DITE&C to launch AI Hackathon under Goa AI Mission 2027
Altinho, Feb, 6: The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Goa, announced the launch of the Goa AI Hackathon, aimed at promoting the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in government service delivery. This initiative is a key component of the Goa AI Mission 2027, focused on leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric governance.

Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director of DITE&C, stated,
“Artificial Intelligence is here to stay, and it’s imperative that we integrate it ethically and responsibly into governance. Through this AI Hackathon, we aim to explore solutions such as automated verification of government scheme applications, early identification of missing information, and timely delivery of benefits to eligible citizens. Our ultimate goal is to improve public service delivery across the state.”
All government departments, corporations, autonomous bodies, and local authorities have been invited to submit problem statements highlighting challenges in day-to-day governance and service delivery. Selected problem statements will then be addressed through AI-powered solutions tailored to the specific needs of these departments.
The Goa AI Hackathon builds on the success of the Goa Open Innovation Challenge 2025, which received 557 applications from across the country. With this initiative, DITE&C continues its mission of creating a Digitally Empowered Goa, fostering innovation and utilizing emerging technologies to improve public services.
