SK Telecom Unveils A.X K2, Driving AI Adoption in Industry and Daily Life
SEOUL, Korea, July 29 — SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM, hereinafter referred to as “SKT”) today unveiled its proprietary AI foundation model ‘A.X K2,’ supporting AI transformation across everyday life and industrial fields.
Starting today, the 688-billion-parameter A.X K2 model is available through the open-source community Hugging Face. Building on the 519B A.X K1, it delivers enhanced mathematical and scientific reasoning, Korean-language knowledge, and long-context reasoning capabilities.
Across 14 benchmarks, A.X K2 posted an average performance gain of 32.2 percentage points over A.X K1. The model delivered particularly strong gains of approximately 83.9 percentage points in long-context understanding and agent-related evaluations.
SKT also applied its proprietary Sparse Gated Attention (SGA) architecture to A.X K2. The architecture selectively references the most relevant information as the model processes long contexts, helping maximize accuracy and operational efficiency in industrial environments.
A.X K2 demonstrated performance on par with or superior to Qwen 3.5-397B and DeepSeek-V4-Flash — both released within the past six months— on math benchmarks (AIME26, Apex) and Korean-language (KMMLU-Pro, CLIcK) benchmarks.”
Supporting AI Transformation Across Manufacturing, Public Sector and Beyond with A.X K2
SKT plans to expand the application of A.X K2 across industry and everyday life. The company conducted four rounds of post-training to verify the model’s response quality, stability, and operational efficiency, and is identifying use cases across various sectors, including manufacturing, defense, and bio.
Manufacturing AI: SKT is embedding operational know-how from industrial sites into manufacturing-specialized AI agents powered by A.X K2. In the second half of the year, the company plans to deploy demo versions at steelmaker KG Steel’s cold-rolling line in Dangjin, followed by field trials. Similar trials will also be conducted across auto parts manufacturer KONEC’s casting and machining processes.”
Defense AI: In collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense under the Sovereign AI Foundation Model project, SKT has developed three quantized models based on A.X K1. Given the defense sector’s need for the highest levels of security and data sovereignty, the models apply quantization technology to reduce memory usage and increase processing speed. The Ministry and SKT plan to deploy the models across units under the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
Bio AI: SKT’s proprietary foundation model is also being considered for applications in bio. The company is applying AI to the development of targeted therapies for intractable cancers with SK Biopharmaceuticals, recently helping reduce the early-stage drug research period — typically one to two years using conventional methods — to five months.
Enterprise AI Agents: For enterprise productivity, A.X K2 powers A. Biz, enabling users to generate newsletters, gather and analyze information, and create reports. SKT also provides a lightweight version of A.X K2 for SK hynix’s internal tools to support document drafting and information management tasks.
SKT is also supporting the domestic AI ecosystem by providing A.X K1 in API form to participants in programs led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and to three startups — namely Purselly (Marketing), REmited (Commerce), and Devall Company (Finance) — selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups-led open innovation program.
A lightweight version of A.X K2 has also been integrated into SKT’s AI service, A. (A-DoT), expanding its use into everyday applications. A.X K2 powers the “AI Suggestions” feature in A. Phone, which recommends schedules and to-do items based on users’ call conversations. The model is also used in A. Note’s content summarization features.
Unveiling Vision and Audio Models to Scale Manufacturing AI and Service Adoption
Centered on A.X K2, SKT has built a derivative lineup — including a vision-language (VL) model based on a vision encoder and a speech model based on an audio encoder·decoder — to meet diverse industry needs.
A.X K2 VL Light-Preview and A.X K2 Audio Language Model (ALM) were developed by SKT, while A.X K2 Raon-Speech was developed in collaboration with Krafton, building on SKT’s A.X K2 Light model.
A.X K2 VL Light-Preview (21B): Combines image and text understanding to support enterprise workflows involving reports, manuals and field imagery. Potential applications include analyzing image-based documents such as receipts and academic papers, identifying risks in legal documents, and interpreting industrial piping.
A.X K2 ALM (22B): Designed to recognize and analyze audio from customer consultations, meetings and field environments. SKT is evaluating its use in contact center voice calls.
A.X K2 Raon-Speech (21B): Planned for use in Krafton games to enhance voice-based interactions between players and AI.
Going forward, SKT plans to scale the successor to A.X K2 to the trillion-parameter range to secure global competitiveness. The company has been expanding its parameter scale to match that of leading global players, and introduced 500B-plus large-scale models in the first phase of the Sovereign AI Foundation Model Project.
“We have advanced a range of capabilities in parallel to enable broad use across everyday life, offices and manufacturing sites,” said Kim Tae-yoon, Head of Foundation Model Office at SKT. “We will continue expanding the adoption of A.X K2 across industries to help drive Korea’s AI competitiveness.”

I only came to know about them after joining the Army,” he said.
Speaking about the sacrifices behind his success, Gulveer offered a glimpse into the personal side of an athlete’s life. “Sometimes when I talk to my mother, I feel like crying because I miss my mother and father,” he shared, highlighting the challenges of spending long periods away from family while pursuing excellence.

