Gartner Predicts AI Applications Will Drive 50 percent of Cybersecurity Incident Response Efforts by 2028
Sydney, Australia, Mar 23: Fifty percent of all enterprise cybersecurity incident response efforts will focus on incidents involving custom-built AI-driven applications by 2028, according to Gartner, Inc., a business and technology insights company.
“AI is evolving quickly, yet many tools – especially custom-built AI applications – are being deployed before they’re fully tested,” said Christopher Mixter, VP Analyst at Gartner. “These systems are complex, dynamic and difficult to secure over time. Most security teams still lack clear processes for handling AI-related incidents, which means issues can take longer to resolve and require far more effort.”
Gartner recommends security leaders get involved early in custom-built AI application projects to ensure sufficient time exists, resources are planned and expectations are managed for adequate security controls.
This is one of Gartner’s top cybersecurity predictions that Gartner recommends cybersecurity leaders to factor into their security strategies over the next two years, along with the following predictions.
By 2028, more than 50% of enterprises will use AI security platforms to secure third-party AI service usage and protect custom-built AI applications.
AI security platforms give organizations a unified way to manage the new risks associated with rapid AI adoption, such as prompt injection, data misuse and more. Centralizing visibility and control, these platforms help CISOs enforce use policies, monitor AI activity and apply consistent security guardrails across third-party and custom AI applications. Security leaders must evaluate AI security platforms to ensure they can secure both forms of applications.
Through 2027, manual AI compliance processes will expose 75% of regulated organizations to fines exceeding 5% of their global revenue.
Despite the distinct approaches to regulation globally, AI regulations converge on a universal demand for a systematic risk management approach. Even if CISOs can keep ahead of security, privacy and cyber risk management regulations and standards, new regulations covering AI safety call everything into question. For greater success, Gartner recommends establishing cyber governance risk and compliance, and enabling compliance through technology.
Through 2030, 33% of IT work will be spent remediating AI data debt to secure AI.
Most organizations’ data is not AI‑ready, with poorly secured and unstructured data a major barrier to AI adoption. In response, cybersecurity leaders are expanding data loss prevention to monitor and restrict data flows triggered by GenAI and agentic AI data access events and requests. Gartner recommends they collaborate with data and analytics and AI leaders to define a structured program of data discovery, assessment and access control remediation.
By 2027, 30% of organizations will require comprehensive sovereignty of their cloud security controls to address continued geopolitical turmoil.
Geopolitical turmoil and local regulations are creating untenable data risks, which require many organizations to make sovereignty a key part of their cyber resilience approach. This will necessitate changes in vendor selection for cloud-tethered offerings and prioritization efforts as geopatriation requirements intensify. Cybersecurity leaders must play an active role in defining organizational sovereignty requirements, including those required by local regulations.
By 2028, 70% of CISOs will use identity visibility and intelligence capabilities to shrink the IAM attack surface, reducing the risks of credential compromise.
Identity has become a primary attack surface as organizations struggle to manage the rapid growth and complexity of human and machine identities. This leaves visibility gaps left by isolated identity and access management (IAM) tools and increases the risk of misconfigurations. Gartner recommends these blind spots be addressed by integrating unified, AI‑powered identity visibility and intelligence platforms to improve detection and remediation.

Purvanchal Jan Chetna Samiti’s Bihar Diwas Event Features Health Camp, 71 Felicitations

Purvanchal Jan Chetna Samiti (Trust) organised a large-scale health check-up camp on the occasion of Bihar Diwas, combining community service with health awareness. Around 400 people availed free medical screening.

The programme was inaugurated by Hollywood-fame artist Gulshan Pandey, who cut the ceremonial ribbon. The presence of film artist Raju Jangid further added to the significance of the event.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of the Trust’s Founder Chairman (Trustee) Rajneesh Verma, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to public welfare and social responsibility. Active member Anuradha Jha stated that the objective of the programme extended beyond healthcare services to also providing a platform to recognise and honour talented individuals from the Purvanchal region.
As part of the event, 71 individuals from Purvanchal, who have made notable contributions in various fields, were honoured with the ‘Bihar Gaurav Samman’, adding a distinct dimension to the programme.

A team of expert doctors from Mahatma Gandhi Hospital conducted free health check-ups, offering services including general consultations, blood pressure and sugar tests, as well as specialised consultations in neurology, dental care, orthopaedics and ENT.
The camp witnessed strong participation, with a large number of people benefiting from the services. Doctors also advised attendees on maintaining a balanced diet, undergoing regular health check-ups and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The closing session was attended by Bollywood-fame artist Gulshan Pandey, Rajasthan-based actor Raj Jangid, YouTuber Hansraj Atariya, officials from the Municipal Corporation, and OSD, LNJ Group, Rajneesh Verma, along with several other distinguished guests.

Tokyo, Japan, Mar 23: transcosmos has conducted its proprietary “Global Online Shopping Trends Survey 2026,” summarizing the latest trends in AI-powered shopping using generative AI. The survey compares how consumers in eight major cities utilize AI at each stage of the shopping process—from product discovery and comparison to final purchase—and where they still prefer human support.

AI Shopping Usage: Over 80% use AI search in Mumbai, Bangkok & Shanghai — strong intention to use across all cities ●When asked about their use of generative AI search services (ChatGPT, Perplexity, DeepSeek, etc.) across shopping stages—product discovery, Q&A/troubleshooting, and purchase—all cities showed the highest usage in “product discovery.” In Mumbai, Bangkok, and Shanghai, usage reached 70–90% across all stages, while Tokyo remained low at around 20% even for product searches. ●Future intention to use AI (those who “have used and want to continue using” + “have not used but want to try”) exceeded current usage in all cities.In Mumbai, Bangkok, and Shanghai, over 80% expressed willingness to use generative AI search services at every stage. Even in Tokyo, nearly half showed positive interest.

For product discovery, AI preference reached 85% in Mumbai and Bangkok, and 80% in Shanghai, while Tokyo remained at 47%.

3.Social commerce usage continues to grow in all cities — Key channels are TikTok/Douyin and Instagram ●Over the past year, more than half of consumers in all cities except Tokyo used social commerce. Usage reached 95% in Bangkok, 93% in Shanghai, and 90% in Jakarta. Social commerce usage increased year-over-year in all cities, including London and Los Angeles. Tokyo remains low at 24%. ●The most widely used platform was TikTok/Douyin, particularly in cities where TikTok Shop is available (Shanghai, Bangkok, Jakarta, London, Los Angeles). In Mumbai and Seoul, Instagram and YouTube were most used, showing that short-video and image-driven social commerce remains strong even where TikTok/TikTok Shop is restricted.
