Single Parents Embrace Honest Dating with Early Conversations on Future Expectations
Single parents and second chances: Nearly 47% of singles with children discuss future expectations and priorities their first week of matching.
Everyone deserves a second chance at love, and so do single parents; though their journey can look quite different from that of most divorced and separated singles without children. It comes with a different level of honesty. There is no room for guesswork, a narrower scope of casual connections, and a stronger clarity and sense of what truly matters. A new online study by the Indian matchmaking and matrimony app for second chances, Rebounce, showed that over 47% of single parents discuss future expectations and priorities within the first week of matching.
The app’s Founder and CEO, Ravi Mittal, commented,
“For single parents, this is not just a romantic experience; it’s a thoughtful decision that just doesn’t affect them but also their children. Their matching style is much more intentional than that of regular daters or even childfree previously married singles. Singles with kids never try to fit the “perfect partner” image, looking to impress their match. In our experience, they are their most real self during the entire matchmaking process to ensure they find someone authentic and their matches are well aware of who they really are going to be beyond the honeymoon phase.”
The study was conducted among 7,639 divorced, separated, and widowed individuals with children who are actively using matchmaking and matrimonial apps, seeking a second chance at love. Respondents ranged in age from 28 to 45 and came from Tier 1 and 2 Indian cities. The study concentrates on how single parents are finding love with clarity, emotional maturity, responsibility, and a steady focus on long-term compatibility.
What Lies Ahead
Traditional matchmaking usually suggests taking things slow and avoiding talking about the future too soon, but matchmaking for single parents comes with a quicker dive into more serious topics. Almost half of the participants disclosed that they bring up topics like parenting style, living arrangement, relationship with the ex, and emotional readiness to raise someone else’s kid during the first week of interaction. They explained that it helps lay all the cards on the table, and leaves little to no room for miscommunication and expectation mismatch. 38% of women and 31% of men said that this conversation comes from practicality, not pressure. They said they don’t want to bond emotionally with someone who would later reveal their displeasure about life with children and family responsibilities.
Kids are not a sensitive topic.
The survey throws light on an interesting fact: single parents on matchmaking apps speak about their kids more freely than ever before. They don’t treat their children as a sensitive topic or try to break the news to their match after a few days of interaction, so as not to spook them out. Over 43% of single parents said they add their status to their bio or disclose it during the first conversation itself. 7 out of 10 participants said that they never feel that kids complicate their second shot at love; instead, they shared that they see their children as a part of their story, the one part that shaped them into the person that they are today. Anisha (35) from Delhi said, “Hiding the fact that you have a kid only complicates things later on. It’s entirely possible that a match, even someone who seems perfect for me, does not want the added responsibility of my kid. He deserves to know what he is getting into from the first chat.”
Compatibility comes in layers.
For regular daters or child-free previously married singles, compatibility is between them and their match. But for single parents, the kids come into the mix. For these users, compatibility is seen through the practical lens. 44% of single parents between 30 and 40 from metros and suburbs said they evaluate work schedule, lifestyle choices, emotional maturity, parenting capabilities before they check chemistry and attraction. Only if the former suits their children’s needs, they move on to getting to know the match. This does not kill romance, said 29% of men and women. In fact, they claimed feeling much more open with their match once their daily realities align. Sohan, 37 year old single dad from Orissa, said, “Attraction is not enough when you are a single parent looking for a partner. I need someone who can also fit into my reality that already exists, and also see if my kid and I can fit into hers without disrupting her rhythm.”

