Manufacturing IT Summit 2025 Set to Redefine Industrial Tech in India

30th May, Mumbai, India – The thrum of machines is being replaced by the hum of data. A leading Indian manufacturing enterprise undertook a bold digital transformation journey to modernize its production ecosystem and future-proof its operations. The company faced challenges typical of large-scale industrial setups—frequent equipment breakdowns, inefficiencies in maintenance scheduling, and delays in part replacement. To overcome these hurdles, they adopted a smart manufacturing framework centred on connectivity, automation, and data intelligence.

The transformation began with the deployment of IoT sensors across critical machinery, enabling real-time data capture on performance indicators like temperature, vibration, and load. This data was then analysed through AI-powered predictive maintenance tools, allowing the team to anticipate equipment failures before they occurred. In parallel, the company leveraged 3D printing to produce customized replacement parts on demand, significantly reducing repair time. Robotic automation was introduced for repetitive and hazardous tasks, improving safety and consistency on the shop floor.

The result was a highly responsive and connected factory floor that saw a 25–30% reduction in unplanned downtime, improved operational efficiency, and better resource utilization. Empowering Oil Palm Farmers: 3F Oil Palm and AP Govt. launch awareness campaign in 50 villages

New Delhi, 29th May 2025: 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Andhra Pradesh, has initiated an extensive farmer awareness program aimed at promoting sustainable oil palm cultivation across the state. The initiative is being conducted in Eluru, West Godavari, and East Godavari districts, covering a total of 50 villages.

Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and expert consultations, the campaign seeks to empower farmers with the knowledge and tools necessary to increase productivity and profitability.

oil palm

India currently imports over 60% of its edible oil requirements, with annual imports exceeding 13 million tonnes. To counter this, the Government of India launched the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) with the goal of bringing an additional 6.5 lakh hectares under oil palm cultivation by 2025–26.

Andhra Pradesh plays a pivotal role in this mission, contributing more than 60% of India’s total oil palm cultivation. With over 1.5 lakh hectares currently under oil palm, the state is a key driver in reducing dependency on imports and enhancing domestic production.

“This joint effort underscores the commitment of both 3F Oil Palm and the Horticulture Department to boost the oil palm sector in the state and contribute to the larger goal of self-reliance in edible oil production. The program is expected to directly benefit hundreds of farmers, creating a ripple effect in improving oil palm cultivation standards across the region,” said Mr. Srinivas Rao kilari, Head Agri, 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd.

General Insurance Council launches ‘Achha Kiya Insurance Liya’ campaign to bridge awareness gap in India’s non-life insurance market

Mumbai, May 29, 2025: The General Insurance Council (GIC) of India, the apex industry body representing all non-life insurers in India, has launched a nationwide awareness campaign titled ‘Achha Kiya Insurance Liya’. Aligned with the ambitious goal of “Insurance for All by 2047”, the initiative aims to normalize insurance as an everyday financial safeguard and focuses on bridging the significant perception and trust gap in uptake of general insurance.

As per research conducted by General Insurance Council, awareness around insurance products such as motor, life, and health insurance are relatively high—motor insurance being the most purchased at 34%, followed by life at 27% and health at 15%. Other insurance categories such as home, travel, and crop insurance remain underutilized and under-promoted. Penetration in rural areas continues to be low, with the exception of crop insurance, which is largely accessed via bank branches and agricultural service providers. The main triggers for insurance purchase include desire for safety and financial security, compliance with legal mandates (especially in the case of motor insurance), and growing concerns around rising healthcare costs. However, significant barriers continue to hinder widespread adoption.

gic

“There’s a clear disconnect between awareness and action. Insurance is still viewed more as a reluctant expense than a financial shield, the mindset shift is waiting to happen, and it begins with trust and relatability. ‘Achha Kiya Insurance Liya’ is our collective attempt to bring insurance closer to the lives and language of ordinary Indians. This is about demystifying insurance, making it relevant and rewarding not intimidating.” says, Dr. Tapan Singhel, Chairman, GI Council and MD & CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd.

In a bid to strengthen India’s financial resilience, the initiative highlights the essential role of general insurance in protecting one’s hard-earned savings and assets from unexpected events such as accidents, medical emergencies, property loss, and travel disruptions. By breaking down common myths and clearly presenting the benefits of various insurance types—including motor, health, home, travel, and crop—the campaign encourages individuals to take proactive steps toward securing their financial future.

