Share My Space and Space traffic management

In 2022, for the first time in history, the private sector launched more tonnage into space than the world’s governments, and SpaceX’s Starlink broadband constellation is the most important reason why.
SpaceX’s broadband satellites had to change trajectory more than 25,000 times between December 2022 and May 2023 to avoid potential collisions, double the number of maneuvers in the previous six months .
Since 2019, the total number of maneuvers has exceeded 50,000 movements.
According to ESA estimates in its latest Space Environment Report, low-Earth orbit will be cluttered with more than 50,000 objects larger than 10 cm by 2100.
“By combining advanced detection capabilities with cutting-edge data analysis techniques, Share My Space enables proactive measures to be launched to protect satellite operations. This valuable information enables satellite operators and space agencies to make informed decisions on avoidance maneuvers and mission planning, while avoiding unnecessary energy-intensive operations” – Alexis Petit, CTO of Share My Space.
Share My Space, a young space company with a vision for Europe and the world.
Share My Space, a young French entreprise pioneering the space security ecosystem, envisions a bold future for the world in space through the use of independent, reliable commercial data for space surveillance. Faced with the growing challenges posed by the increasing number of satellites, rocket launches and the large amount of debris in orbit, the need for independent, reliable data is fundamental. Share My Space’s orbital information techniques, powered by state-of-the-art sensors, enable accurate and efficient tracking, monitoring and protection of space assets.
Founded in 2017, Share My Space has been selected by the France 2030 investment plan in the space sector. The company’s patented technologies include the MTOS, a multi-telescope observation station. Share My Space has two MTOS stations in France and one in Morocco, with a future target of six operational MTOS stations.
By actively monitoring space debris and collision risks, Share My Space helps satellite operators and space agencies to manage threats and adjust orbital trajectories. Protecting space assets not only ensures the provision of essential services, but also avoids disruptions that can have serious economic and societal consequences. Share My Space’s commitment to safeguarding space assets plays an essential role in ensuring a prosperous and secure future for Europe, with increased strategic autonomy.
Romain Lucken, co-founder and CEO of Share My Space, regularly refers to the political will to regulate Space: “There is public awareness and support for regulating Space, and regulations are being discussed and monitored internationally – Share My Space has become one of the promoters of this regulation for better management of space traffic in Europe and worldwide. We make this possible by observing and analyzing data, so that regulators can finally understand what’s going on up there. This service enables satellite operators to resolve anomalies and anticipate collisions”.
The process for meeting this challenge has already been identified. First, detection services identify objects of concern so that they can be tracked. Next, satellite and launch vehicle operators use this data to protect existing assets and limit pollution. Finally, in-orbit service providers reduce existing risks and remove the most problematic objects. Share My Space actively participates in the first two aspects of this action, thanks to its proprietary sensors and orbital information system. Share My Space also supports active debris removal services. Share My Space’s mission is to protect space assets and guarantee the viability of space operations.
Share My Space multi-telescope observation stations are a modular optical system that enables the detection, tracking and characterization of all space objects in view, in all orbits. Thanks to powerful on-board processing algorithms, it constantly scans the sky.
How does it work?
Our system consists of 4 passive telescopes, located at the same observation site, rotating synchronously. Their rotation speed is coordinated with the transit time of objects in the field of view to ensure that all space objects are detected, even at low altitudes of up to 300 km.Each telescope has its own remote-controlled mount, meaning that all 4 telescopes can also be controlled independently to further track and characterize specific objects.
Monitoring patterns can be modified throughout the night to capture objects in the most efficient way. Precise preliminary orbits are obtained using just a few images captured within seconds of each other. We exploit this data to obtain precise orbit estimates and detect maneuvers.
Our multi-source system catalog provides daily orbital data on a range of space objects, including measurements, preliminary orbits, adjusted orbits and potential orbital maneuver detection. Our catalog also includes information such as the visible magnitude and rotation speed of certain objects. As the number of stations and the size of telescopes increase, so does the size of our catalog.
ESA and the “zero debris” approach.