From Peripheral Suburb to Growth Engine: How Vasai is Powering the next Housing Hub with Mumbai 4.0

By Jash Panchamia, Promoter, Suraksha Smart City
Vasai, long viewed as a peripheral suburb, is now gaining traction as a promising housing market. With its population projected to grow from 1.3 million in 2011, to over 2 million by 2030, Vasai is no longer a peripheral suburb-it is touted to become the epicentre of a new housing churn with Mumbai 4.0.
Vasai’s salient amenities like infrastructure expansion, policy incentives, and affordability gives it an edge over Mumbai, that faces chronic land shortage. Amidst the overpopulation and chaos of the state capital, the question is no longer whether Vasai will grow or not, but rather how quickly it will reshape the region’s urban future.
Historically, Vasai has been known for its fishing communities, heritage churches, and quiet coastal living. However, in the last few years, it has transitioned into a leading commuter belt, helping ease the pressure off Mumbai. Now, it is undergoing yet another transformation-this time as a redevelopment and housing hub.
Mumbai’s real estate landscape is dotted with premium developments that reflect its established urban character and commanding property values often exceeding Rs 50,000 per sq ft. Vasai has parallelly emerged as an attractive alternative, offering quality housing options in the range of Rs 8,000–12,000 per sq ft. With its competitive pricing, improved connectivity and infrastructure, Vasai is increasingly appealing to homebuyers looking toward integrated townships in the northern corridor.
Additionally, several land parcels are being unlocked through redevelopment initiatives, paving the way for a new wave of thoughtfully planned residential projects. This phase of development is also witnessing a growing shift towards integrated township formats, with projects being planned as self-sustained communities that combine residential living with social infrastructure, amenities, and open spaces.
This growth is further reinforced by market indicators. When it comes to mid-segment housing absorption, it has shown strong year-on-year growth, thus reflecting rising end-user demand. No longer a ‘fallback location’, Vasai is increasingly being actively chosen, not just for affordability, but also for improved quality of life, and long-term potential.
So, what has prompted such transformation of Vasai? This transition, that is not accidental, is powered through infrastructure and policy tailwinds, which include:
High-speed connectivity: The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has key infrastructure planned around Vasai, that is set to vastly improve access to the region.
Metro expansion: Upcoming metro corridors will drastically reduce travel time (within a 30–45-minute commute), that will ease and alter daily commute.
Road and rail upgrades: Projects like the Virar-Alibaug Corridor and proposed sea links, will further merge Vasai with Mumbai’s economic core.
Rail network advantage: Dual connectivity via Western and Central railway lines already provides logistical, easy access to commuters. This is further strengthened by the upcoming Vasai-Diva-Panvel Railway Line Extension which will link Vasai Road to Panvel via Diva, slashing travel times to Navi Mumbai. Complementing this, the Vasai Outstation Terminal (under construction, 8 platforms) will handle long-distance trains, decongesting core terminals like CST and Lokmanya Tilak, while offering direct link to the northern suburbs and beyond
What is even more crucial is that these physical upgrades are being ably supported by policies as well. Peripheral growth nodes are a key focus of Maharashtra’s evolving housing frameworks, while redevelopment incentives help in completion of project timelines.
It is not just infrastructure; economic activity too, forms a core aspect of Vasai’s development. The region is attracting increased interest from commercial developments and industries, further bolstered by proximity to emerging hubs, and large-scale projects like the Vadhavan Port and a proposed airport. This is expected to drive a steady influx of both migrants and working professionals.
For homebuyers, it is a win-win deal. With both affordability and appreciation potential, Vasai offers a rare combination that will keep reaping dividends in the long-run. With property values expected to grow by 12–15% in the coming years, Vasai offers a strong return on investment alongside ease of living with its integrated township projects. Compared to Mumbai, where Rs 1–2 crore homes are increasingly out of reach, Vasai offers a realistic approach to ownership of one’s own home.
Vasai’s development, however, is not without considerable challenges. The rapid urbanisation has put pressure on amenities like water supply, transport infrastructure, and land management. Not only this, traffic congestion, and unplanned development risk are proving to be bottlenecks to an otherwise attractive market.
The good news is that solutions to these problems is already underway. Initiatives such as the Surya Regional Water Supply Scheme aim to resolve long-term water needs, while better transport planning and smart urban development, will lead to sustainable growth.
So, what lies ahead? To capitalise on Vasai’s massive potential, it is important that both policymakers and planners act decisively to make sure that infrastructure keeps pace with growing demand. This alignment will ensure that growth and capacity simultaneously contribute to Vasai’s development.
In the years to come, Vasai is set to grow exponentially. By 2035, the Vasai belt could account for a substantial share of new housing supply, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, as much as 40%.
This is not just a real estate story, but rather a benchmark of urban growth-one that creates new avenues of opportunity, while staying clear of the congestion that is synonymous to Mumbai. With the seamless convergence of infrastructure, policy, and market forces, Vasai will no longer be an ‘alternate option’, it will be a cornerstone of fast-paced development.
Hence Mumbai’s future as we know, is set to be redefined, and Vasai might just be the starting point.

