Youth Climate Activism Empowering the Changemakers of Tomorrow

The climate crisis is now not a distant reality. However, despite growing global awareness, climate change education remains a missing piece in the puzzle. UNESCO’s report across 76 countries reveals an alarming gap: while sustainability and environmental topics account for 50% of curricula in grades 3, 6, and 9, climate change gets a dismal 21% share, and biodiversity fares even worse at just 12%. What’s more troubling? In comparison to science curricula, social sciences rarely cover these topics, giving young minds less exposure. We often ignore the power of school education and young minds for a greener future. This has led to changemakers of tomorrow and education being lower in the priority levels in the global climate agenda—something we can no longer afford.
The Rise of Youth Climate Activism
Youth Climate Activism is not a high-profile figure task but has reached a grassroot movement where diverse people come together. In recent years, young leaders have emerged, inspiring millions with their activism. To pacify that social media platforms have become vital tools for spreading awareness, organizing campaigns, and building communities, proving that age is no barrier to creating impactful change. Schools can play a major role in this.

This will give the ability to integrate climate change into mainstream instruction and equip the next generation to address the defining issue of our time. Empowering young climate activists is not just about ensuring a sustainable future; it is also a collective responsibility. Brightsun Travel Promotes Benefits of Organ Donation and Blood Donation to Save Lives

Gurugram, June 5, 2025 — Reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and employee engagement, Brightsun Travel hosted an organ donation awareness workshop at its Gurgaon office. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sumit Sharma, a prominent Urologist and Director of Urology and Kidney Transplantation at Shalby Sanar International Hospital, one of the leading super-specialty hospitals in Gurgaon. The event aimed to encourage voluntary contributions to public health and dispel common myths around organ donation in India.
The highlight of the day was an impactful presentation titled: Organ Donation: Concepts, Scope, Myths & Beliefs, where Dr. Sharma illuminated the pressing need for organ donors in India and addressed widespread misconceptions that hinder donor registration.
“Over 5 lakh people die in India annually due to non-availability of organs. Yet, awareness remains staggeringly low,” stated Dr. Sharma. He emphasized that one donor can save up to eight lives and urged attendees to pledge their organs, and busted myths related to religion, age, and medical suitability.
Held on May 28 at the Brightsun Travel Gurgaon office, the event saw participation from over 110 attendees, including employees, volunteers, and members of the local community. The company collaborated with Rotary Club for blood donation camp which marks the third consecutive year collaboration for blood donation drive, continuing its commitment to life-saving initiatives.
The session concluded with a live Q&A, followed by an organ donor pledge corner where several attendees took the first step toward becoming donors.
