything gets double-double drama! double dance! double love and more! Overall, it gets better with every season.”

The preparation for this was more about finding myself and adding my personality to the role. So, the emotional scenes that I have with my mother or with my boyfriend are something that I felt deeply and performed. I hope the audience sees me through this character.”

The fascinating series follows a group of students from a dance academy, Mumbai University of Movement and Dance, also known as the University of M.A.D. Shruti Sinha essays the role of Netra, who is bold yet has a mystery surrounding her, which she conceals from her batchmates. She gets admitted to the dance academy through a welfare program and is labeled as the ‘Backgrounder a.k.a. BG’. Netra secretly keeps on giving Inspector Shinde information, but when she learns about the system’s conflict surrounding quotas versus non-quota matters, she decides to confront it and fight back.
Talking about her first reaction after grasping the role of Netra for Campus Beats, Shruti shared, “Honestly, when I got the call, I double-checked, asking, “Are you sure this is happening?” because the audition process took a month and I wasn’t sure whether I was going to get the part. I was so excited that I ran over to my mom and we had a great time celebrating.”
Talking about her character Netra, she added, “What I admire about Netra is that she is the polar opposite of who I am in real life. She is very gutsy, I am also gutsy but not like her. One thing I adore about Netra is that she will go to any length for the people she loves, which I think I relate to greatly. Netra cannot stand injustice, and she is also unafraid of the consequences.”