Odisha’s Investment Surge Powers Jobs, Growth, and a Brighter Economic Future
With fresh approvals worth over ₹4,500 crore and a strong policy push, Odisha is turning industrial investment into real opportunities for its people
Odisha is quietly but confidently reshaping its economic narrative. What was once seen primarily as a resource-rich state is now evolving into a dynamic investment hub—where policy intent is translating into real progress on the ground.
This shift is not accidental. It reflects sustained efforts by the state government to create an environment where businesses can invest with ease and confidence. The results are now visible. In a recent development, the Single Window Clearance Authority approved 23 new projects, bringing in investments exceeding ₹4,500 crore. More importantly, these projects are expected to create employment opportunities for over 10,000 people—an outcome that directly impacts families, communities, and local economies.
Behind these numbers lies a deeper story of governance and reform. Odisha’s focus on simplifying procedures and improving transparency has made a tangible difference. The Single Window system, designed to reduce delays and eliminate complexity, signals a shift toward a more responsive and efficient administration. For investors, this means fewer hurdles; for the state, it means faster execution and stronger industrial momentum.
The Odisha Budget reinforces this direction. By prioritizing infrastructure, industrial growth, and skill development, the government is not just encouraging investment—it is preparing the state to sustain it. Roads, logistics networks, and industrial corridors are being strengthened, while parallel investments in education and training aim to ensure that the workforce is ready for new opportunities.
What makes this growth story particularly meaningful is its human dimension. Industrial expansion is often discussed in terms of capital and output, but in Odisha, it is increasingly about livelihoods. Each new project carries the promise of jobs, stability, and upward mobility for thousands of individuals. The emphasis on skill development further ensures that these opportunities are accessible to the local population, creating a more inclusive growth model.
Odisha’s journey is still unfolding, but the direction is clear. The convergence of investment, policy reform, and employment generation is laying the groundwork for a more resilient and diversified economy. As these projects move from approval to implementation, they will not only strengthen industrial capacity but also deepen the state’s social and economic impact.
In many ways, Odisha today represents a model of steady, purposeful progress—where ambition is matched by execution, and growth is measured not just in numbers, but in the lives it touches.

Fed Holds Rates Steady Amid War Uncertainty; Powell Signals Slower Inflation Progress, Upgrades Growth Outlook

By Naval Kagalwala, COO & Head of Products, Shriram Wealth Ltd
“Amid steady economic growth and uncertainties from the ongoing war, the FOMC held its policy rates in the March policy meeting, maintaining the target range of 3.5-3.75%. In his post policy speech, the Chair noted a slower progress on inflation going ahead, while also undermining fears around stagflation. The dot plot showed an upward revision in both inflation as well as growth when compared with previous forecasts. Mr Powell noted that higher oil prices would put some downward pressure on spending and employment and upside risks to inflation, though these were said to be offset by higher energy production in the US.
Following Fed’ remarks on limited progress on disinflation, US 10Y Treasury yields moved up to 4.27%. In less than a month, the yields have moved up about 34 bps from an intra-day low of 3.93%. This could be a tactical opportunity for investors looking to invest in US$ fixed income paper. US equities were also down around 1.4%. India sovereign bond yields may witness a continued uptick in yields, while participants await the market borrowing distribution for FY27.”

US University Boosts Sustainability with 21 Philips ePaper Displays for Energy & Paper Savings

Leading US university reinforces commitment to sustainability with installation of 21 Philips Tableaux ePaper displays for instant energy and waste paper reductions
Creating a more sustainable campus: Pittsburgh-based Duquesne University – one of the nation’s top Catholic colleges – turned to PPDS to seize the sustainable and financial benefits of its groundbreaking ‘zero power’ Philips Tableaux ePaper displays, eliminating paper waste while enhancing communications to its 8,000 students.
Amsterdam, March 2026: PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays and complementary solutions, is excited to announce the successful installation of 21 Philips Tableaux ePaper signage displays at Duquesne University, with the range bringing instant energy savings and waste cutting benefits, as well as delivering on a more informed and sustainable campus.
Founded in 1887, Duquesne is among the top 15% educational institutions in the United States. A top ranked private Catholic university in Pittsburgh, it caters for 8,000 students from 80 countries and over 3,000 faculty and staff.
As the university continues to experience exponential growth, both in appeal and in size, its scenic 49 acre (198,300 m2) campus overlooking downtown Pittsburgh continues to evolve, with the university placing a growing focus on enabling students with the latest technologies both in and outside of the classrooms.
Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and with a commitment to sustainable ecologies – which saw them recently named on the Princeton Review List of Green Colleges – the team researched the global ePaper market and turned to PPDS to seize the opportunities of the technology to replace the tired paper directories used around its campus.
Concluding the in depth analysis, Philips Tableaux ePaper displays were selected as the standout choice to achieve the team’s ambitions, with a fleet of 21x 32” 5150 and 25” 4050 Philips Tableaux installed in classrooms, study areas, and hallways.
As with other installations of Philips Tableaux ePaper displays – most recently inside the Institut Pasteur’s HQ in Paris – the Philips Tableaux range provides Duquesne University with incredible levels of flexibility and adaptability, interchangeable for a wide range of uses – from wayfinding and safety notices, cafeteria menus and event information, and many more. This includes in areas with limited power sources.
Light in weight and fully portable, Philips Tableaux models used on campus are capable of displaying full colour imagery for days, weeks, months, or even years without using a single kilowatt of energy, only requiring a small amount of electricity (0.0025 kWh for the 25” model) during content changes.
Instant benefits
Running on an Android SoC, Philips Tableaux displays can be managed and updated remotely via a content management or remote display management system such as Philips Wave or as chosen by the team at Duquesne, content can be updated manually via a USB drive.
The project has been deemed a major success, and a second rollout phase is set to include Philips Tableaux displays in other buildings around the campus, including the School of Nursing, the School of Liberal Arts, and the College of Medicine.
Lauren Turin, Director of Classroom Technologies, Duquesne University, commented: “We have eliminated the need for complicated installation, and we are saving on the cost of paper, printing, and time. So, the cost per department is more economical in the long run. When our directories need an update, we use a USB drive with the content and an extension cord for power. The time it takes to update the directory is quicker than the time it takes to walk to the building.”
PPDS Director of Education, Patrick VanTreese, added: “With sustainability now an important focus for businesses and in education, ePaper has become a real game changer, opening new opportunities to reduce wastage, save on costs, and create new opportunities to communicate. We’re delighted to have supported Duquesne University, delivering on their ambitions with our Philips Tableaux range.”