MyAssetPoint Launches Cross-Border Real Estate Collaboration Platform in India and UAE
New Delhi, India, July 28: Real estate technology company MyAssetPoint has announced the launch of its agent collaboration platform in India and the United Arab Emirates, introducing a network designed to enable real estate professionals to collaborate on property transactions across multiple markets through a commission-sharing model at https://myassetpoint.com/r/pp6hvhhs.
The platform seeks to address one of the industry’s longstanding challenges—limited collaboration between independent brokers operating in different cities and countries. Instead of working independently, registered agents can share property listings, exchange buyer leads and participate in transactions together while the listing agent manages site visits, negotiations and documentation.
Talking about the launch, company spokesperson said, “Real estate remains a highly fragmented industry where professionals often work within limited geographical boundaries. Our objective is to create a collaborative ecosystem where agents can access opportunities beyond their local markets while maintaining transparency in lead management and commission sharing.”
According to the company, every registered agent receives a dedicated personal website connected to the platform’s inventory, allowing properties listed by participating agents to be showcased across the network. The company says this approach is intended to increase property visibility and expand business opportunities without requiring agents to establish offices in multiple locations.
The platform is currently operational in India and the UAE. MyAssetPoint plans to expand its network to seven to eight additional international markets over the next three to four months as part of its global growth strategy.
The company believes the model could particularly benefit independent brokers and small agencies by providing access to a wider inventory of properties and potential buyers without requiring significant investment in technology or physical expansion.
Industry observers note that technology-driven collaboration platforms are increasingly gaining attention as real estate markets become more interconnected and cross-border property transactions continue to grow.
As part of its launch offer, MyAssetPoint is providing free onboarding for a limited period and a complimentary personal website to all new agents joining the platform. While the free onboarding offer is available only for a limited time, the personal website will continue to be provided to every new agent.

GMSL2 Repeater Doubles Rugged Camera Link Reach to 30 Meters on Large Autonomous Machines
Compact Washdown-Ready Device Regenerates the Signal and Needs No Separate Power Supply
July 28: Hsinchu, Taiwan – oToBrite, a provider of automotive-grade Vision AI and camera solutions for unmanned vehicles, off-highway machines, and robotics, today introduced the GMSL2 Repeater, a compact device that doubles rugged camera-to-SoC transmission to 30 meters on large machines. A single repeater regenerates the GMSL2 signal at the midpoint of the link, doubling the roughly 15-meter reach of a standard GMSL2 connection without changing the camera architecture or the location of the compute unit.

Large machines place cameras far from the compute unit. Trailer-rear, boom-arm, harvesting-head, and perimeter cameras routinely sit outside the reliable range of a standard GMSL2 link over automotive cabling. Reaching those positions has required either relocating the compute unit or redesigning the cable architecture. The GMSL2 Repeater removes both steps.
Signal Regeneration Extends the Link to 30 Meters
The repeater installs inline between the camera and the host. It recovers the incoming GMSL2 signal in full, then retransmits a clean copy across a second link. This full recovery, rather than analog signal boosting, extends the link to a full 30 meters and adds under 1 microsecond of latency. The device has one GMSL2 input and one GMSL2 output on FAKRA Type Z connectors, runs at 6Gbps, and draws power over the same coax as the camera, requiring no separate power supply.
IP69K Rating and a Compact Body for Permanent Outdoor Use
The GMSL2 Repeater measures 34.6 by 36 by 19 millimeters and installs permanently on the machine. It carries an IP69K rating when its FAKRA connector is mated to a cable connector rated to the same standard, supporting high-pressure washdown. The device operates from minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius and draws up to 1.3 watts, excluding camera power.
Backed by a Decade of Automotive and Autonomy Programs
For more than a decade, oToBrite has supplied automotive-grade cameras and Vision-AI systems for production vehicle programs and autonomous machine fleets, working with global automotive, off-highway, and robotics companies across the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Applications Across Heavy Machinery and Autonomous Platforms
Primary applications include heavy construction, mining, agricultural, and forestry equipment, along with long-haul trucking. Outdoor autonomous mobile robots and unmanned ground vehicles are a further application as those platforms grow larger and move into harsher environments.
A Single Source for the GMSL2 Camera Chain
The repeater extends the reach of oToBrite’s GMSL2 cameras, which the company offers from 1 to 8 megapixels along with plug-and-play adapter kits that connect them to NVIDIA Jetson platforms. That lets a system builder source the cameras, the compute connection, and the long-distance link for a large machine from a single automotive-grade supplier.

Centre Regulates Sugar Stocks to Ensure Smooth Market Availability
New Delhi, July 28: The Centre has introduced stock holding limits for sugar dealers from August 1 to November 30 to ensure steady market supply and prevent unnecessary price fluctuations.
The move is aimed at improving monitoring of sugar availability and preventing excessive stock accumulation by traders during the specified period.
Sugar dealers will be required to maintain stocks within the prescribed limits and provide necessary details as per government guidelines.
Officials said the measure will help maintain a balance between supply and demand while protecting consumer interests and ensuring stability in the sugar market.
The government will continue to monitor market conditions and take appropriate steps to maintain smooth availability of sugar across the country.
