IICT Signs MoU with Deakin University at Waves Bazaar During IFFI 2025

Nov 22: In a major step toward strengthening international academic collaboration, the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deakin University, Australia, during the ongoing Waves Bazaar held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025.
The MoU was signed under the Australia–India Creative Collaboration initiative in association with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
The MoU reflects the shared vision of IICT and Deakin University to advance innovation, academic excellence, and cross-disciplinary engagement in creative and technology-led education.
“This collaboration strengthens our mission to nurture global talent and push the boundaries of immersive and interactive media education.” Said Vishwas Deoskar, CEO, IICT.
Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on academic programs, training, and research in creative and applied technologies, including workshops and masterclasses, while promoting student and faculty mobility and working with industry to ensure real-world impact.
Adding to the vibrancy of the event, IICT also hosted a dedicated booth at Waves Bazaar, where delegates were seen engaging in interactive activities and learning more about the institution’s innovative programs and initiatives.

Along with Mr. Sammir Dattani, Executive Director, Sanathan Textiles, the panel featured Mr. Kanav Jhunjhunwala (Sarla Performance Fibers Ltd), Mr. Gautam Dalmia (Strata Geosystems India Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Rahul Bajaj (Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd.), and Mr. Anish Jiwarajka (Jiwarajka Textile Industries). Together, the next-generation leaders offered forward-looking perspectives on strengthening India’s position in global technical textiles.
The discussion highlighted expansive opportunities emerging across geotextiles, protective wear, mobility solutions, filtration, medical textiles, and industrial applications. Panellists emphasised that while India has built a strong manufacturing foundation, unlocking export-led growth will require deeper product innovation, specialization, brand building and accelerated adoption of advanced technologies.
Mr. Dattani underscored the pivotal role young industry leader’s play in driving transformation. He stated, “India’s technical textiles sector stands at an inflection point. Sarvodaya Hospital Performs India’s First Bilateral Hip Replacement in 165-kg Young Patient
India, Nov 21: In a landmark achievement that underscores its leadership in advanced orthopaedic care, Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec 8, Faridabad, has successfully treated a highly complex case of bilateral Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hip in a 27-year-old patient weighing 165 kg.

Rohit Mundra, a young professional from Kolkata, was suffering from severe AVN in both hips – an increasingly common condition in younger Indians that severely restricts mobility and affects long-term quality of life. Compounded by class III obesity (BMI 49.2), which represents the most severe category of obesity and is associated with significant health risks like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, sleep, osteoarthritis, and certain cancers, while also experiencing challenges such as reduced mobility and psychosocial stress. His case posed significant surgical challenges that only a high-expertise centre could address.
The patient successfully underwent hip replacement surgery on one side last year. Encouraged by his recovery and the exceptional expertise of the medical team, in 2025 he returned for the replacement of the second hip. This procedure has now been completed with equal success, further underscoring the team’s commitment to delivering advanced care and restoring mobility for patients.
Speaking about the case, Dr. Pankaj Walecha, Director & Head Robotic Knee & Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement, Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, said, “Such cases demand exceptional experience and a specialised ecosystem. A 165-kg young adult undergoing Total Hip Replacement is not common, and it requires a high level of surgical skill, meticulous planning, and a fully prepared multidisciplinary setup. Dr. Pankaj further added that obesity, steroid use, alcohol intake, and delayed diagnosis are major contributors to early hip joint destruction, often making Total Hip Replacement surgery the most effective solution.

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Celebrates 2 Million Vehicles Produced Locally
Pune, Nov 21:-Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has crossed the 2 million production milestone, marking a landmark achievement in its 25-year journey in India. This milestone comes amid the Group’s strongest commercial momentum to date, with October 2025 emerging as its most successful month since inception, reaffirming India’s strategic role in the global network.

The milestone includes over 500,000 vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, designed and developed locally by Indian engineering teams. This platform underpins models such as the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kodiaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, which have driven recent growth. Remarkably, the last 500,000 units were produced in just 3.5 years, reflecting robust demand for India-built, globally benchmarked products.
SAVWIPL’s brands continue to post strong commercial performance. Škoda Auto India recorded its highest-ever 10-month performance, reaching 61,607 units in 2025, more than doubling year-on-year. Volkswagen India celebrated Diwali with its highest-ever monthly sales for the Virtus, which now commands over 40% share in the premium sedan segment within 40 months.
Premium and luxury brands have also strengthened the Group’s market presence. Bentley India opened all-new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru, consolidating sales, marketing, and aftersales operations. Porsche India added over 4,400 customers in the past six years, expanding to 13 points of sale nationwide. SAVWIPL’s super-luxury marque Lamborghini delivered its best-ever annual performance in 2024, with 113 cars sold, a 10% increase over 2023. The launch of the Temerario in India, following the Revuelto and Urus SE, completes Lamborghini’s hybrid transition under its Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.