Mar 19: Excellent Publicity has released its annual 2024–2025 media study, based on insights from TAM AdEx, offering a comprehensive view of how India’s advertising industry evolved over the past year.
The report highlights that 2025 was defined by steady, intent-driven growth, rather than sudden spikes, with advertisers strategically allocating budgets across Print, Radio, Television, and Digital platforms based on audience engagement and performance.
Key Highlights of 2025
-
Television ad spends per channel grew by 32.5%
-
Print recorded an 8% increase, with 1.46 lakh advertisers and 1.78 lakh brands
-
Radio saw a 1% annual growth
-
Digital rebounded strongly, achieving 3× growth compared to 2022
-
Digital platforms recorded 2.31 lakh+ active brands, the highest ever
-
96.5% of digital ads were delivered through programmatic buying
Print Media: Stability with Strong Regional Influence
Print continued to demonstrate reliability and depth, supported by its wide reach and credibility. Maruti Suzuki’s car range emerged as the top advertiser. Rajasthan contributed 15.1% of total share, while New Delhi led among cities at 7.3%. Key categories such as cars (+29%) and retail jewellers (+16%) showed strong growth.
Radio Media: Urban Growth and Financial Category Surge
Radio maintained steady momentum, driven largely by urban markets. Real estate and automobiles remained dominant categories, while Corporate NBFCs grew 15× and banking services rose 99%. Maharashtra (18.9%) and Delhi (18.3%) together accounted for over 32% of total radio advertising.
Television Media: Sports and High-Growth Categories Lead
Television reaffirmed its dominance as a powerful traditional medium. Star India held the highest advertiser share at 19%. High-growth categories included smartphones (+89%) and two-wheelers (+83%), while the sports genre contributed 61.5% of total TV advertising.
Digital Media: Strongest Comeback Across Platforms
Digital advertising saw the most dramatic turnaround after a slowdown in 2024. E-commerce led with an 11.7% share, with Flipkart emerging as both the top advertiser and most active brand. Categories like AV auxiliaries (13× growth) and fashion retail (8× growth) highlighted expanding digital adoption.
Industry Perspective
Commenting on the findings, Vaishal Dalal, Co-founder & Director of Excellent Publicity, said:
“Brands in 2025 focused on making smarter, more selective choices rather than spreading themselves across every platform. Television regained strength, digital made a strong comeback, print remained stable, and radio continued to build strong local connections. Advertisers increasingly chose platforms based on the outcomes they wanted to achieve.”

“2026 is the year where control becomes the new foundation of trust and truly having control over where our data is accessed and located,” said Rick Martire, General Manager, Sovereign Services at Rackspace UK.” By partnering with Rubrik, we are providing UK enterprises with the autonomy they need to recover from cyber threats while meeting the highest standards of digital sovereignty.”
“Our joint solution isn’t just about where data is stored – it’s about who has the authority to protect and restore it,” added David Kosman, Vice President, Global Managed Service Providers at Rubrik. “For UK public sector bodies and regulated enterprises, today’s announcement is a major leap forward in national cyber resilience. The evolution of our close partnership with Rackspace – which began with our strategic collaboration to deliver isolated recovery environments – continues to support enterprises that need strong security and compliance.”
