Soracom Partners to Expand iSIM Commercial IoT Growth
Collaboration with Sony Semiconductor Israel, Kigen, Murata, and Quectel to Accelerate Deployments
SEATTLE, US – August 2, 2023– Soracom, Inc., a global provider of advanced Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, today announced an expanded partnership to support commercial deployment of next-generation iSIM (Integrated Subscriber Identity Module) for Soracom customers. In June 2021, Soracom announced the completion of a joint iSIM Proof of Concept in collaboration with Sony Semiconductor Israel (Sony), a leading cellular IoT chipset provider, and Kigen, a global leader in secure authentication for cellular IoT devices. Today’s announcement expands this collaboration to include new iSIM-compatible modules from Quectel and Murata.
iSIM technology offers significant advantages over existing SIM and eSIM technology, including reduced physical size, simplified circuitry, minimal board footprint, improved processing capacity, greater energy savings, higher security, lower cost, and simplified commercial distribution. The iSIM standard integrates communication modules, SIM, and eSIM functions into a single System-on-Chip (SoC) device and offers a hardware-secured area within the chip for optimal data integrity.
“We are pleased to make iSIM technology available commercially and appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with global technology leaders to help accelerate this development,” said Ken Tamagawa, CEO and Co-founder for Soracom. “iSIM technology matches perfectly with Soracom’s Subscription Containers feature, which lets users download new profiles over the air as needed. iSIM represents the future of SIM technology, and this collaboration puts our customers at the leading edge of IoT development.”
“iSIM technology is a game changer for anyone who wants to secure data originating from connected devices, whether it’s for delivering unique customer experiences or for AI solutions,” said Vincent Korstanje, CEO of Kigen. “The commercial availability of iSIM on Soracom’s network is the result of extensive collaborative testing of the Kigen iSIM OS using the market-leading modules and chipsets.”
“We have been at the forefront of the development of iSIM technology, which will greatly contribute to the evolution of cellular IoT devices,” said Dima Feldman, VP of Product Management and Marketing, Sony Semiconductor Israel Ltd. “The combination of Soracom’s LPWA modules and iSIM technology accelerates implementation efforts for customers, allowing them to develop advantages in cost, size, security, and power consumption.”
Customer interest in iSIM-compatible products has increased steadily since 2021 and module vendors have expanded related product offerings. This partnership will allow interested Soracom customers to secure the Quectel BG773 and Murata Type 1SC iSIM-compatible modules for use in IoT deployments.
“Together with leading companies in the cellular IoT industry, we have developed a solution that will let our customers bring a new generation of IoT products to market,” said Akira Sasaki, General Manager of Communication Module Division, Murata Manufacturing Co. “This product is a compact, power-saving, low-cost cellular LPWA module that can be used in a variety of IoT applications.”
“We are very pleased to offer Soracom customers the BG773, an LPWA module with ultra-low power consumption and robust security that supports LTE Cat M1/Cat NB1/NB2,” said Michael Wallon, SVP Sales APAC + ANZ, Quectel Wireless Solutions Co. “By combining our iSIM-enabled communication modules with the Soracom connectivity platform, customers can easily implement integrated, cost-effective, sustainable and secure IoT solutions at scale, while streamlining their global IoT deployment and paving the way to a smarter world.”

ABOUT PALESTINE WRITES
Palestine Writes is the only North American literature festival dedicated to celebrating and promoting cultural productions of Palestinian writers and artists. Born from the pervasive exclusion or tokenization of Palestinian voices in mainstream literary institutions, Palestine Writes brings Palestinian cultural workers from all parts of Historic Palestine and our exiled Diaspora together with peers from other marginalized groups in the United States. Crossing multiple borders—geographic, linguistic, generational, and cultural boundaries—writers, artists, publishers, booksellers, scholars, musicians, and thinkers hold conversations about art, literature, and the intersections between culture and power, struggle, politics, climate change, sexuality, human rights, animal rights, food sovereignty, and more.

Dehlnavi Food Festival ITC Grand Chola August 3 – 6
The Madras Pavilion at the ITC Grand Chola welcomes diners to a 4-dayDehlnavi Food Trail from August 3 – 6, curated by ITC Hotels.
Experience the splendour of erstwhile Dilli and its vibrant culinary timeline. Over the years, varied communities have come to call the city their home and have given its cuisine a distinct, inimitable style. Dehlnavi cuisine combines Mughal magnificence and Punjabi effervescence, as well as the charms of the Vaishyas, Kayasths and Marwaris.
Served at homes, by food carts or at the high table, Delhi’s flavours, like her unique gharana, tell the story of the city. Successive settlers have invested in the city with their own heirloom flavours and sense of urbanity.
Dehlnavi attempts to recreate the rugged splendour of the Red Fort, the aromas of Chandni Chowk while retaining the old-world charm of erstwhile Dilli, with food that is rich in variety and flavour.