The “zero debris” approach was proposed to the ESA Council at ministerial level in 2022, and received strong support from member states. This new objective is a key element in the successful implementation of ESA’s Agenda 2025 and the new PROTECT gas pedal. The “zero debris” approach reinforces ESA’s efforts within the framework of the space security program and the associated “Clean Space” initiative.
The “zero debris” approach describes a series of actions and initiatives designed to help ESA take a strategic and proactive approach to safeguarding our space environment for future generations.
Zero debris: the need to meet stricter and more ambitious requirements for space debris reduction.
The world-leading “zero debris” approach will not only protect satellite operations and the safety of human life on Earth, but also ensure that all nations enjoy the benefits of space activities for many years to come.
In practice, this means cleaning up and keeping clean our precious space environment, and reducing the impact of our activities on the environment. The Agency is now inviting all European space professionals to discuss the latest developments, best practices and trends in the fields of eco-design of space activities, end-of-life management of space missions and in-orbit servicing, including the disposal of active debris.
Clean Space Industry Days (CSID) 2023 is a must-attend event for all space professionals and enthusiasts working on the design and realization of sustainable space missions! This year’s event will take place from October 16 to 20 at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

What Made in Mongolia Really Means

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, July 2023 – GOBI Cashmere (www.GOBIcashmere.com), the Mongolian brand synonymous with attainable luxury and traceability, creates cashmere collections sustainably that allow customers worldwide to experience the Mongolian difference when it comes to cashmere craftsmanship. Dedicated to preserving centuries-old nomadic traditions, fostering harmony with nature, and delivering a superior quality that can be felt at first touch, GOBI Cashmere is pleased to be honoring what it means to be #MadeinMongolia today.
At the heart of GOBI Cashmere’s story lies the enduring craft of Mongolian nomadic herders, whose lifestyle embodies sustainable living at its best. GOBI Cashmere was built with the vision to combine a harmonious blend of traditional practices with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, creating products that surpass expectations. All GOBI collections begin with the local nomadic herders who care for the goats from which cashmere fibers are sourced as though they are family. Goats are gently combed by the herders each spring ahead of the warm months of summer, and raw fiber is then transported to GOBI’s facilities where the team oversees every step of the process from fiber to finished product, ensuring ethical practices at every step.
Few companies in the world can provide as much traceability when it comes to the creation of their products, and GOBI prides itself on being able to share each garment’s production story all the way back to the individual herder and goat from which the raw fibers were sourced. The brand remains committed to supporting the local community, way of life, and economy by being 100% #MadeinMongolia, a badge that GOBI wears proudly.
Mongolia holds a well-deserved reputation as the world’s premier destination for cashmere production, attributed to a unique set of factors that set it apart from other regions:
Climate and Geography
The highest quality cashmere is the softest, and Mongolia’s harsh natural climate and rugged terrain provides ideal conditions for cashmere goats to thrive and produce an incredibly soft coat. The extreme cold temperatures in winter prompt the growth of a soft and warm undercoat on the goats, which is known as cashmere. The goats’ natural adaptation to the harsh environment results in the production of high-quality, densely-packed fibers.
Nomadic Tradition
Mongolia has a rich nomadic herding tradition, where communities have thrived on the vast steppes herding goats for millennia. The nomadic herders have developed a deep understanding of the goats’ behavior, grazing patterns, and nutrition, enabling them to manage and maintain the health of the herds effectively. GOBI upholds a unique tradition of nomadic life, while ensuring the production of comfortable, high-quality cashmere without depleting the land or causing harm to the animals.
By collaborating closely with these herders, the brand ensures fair and ethical practices that empower local communities. Through partnerships built on decades of trust and respect, GOBI Cashmere provides herders with a stable income and economic opportunities, elevating their quality of life and preserving their unique way of living. This dedication to traditional craftsmanship not only ensures the authenticity of their products but also supports the continuity of a rich cultural legacy.