The insights from the report shaped the campaign’s core narrative: making insurance conversations more relatable, frequent, and accessible in everyday life. Shifting away from using overwhelming and complex jargon or fear-led, & prescriptive messaging, the campaign showcases everyday stories told by pets to show how helpful insurance can be—highlighting the comfort of being prepared, the peace of having coverage, and the value of smart planning.

As India looks toward achieving universal insurance coverage by 2047 under the IRDAI’s vision, the ‘Achha Kiya Insurance Liya’ campaign is a step in the direction of sector-wide alignment bridging consumer gaps, building trust, and making insurance a mainstream financial choice for all. The General Insurance Council is also encouraging insurance companies to make policies easier to understand, simplify claim processes, and offer flexible payment options. The idea is not just to sell policies but to build enduring confidence in the system, reinforcing the industry’s role as a reliable partner in people’s financial journeys.

DEE Development Reports Record Rs289 Cr Income and Rs32 Cr PAT in Q4 FY25, EBITDA Margin at 22.9%

Mumbai, 29th May 2025: DEE Development Engineers Limited (herein referred to as “DDEL”), one of the most trusted names in the Process Piping Solutions, announced its Q4 FY25 and FY25 results today. The Board of Directors of DDEL at its meeting held on 29th May 2025 took on record the audited Financial Results for the Financial Year 2024-25.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Krishan Lalit Bansal, Chairman, DEE Development Engineers Limited said:

“We are delighted to share that the company has delivered strong, broad-based growth in the fourth quarter of Financial Year 2025.

In Q4 FY25, our total income reached ?28,897 Lacs, reflecting a strong 16.1% year-on-year and 79.4% quarter-on-quarter growth. For the full year, total income stood at ?84,826 Lacs, representing a 5.1% increase over FY24. Our orderbook as on April 30, 2025 stood at ?1,27,458 Lacs.

Our operational performance remained resilient, with EBITDA rising to ?6,611 Lacs in Q4 FY25 — a 63.9% YoY and 1,284.9% QoQ growth. The quarterly EBITDA margin stood at 22.9%, up by 667 basis points YoY. For the full fiscal year, EBITDA came in at ?14,466 Lacs, up 20.0% YoY, with the EBITDA margin improving by 211 basis points to 17.1%.

Our profitability also witnessed strong growth, with Profit After Tax (PAT) for Q4 FY25 standing at ?3,151 Lacs, marking 165.5% YoY growth. The PAT margin for the quarter was 10.9% registering a growth of 614 basis points. For FY25, PAT stood at ?4,363 Lacs, marking a growth of 66.5% YoY.

Our Anjar Facility expansion is progressing as scheduled, with an additional 15,000 MTPA set to be commissioned by October 2025, taking the Anjar facility’s total capacity (excluding heavy fabrication) to 30,000 MTPA.

Designed with a U-shaped layout and equipped with advanced automation, the plant enables efficient material handling, reduced operational costs, and boosting productivity. Its strategic proximity to Kandla and Mundra Ports enhances logistics efficiency and profitability. By focusing on the Oil & Gas sector, Anjar frees up the Palwal facility to specialize in the Power sector, improving overall operational focus and resource allocation.

Simultaneously, the development of our high-wall seamless thickness pipe plant is advancing on schedule. We remain firmly on track to commence commercial production by January 2026 — a key step in our backward integration strategy aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and cost competitiveness.

As covered in the press release earlier this month, we are deeply disappointed with the recent downward revision of the tariff order for our two biomass power plants, issued by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission. It is our firm belief that the decision is legally untenable and also fails to reflect the ground realities of operating dedicated biomass power plants. Unlike co-generation units that use industrial by-products like bagasse, our plants rely solely on externally sourced paddy straw—a costly and logistics-intensive fuel. By equating two fundamentally different models, the Commission has made assumptions that are arbitrary and unsustainable.

This decision undermines years of work toward rural empowerment and environmental protection. Our plants have prevented stubble burning across over 80,000 acres annually, provided livelihoods to more than 8,000 rural families, and directly supported India’s climate goals. Ignoring these contributions sets a worrying precedent for the future of green energy in India.

We urge the authorities to revisit this matter with fairness and vision. Our projects are more than just power plants—they are instruments of social, economic, and environmental transformation.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to operational excellence, strategic technology investments, and sustainable growth.

We will continue to adapt our strategies to ensure long-term value for all our stakeholders. We sincerely appreciate your continued trust and support, and we look forward to achieving new milestones together.”
