Centre for Sight Moradabad Introduces Advanced Retina Surgery with Dr. Upasna Singh
Moradabad, Dec 10: Centre for Sight, India’s leading chain of super-specialty eye hospitals, proudly announces the launch of its Advanced Surgical Retina Services in Moradabad, a significant step forward in expanding access to world-class retinal care across Western Uttar Pradesh. The milestone is marked by the joining of Dr. Upasna Singh, an accomplished vitreoretinal surgeon, as Senior Consultant Vitreoretinal Services.
Founded in 1996 by Padma Shri Awardee Prof. (Dr.) Mahipal S. Sachdev, Centre for Sight has grown into one of India’s most trusted eye care networks, with 90+ centres across 30+ cities, a team of 350+ expert doctors, and nearly three decades of clinical excellence. Each year, the network provides advanced and ethical eye care to over 15 lakh patients, covering specialties such as cataract, refractive surgeries, cornea, glaucoma, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplasty, and ocular oncology.
The newly inaugurated Surgical Retina Unit at Centre for Sight Moradabad is equipped to diagnose and manage complex retinal disorders including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and advanced vitreoretinal diseases. With next-generation diagnostics and cutting-edge surgical technologies, patients in Moradabad and nearby regions will no longer need to travel to larger cities for specialised retinal treatment.
Centre for Sight Moradabad is delighted to welcome Dr. Upasna Singh, who brings with her a rich blend of academic excellence, surgical expertise, and a deeply patient-centered approach. Dr. Singh completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Miraj (MUHS) and went on to pursue MS Ophthalmology at MLN Medical College, Prayagraj (KGMU). She further refined her expertise with a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot, one of India’s most respected institutes for retinal care. Before joining Centre for Sight, she served as Assistant Professor at Autonomous State Medical College (ASMC), Pratapgarh), contributing significantly to both clinical practice and surgical training.
Speaking on the launch, Dr. Upasna Singh said
“Retinal diseases often progress silently and demand early intervention to prevent irreversible vision loss. With the introduction of Surgical Retina Services in Moradabad, patients can now access advanced diagnostics and specialised retinal surgeries closer to home. I am honoured to join Centre for Sight and look forward to serving the community with compassion, precision, and the latest surgical innovations.”