Delhi presents a mosaic of diverse tastes led by the city’s fondness for good food. Celebrating this unique blend of different cultures and flavours, the Dehlnavi Trail offers an experience of some of the most iconic delicacies of Dehlnavi treasures perfected by the master chefs at ITC Hotels.
Some of the offerings include:
- Mohabbat ka Sherbet: Delicious and refreshing combination of fresh watermelon, rose syrup, milk, sugar, ice cubes, and rose petals

The food trail will start off with chaats such as papdi chaat, and the unique kullekichaat, Bheke Kebab, Tulsike kebab from the walled city. Kullekichaat, for the unversed, is made by scooping out the centres of boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes or summer specials like watermelons, and filling them with a mixture of chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, spices, and tangy chutneys. The stuffed potatoes or watermelon are then garnished with a variety of toppings such as sev, coriander leaves, and chaat masala, which is a spice blend commonly used in Indian cuisine.
Besides the chaats, Dehlnavi cuisine trail will also feature kebabs and fish fry. While bheyke kebab or lotus stem kebabs will stand true to the earnest effort for uniqueness, the other offerings on Purani Dilli Fried Chicken and Fish Fry will reflect the vast diaspora of Mughlai kebabs and street foods of Delhi.
The main course, however will remain the highlight of the fare and perhaps for the first time ever, the vegetarian side will seem more enticing with Dal Dehlnavi served with a crisp biscuitty roti will catch your fancy. Imagine the tantalizing fragrance of slow-cooked moth and split moong dal, infused with the pungency of chopped chillies, roasted cumin, and ginger juliennes. As you dip the sweet, biscuit-like roti into the creamy and thick textured dal, a heavenly blend of flavours dances on your taste buds.
The nimona pulao will be as intriguing as the dal and biscuitty combination, since the usual nimona pulao has green peas (matar), it is given a unique spin with matar stuffed inside the salanmirchis! The matar paneer naize would be the perfect nod to rustic flavours and a smooth, creamy-like texture thanks to the pine nuts. The chatpate soya charra aloo mime the mock meat hype in Mughal corterie introduced by Bania community. While kunni dal which is slow cooked on a gentle flame with a blend of Bengal gram and black lentils is infused with a handful of secret spices and a hint of garlic, is sure to comfort you to no end.
The non-vegetarian fare on the other side will be as royal as it could get. Expect the all-time favourite Dilli Butter Chicken in luscious gravy with a velvety texture and an indulgent buttery taste that coats the tongue. The juicy and tender boneless chicken pieces perfectly cooked and complemented the buttery goodness of the dish, will guarantee a lasting impression on the taste buds. The extravagant Nihari and Gosht Pulao, irresistibly delicious will add the perfect touch of Mughlai to the unforgettable experience.
The dessert platter will be the perfect conclusion to the hearty meal – with Barf Ki Handi and decadent kheer (Khurchan) and gulab jamun.
Chef Rais who has been instrumental in laying the foundation of Dehlnavi as a brand will be orchestrating the trail, as our chefs take you on an immersive culinary journey, showcasing unique gems from our capital city.

The Impact of Technology on Sports Mat Safety and Injury Prevention
By Paras Maheshwari, Director, Gravolite
In recent years, technology has revolutionized various aspects of our lives, and the world of sports is no exception. One crucial area where technology has made a significant impact is sports mat safety and injury prevention. No doubt, technology has improved the safety of sports mats, reduced the risk of injuries, and enhanced athlete performance. By examining advancements such as sensor technology, impact-absorbing materials, and real-time feedback systems, we can gain a deeper understanding of how technology has transformed the landscape of sports mat safety.
Understanding Sensor Technology and Data Analysis:
One of the most significant advancements in sports mat safety is the integration of sensor technology. Sensors embedded within the mats can detect impact forces, athlete movements, and landing mechanics. This data can be analyzed in real-time, providing valuable insights into an athlete’s performance and injury risk. By tracking metrics like force distribution, angle of impact, and joint alignment, coaches and sports scientists can identify potential hazards and correct technique flaws before they lead to injuries.
Furthermore, the collected data allows for personalized injury prevention strategies. Athletes can receive detailed feedback on their landings, ensuring proper technique and reducing the risk of trauma. Additionally, by analyzing the data across multiple athletes, trends and patterns can be identified, leading to the development of new training protocols and injury prevention strategies.
Impact-Absorbing Materials:
Another critical aspect of sports mat safety is using advanced impact-absorbing materials. Traditional mats often lacked the ability to adequately absorb and distribute impact forces, resulting in an increased risk of injuries. However, with the advent of new materials, such as high-density foam and innovative gel-based substances, sports mats can now provide superior shock absorption capabilities, which is especially helpful in combat sports like Wrestling, Judo, etc.
These materials possess unique properties that dissipate impact forces, reducing stress on an athlete’s joints and muscles during landings. Additionally, they offer enhanced stability, reducing the likelihood of slips and falls. By minimizing the impact forces exerted on athletes’ bodies, these innovative materials play a vital role in preventing acute injuries, such as fractures and sprains.
Real-Time Feedback Systems:
Real-time feedback systems have become increasingly prevalent in sports mat safety and injury prevention. These systems utilize advanced technologies, such as video analysis software and motion tracking sensors, to provide instant feedback to athletes and coaches during training sessions.
By capturing an athlete’s movements and analyzing them in real time, coaches can identify potential injury risks, incorrect techniques, or imbalances. This immediate feedback allows for prompt corrections and adjustments, minimizing the chances of repetitive stress injuries and promoting safer movement patterns.
Furthermore, real-time feedback systems enable athletes to visualize their performance metrics and track their progress over time. By seeing their improvement firsthand, athletes are motivated to refine their techniques and reduce the risk of injuries, ultimately enhancing their overall performance.
There are many talented athletes in the world, but talent is not enough. The ability to constantly push your boundaries and break new benchmarks makes a good athlete. And in this case technology can help to understand one’s progress and create better infrastructure facilities to be on that path of continuous improvement. By providing valuable data insights, advanced materials, and instant feedback, technology has transformed the way athletes train, ensuring safer and more efficient performance on the sports mat. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect further advancements that will push the boundaries of sports mat safety, making sports participation safer and more enjoyable for athletes of all levels.