Unique Characteristics
The cashmere produced in Mongolia is distinctive due to its natural luster, warmth, and softness. These unique characteristics make Mongolian cashmere highly sought after by luxury fashion brands and discerning consumers worldwide. GOBI Cashmere achieves a remarkable level of quality that rivals renowned luxury houses, while offering its garments at a fraction of the price. This is made possible through the company’s vertical integration and close personal relationships with the world’s top herders, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and access to the finest cashmere fibers at an attainable pricepoint for shoppers worldwide.
Fiber Quality
Mongolian cashmere is renowned for its exceptional quality. Cashmere’s quality is determined by its length and thinness, in other words, “microns”. Compared to the industry average of 19 microns, Mongolian Cashmere, or King Fiber, is the longest and thinnest ranging from 13-14 microns, which is considered extremely soft and results in a luxurious handfeel. The longer staple length of Mongolian cashmere fibers contributes to their durability and ability to be spun into high-quality yarns and fabrics. This quality can be felt in each collection produced by GOBI Cashmere, as the brand prioritizes the attributes for which Mongolian cashmere is renowned.
Sustainable Practices
When it comes to Mongolian cashmere production, acknowledging the interconnectedness of human activities with the natural world is paramount, and understanding the delicate ecosystems in which cashmere goats thrive ensures that every step of the production process is carried out with minimal negative impact on the environment. GOBI Cashmere only works with herders who adhere to traditional herding techniques that prioritize the well-being of the goats and the preservation of grazing lands.
Ethical Considerations
Mongolian cashmere is often associated with ethical practices. The traditional nomadic herding lifestyle ensures that the goats are free-range and not subjected to harmful practices such as mulesing. Mongolian herders prioritize the well-being of their animals and follow ethical guidelines for sustainable herding and fiber harvesting. GOBI Cashmere works exclusively with trusted herders who have embraced the practice of humane hand-combing of the fibers, resulting in an even more exquisite and comfortable cashmere. GOBI only works with a trusted few herders who treat their flock like family.
“As a Mongolian Cashmere brand,” states Unenbat Chuluunbat, CEO of GOBI Mongolian Cashmere USA Corp, “we take immense pride in embodying the harmonious union of heritage and innovation.”
This combination of climate, tradition, sustainability, and quality reaffirms Mongolia’s esteemed status as a leader in the cashmere industry. GOBI Cashmere continues to redefine the concept of luxury by embodying sustainability and elevating the Mongolian community that nurtures its exceptional products. With each exquisitely crafted piece, GOBI Cashmere weaves a story of harmony with nature, honoring centuries-old traditions, and empowering the communities that contribute to its timeless elegance.

Marinade launches first SOL native staking service with zero smart contract risk or fees
TORTOLA, WEDNESDAY, JULY 19, 2023: Marinade Finance, Solana’s leading staking platform and biggest project by total value locked (TVL), is announcing the launch of its first-ever native staking service. Marinade Native will allow users to stake SOL directly with over 130 network validators in one click, non-custodially with no smart contract risk.
Until now, those wishing to stake SOL natively with multiple network validators required multiple transactions, and also constant performance monitoring. Liquid staking enables staking through pools to multiple validators, however, it carries smart contract risk through an on-chain program.
This has made staking unattractive to many institutional investors who could not tolerate either the smart contract risk of liquid staking or the high concentration risk of relying on the performance of one validator. Currently, over 97% of all staked SOL (370 million SOL) is staked natively with individual validators, translating to an $8.1 billion opportunity for Marinade Native.
Marinade Native combines the delegation strategy concept of liquid staking with the non-custodial benefits of native staking, as users will never lose custody of their staked SOL. The average yield for Marinade Native staking is currently 7% APY* with zero management fees.
Moreover, Marinade’s smart delegation strategy, which uses a novel scoring system to select the top 100 validators based not only on yield but performance and decentralization, ensures users’ SOL is spread across a tested pool of validators. This formula determines which validators receive 60% of Marinade’s stake, while MNDE and mSOL token voting account for 20% each.
