Cityflo and SOCIAL bring Mumbai its first experiential Bar Hop on a high-energy party bus

Mumbai, Dec 12: Cityflo, the premium mobility platform transforming intra-city travel, partnered with SOCIAL to host Mumbai’s first-ever experiential Bar Hop designed to introduce a new way for the city to move, connect, and celebrate. The event, which took place on Saturday, December 6, brought 30 guests together for a four-hour, high-energy ride across three SOCIAL outlets, transforming a commute into a cultural experience.

2 (2)

For Cityflo, the Bar Hop marks the start of a new direction which explores how buses, traditionally seen only as a functional transit medium, can become spaces for culture, community, and shared experiences.

The journey began at Capital SOCIAL, where guests sampled #drnks from the new Big Drop menu before boarding the Cityflo party bus. With a DJ onboard and guided interactions, the ride set a new benchmark for what an onboard experience can feel like. The group then travelled to Khar SOCIAL and finally to Versova SOCIAL, enjoying a different drink at each stop, along with games, music, and a format that celebrated Mumbai’s neighbourhoods through movement.

Speaking on the collaboration, Sankalp Kelshikar, Chief Marketing Officer, Cityflo said,

“Cityflo has always been known as a dependable, reliable partner for the daily home-to-office commute. With this collaboration, we wanted to create a unique onboard experience that shows a bus can be a fun, engaging space on wheels that everyone in the city can be part of.

Our partnership with SOCIAL was a seamless fit. Their approach to designing hyperlocal, culturally rich experiences aligns closely with Cityflo’s vision of building bespoke solutions for the city’s hubs. The success of this event sets the tone for the new formats we’re excited to unlock across community-led gatherings, concerts and more, alongside serving your everyday commute”, adds

Speaking about the success of the debut edition, Divya Aggarwal, Chief Growth Officer, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said:

“Mumbai is a city that lives between neighbourhoods; constantly moving, constantly discovering. We wanted to create an experience that didn’t just introduce a new drinks menu but reflected how the city truly connects. The Bar Hop was our way of turning mobility into a cultural canvas: a space where strangers become a community, where each stop becomes a story, and where the journey is just as memorable as the destination. For us, this is what innovation looks like not just a new product, but a new way to experience it. The response reminded us that Mumbai is always ready for ideas that bring people together in meaningful, joyful ways.

For SOCIAL, featuring playful reinterpretations, bold new signatures, and all-day highballs. Guests experienced a different #drnk at every stop, turning the night into a tasting trail that reflected the spirit of the city.

The first edition of the Cityflo x SOCIAL Bar Hop brought together movement, culture, and community three elements central to Cityflo’s evolving view of what urban mobility can become. With strong turnout, vibrant citywide buzz, and an enthusiastic response, the event lays the foundation for more immersive, mobility-led experiences in the months ahead.

Bengaluru, Dec 12: Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, today unveiled a renewed strategic vision #PoweringInnovationforIndia that places people-centric innovation, Indian talent, and India-led product development at the heart of its next phase of growth in the country.

JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia

Marking 30 years of operations in India, Samsung’s new vision reinforces its commitment as a long-standing partner in India’s digital transformation, Make-in-India manufacturing ambitions, and innovation-driven economic growth. Since entering India in 1995, Samsung has expanded from introducing televisions that redefined home entertainment to establishing one of the world’s largest mobile manufacturing facilities in Noida, driving India-built innovations that now power its global ecosystem.

With revenue of INR 1.11 lakh crore, Samsung is the only brand in India with a truly end-to-end AI ecosystem, bringing Galaxy AI (smartphones, tablets, wearables), Bespoke AI (refrigerators, washing machines, and ACs), and Vision AI (televisions and smart monitors) together through SmartThings.

“From selling our first TV in India in 1995, when liberalisation was unlocking new possibilities to becoming the most trusted technology partner for Bharat today, Samsung’s journey has been shaped by India’s confidence, creativity, and limitless ambition. As the most loved and widely adopted brand inside Indian homes through our smartphones, TVs, digital appliances, and a seamlessly-connected ecosystem we are proud to make lives better every day for millions of Indian families. Young Indians expect technology to be secure, intuitive, and always evolving, and we are committed to delivering personalised innovations for them. We believe the next era of meaningful global innovation will be led by India — where the future of smart homes, connected living, and intelligent devices is rapidly taking shape with AI that understands India’s cultural diversity. We will continue to work closely with the Government of India for a Viksit Bharat, creating a digitally empowered nation where innovation fuels inclusive progress and co-prosperity. Our vision is clear: to build advanced technologies here that will shape how the world lives, works, and connects tomorrow,” said JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia.

Powered by India: Innovation Begins with People

For 30 years, Samsung has believed in one simple philosophy: India powers innovation. Today, its two plants in Chennai and Noida, three R&D centres in Delhi, Noida, and Bengaluru, and a state-of-the-art design centre in Delhi NCR are shaping Samsung’s next era of people-centric technology with India at the heart of its global roadmap.