Cerba, Core Contributor of Marinade Finance, says: “The launch of Marinade Native marks a key milestone in the Marinade 2.0 rollout, which we are excited to deliver. Marinade remains a firm advocate of liquid staking, which offers a host of other benefits to users as well as the Solana ecosystem as a whole. However, we recognize that many institutional investors are balancing important risk considerations with returns, and for the first time they can now benefit from a stake delegation strategy with no smart contract exposure.”
“Our current community of mSOL and MNDE holders will also benefit. Because 20% of the Marinade stake pool is determined by MNDE token voting, the expansion that Marinade Native facilitates will ensure the MNDE token is increasingly appealing to validators. As a bootstrapped, community-first project launched with zero VC funding in 2020, it is important that our community remains involved in all governance decisions and benefits as the protocol grows.”
Other benefits for the Marinade community include:
- Marinade will offer additional MNDE incentives for Marinade Native for 12 months starting in August. This will raise the Marinade Native staking APY higher than the APY of staking directly with any individual validator.
-
These incentives also aim to attract large holders to move their stake from one validator into the Native product to earn both staking rewards and governance power, while also distributing their SOL stake across 100+ high-performing validators.
*Staking APYs change daily according to Solana epoch times and validator performance

- PepsiCo initially achieved this goal in 2021, four years ahead of schedule.
- Further reduced added sugars and sodium in its portfolio of products in 2022
- PepsiCo has 56% of its beverage portfolio volume[2] containing less than 100 calories from added sugars per 12-ounce serving, up from 53% in 2021.
- PepsiCo now has 68% of its convenient foods portfolio volume[3] at or below 1.3 milligrams of sodium per calorie, up from 66% in 2021.
- More than doubled its regenerative farming footprint in 2022 to greater than 900,000 acres globally
- PepsiCo has helped farmers become more resilient and has reduced carbon emissions from agriculture by more than 330,000 metric tons – the equivalent of taking more than 73,000 cars off the road for a year.
- Surpassed the company’s goal to achieve 10% Hispanic representation in U.S. managerial positions
- PepsiCo has met this goal three years early.
- Improved water-use efficiency by 22% in operations since 2015 in high water-risk areas[4]
- PepsiCo is now approaching its 2025 goal of 25%.
- Provided safe water access to another 12 million people in 2022
- PepsiCo has now provided safe water access to more than 80 million people since 2006.
Commenting on PepsiCo’s approach to engaging farmers and leveraging regenerative agriculture practices to address climate change, National Association of Wheat Growers CEO Chandler Goule said, “PepsiCo is at the forefront, demonstrating how food companies and producers can collaborate effectively to cultivate sustainable, affordable, and safe food. PepsiCo has made meaningful investments in agriculture, and they have led the way in engaging growers from the outset to ensure sustainability objectives are both attainable and mutually beneficial.”
The company acknowledged that it aspires to greater progress for packaging and emissions reductions. PepsiCo is working on plans to help advance its goals in these areas, prioritizing actions which are expected to make the biggest difference.
Commenting on the results, Jim Andrew, Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “Decoupling our business growth from our resource use is always going to be difficult but meeting our long-term targets is critical and we are rapidly learning how and where we need to adjust. We issued $2.25 billion in green bonds since 2019, and we have made – and will continue to make – substantial investments toward key parts of our pep+ agenda, including becoming net zero and reducing the use of virgin plastics. We will also work diligently to remove barriers to progress, many of which are regulatory in nature. The challenges to addressing systemic issues are enormous and it will take a multi-stakeholder approach to get to where we all want to be.”
Additional perspective from Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ramon Laguarta, and Jim Andrew about the progress toward PepsiCo’s planet and people goals, and the urgency of collective action to address systemic change, is provided in a video message.
PepsiCo is committed to providing transparent reporting and has been recognized by Corporate Secretary’s Corporate Governance Awards for three consecutive years, as “Best ESG Reporting” for a large cap company.
Complementing the 2022 ESG Summary, PepsiCo also published details on its approach and progress for more than 50 topics on the ESG Topics A-Z webpage. This year’s digital summary and all associated downloadable assets are available here.