Samsung Design Delhi is building experiences that feel uniquely Indian. These are innovations that understand the country’s culture and creativity. Breakthroughs born here from Kids TV, which creates safe and meaningful learning for digital-native children, to vibrant CMF designs for Galaxy M and F Series reflect Samsung’s belief that design must begin with people.

Similarly, across its R&D ecosystem, Samsung teams are leading advancements in AI, accessibility, streaming, and digital displays along with pushing the boundaries of language intelligence and next-generation networks. As one of India’s leading private sector patent filers, with over 14,000 patents, Samsung is also showcasing India’s role as an innovation powerhouse.

Investing in India’s Future Innovators

Samsung’s vision of #PoweringInnovationForIndia goes beyond just products, as the company is expanding its university collaborations and open innovation initiatives with Indian startups ensuring that more ideas born in India scale globally.

Similarly, through initiatives such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung Innovation Campus, and Samsung DOST, Samsung is nurturing India’s next-generation workforce, aligned with the requirements of Industry 4.0. Samsung is providing students across the country access to grants, incubation support, skills in AI, IoT, digital technologies, and employment opportunities. Over our journey, Samsung’s CSR programmes have reached and benefited around 1.5 million individuals across India, advancing education, sustainability, and digital inclusion.

Samsung’s India journey began in 1995, and over three decades the company has grown with the nation to become its largest mobile phone and consumer electronics brand, with advanced manufacturing, robust R&D and design capabilities, lakhs of retail touchpoints, and a pan-India workforce. Over 3,000 authorised service points and 12,000 service engineers across urban and rural India showcase Samsung’s commitment to its customers.

Strengthening its India presence further, Samsung expanded its exclusive retail footprint beyond Samsung Opera House in Bangalore and opened its first flagship lifestyle store Samsung BKC in Mumbai. Besides, it recently opened a state-of-the-art Business Experience Studio in the city, offering immersive consumer and enterprise technology showcases alongside its Business Experience Studio in Gurugram.

Leptospirosis Risk Surges as Extended Monsoon Hits Mumbai Region

Mumbai, Dec 11: A coordinated medical response at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road helped save the life of Mrs. Seema Dhumal (name changed), 51, from Khar who arrived in a near-exsanguinated state due to severe leptospirosis. Her sudden decline and multi-organ failure placed her among the most critical cases seen this year. Her recovery now highlights the importance of early awareness and timely treatment during the monsoon season.

Mrs. Dhumal reached Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road with acute respiratory distress, heavy bleeding, and severe lung involvement. She showed blood loss from the mouth, lungs, and endotracheal tube. The team found she had DIC, a dangerous clotting disorder, and acute kidney failure that required urgent dialysis. Patients with this mix of issues face high risk and need fast, structured action.

doctor

Under the leadership of Dr. Aklesh Tandekar, Head and Consultant of Critical Care, experts from Critical Care, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Infectious diseases, and Hematology team worked in full coordination at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road. The team used advanced ventilation strategies, dialysis support, blood products, and strict round-the-clock monitoring.

As care progressed, her bleeding stopped. Her lungs cleared. Her clotting system stabilised. Her kidneys responded to dialysis support. In time, she was weaned off the ventilator, marking a major turning point in her recovery.

Dr. Tandekar noted that this case shows the strength of fast diagnosis, tight teamwork, and evidence-based intensive care.

Today, Mrs. Dhumal is stable and improving at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road. The hospital urges the public to stay alert for early symptoms of leptospirosis, avoid stagnant water, wear protective footwear, and seek medical help without delay.

Areas with high population density like Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and the Vasai–Virar region face high risk of leptospirosis during the monsoon. This year, the monsoon extended two extra months, which raised exposure to contaminated water. By October 2024, these zones reported 18 deaths.Data from the Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2024–25 shows a sharp rise in leptospirosis deaths statewide. Maharashtra recorded 26 deaths in 2024, up from eight in 2023. That is a 225% increase, even though cases dropped from 1,484 in 2023 to 953 in 2024.

Leptospirosis spreads when people come in contact with water mixed with urine from infected animals, mainly rats. Rat urine carries the bacteria and can enter the body through small cuts in the skin. Flooded roads, waterlogging, and poor waste control raise this risk.

Inaugurated by face of the brand, Prajakta Koli, this is Mumbai’s largest of the 64 stores already in existence. This move also signals a strong next step in Go Colors’ retail expansion journey, following the successful launch of similar flagship formats in Chennai and Bangalore.

At a time when Indian women are choosing comfort, versatility, and everyday confidence over fleeting trends, Go Colors firmly positions itself as a wardrobe essential for today’s life. From office hours to casual days, travel, weekends, and celebrations, well-fitted bottoms form the foundation of how women dress and feel. The new flagship store offers consumers a far more immersive and intuitive shopping experience, complete with dedicated category zones, collection walls, curated occasion edits, and spacious trial rooms. Here, consumers can discover the brand’s extensive range of bottom wear – across fits, fabrics, sizes, colors, and silhouettes for women of all age groups, body types, and lifestyles – under one roof.
