PW Student Secures AIR 1 in CA Inter; 4 Students in Top 50 via Online Classes

PW Student Secures AIR 1 in CA Inter; 4 Students in Top 50 via Online Classes

July 13, 2024,New Delhi : Physics Wallah (PW), India’s leading ed-tech platform’s student bagged All India rank 1 (AIR-1). 19-year-old Kushagra Roy from Bhiwani, Rajasthan, a student of PW’s online vertical, CA Wallah has scored 89.67% and achieved AIR-1 in CA Intermediate May 2024 examination. Alongside Kushagra, Rohan Gupta from Haryana achieved AIR-30, Armaan Khan from Seelampur, AIR-48, and Jai Sanjeev Karoshi from Maharashtra secured AIR-49. All four rankers had previously cleared their CA Foundation exams with the guidance of CA Wallah’s online batches.

Born to a father who himself has been a CA-aspirant and continues to dream of clearing this exam, CA Inter May 2024 AIR 1 Kushagra was part of PW’s CA Intermediate Udesh Regular (G1+G2) May 2024 batch. He took PW’s online classes to prepare for this exam; his first attempt; after successfully clearing the Foundation level, for which he prepared through online classes of CA Wallah.

Fulfilling his father’s dream and continuous support from him, he has been Kushagra’s biggest motivation. After the tragic demise of his mother, Lt. Mrs. Premshila Roy, in 2015, Kushagra’s father has single-handedly brought up both Kushagra and his elder brother, Kushal Kumar Roy; while managing the household chores and financially supporting the entire family.

Expressing his joy, Kushagra said, “I took to preparing at home with Physics Wallah’s (PW) online classes for this year’s CA Inter. My goal was to prepare for the test as much as I could and be ready for the examination. My father’s continuous motivation and support of PW’s classes helped me with an integrated approach building my practice and confidence. Even for CA Foundation, I studied from PW’s online classes and that was enough for me to score 336 out of 400. And today, I can proudly say that online education alone can get you AIR 1.”

Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of Physics Wallah (PW), shared his excitement over the results and said, “Our aim has always been to democratize education in India. We believe one shouldn’t just rely on paying hefty fees to get quality education and guidance. Our recent results in NDA, NEET, GATE, and now CA, with students securing All India ranks and even AIR from studying just online, prove that PW is making a significant impact in the lives of students. When I interact with students and hear their stories of achievement—students who didn’t even think of getting an education securing top ranks in competitive exams—I feel the happiest. These results are a testament to the quality of education we provide, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

PW’s CA Wallah, launched in October 2022, has already garnered a substantial following, with over 3.6 lakh students on its YouTube platform and over 2.5 lakh students on the PW app. The platform offers CA Foundation and Intermediate courses, taught by the best faculty in India. Weekly online sessions and marathon classes before exams ensure thorough preparation, while practice sheets with text solutions are available on the PW app.

From Fed to Fiction: Shaynuh Sloane’s Explosive Novel Jaded Choyce

From Fed to Fiction: Shaynuh Sloane's Explosive Novel Jaded Choyce

Washington, DC, July 13, 2024 –In her debut novel, “Jaded Choyce,” author Shaynuh Sloane pulls back the curtain on the dark underbelly of working as a woman of color in the federal government. Based on Sloane’s own experiences, this riveting story follows Chloe Choyce, a single mother and domestic abuse survivor, as she navigates a hostile work environment rife with racism, sexism, harassment and retaliation at multiple government agencies.

Despite Chloe’s talent, work ethic and commitment to public service, she finds herself repeatedly undermined, gaslit and set up to fail by toxic managers, including supervisor Felicia and the predatory Wyatt. Her attempts to seek help through official channels, like human resources and the union, only lead to further betrayal. Ultimately, Chloe is unjustly fired, prompting her to file an EEOC complaint to clear her name and hold her former employer accountable.

“Jaded Choyce” is an unflinching exposé of the systemic barriers, abuses of power and culture of complicity that persist in many government offices. Yet it is also an empowering tale of a Black woman advocating for herself and refusing to be silenced. With sharp insight and raw honesty, Sloane spotlights an issue rarely discussed openly.

“I wrote this book to validate the experiences of so many brilliant Black women whose careers have been derailed by workplace discrimination,” said Sloane. “My hope is that Chloe’s story emboldens others to speak their truth and demand change. No one should have their livelihood and mental health destroyed simply for doing their job while Black.”

“Jaded Choyce” is now available in paperback and ebook formats through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and independent booksellers.

The National Conference on School Leadership

The National Conference on School Leadership

Nashville, TN, July 13, 2024 — Givebacks, the industry standard in K-12 payments and giving technology, and Aura, the all-in-one online safety solution for individuals and families, are launching Digital Parenthood: Home Base, a program aimed at equipping parents with essential tools to raise confident and safe connected kids.

Earlier this year, the Los Angeles school board approved a cellphone ban all day on campus, and the U.S. surgeon general called for a warning on social media platforms, advising parents that they can damage teenagers’ mental health.

“As a father of four, I love the way technology creates opportunities for my kids to connect and learn, but it comes with its own set of risks that, as a parent, can be overwhelming,” said Hari Ravichandran, Aura Founder and CEO. “I found myself looking for resources that could help me and my family find balance in our connected lives, but I couldn’t find it. So, we got to work building it.”

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, parenting comes with unique challenges. Recognizing this, Givebacks and Aura have joined forces to help parents navigate digital parenthood with tools, training and resources that can be implemented right away.

The primary objective of this partnership is to empower parents of K-12 school-aged children with the knowledge and resources they need to support their kids’ healthy use of technology. The comprehensive training program will cover crucial topics such as online safety, digital literacy and fostering healthy digital habits.

“Our collaboration with Aura is a natural fit as we continue our commitment to supporting school communities and their families,” said Bob Costa, Co-founder & President of Givebacks. “Together, we can provide parents with the tools they need to safely guide their children through the complexities of the digital age.”

Digital Parenthood: Home Base not only provides vital support to parents but also underscores both organizations’ dedication to cultivating a safer and more confident generation of digital natives. K-12 school and PTA leaders are encouraged to nominate a Digital Safety Officer to participate in the “train the trainer” style program, enabling them to return to their “home base” to host training sessions with local parents about navigating their kids’ digital safety. There will also be three regional events across the U.S. that will take place in the first half of 2025.

ExcelPrep Adds Training and Apprenticeship Program in Autism Intervention for Educators and Practitioners

Champaign, IL, July 13, 2024 — ExcelPrep is excited to announce a training and practicum program for teachers and interventionists in Central Illinois. This Autism Behavior Practitioner is an apprenticeship in collaboration with the East Central Illinois Workforce Board and the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission. “This program was created to support the learning and social success of neurodiverse learners ages 5-13 and as a training resource within Central Illinois. As a member of national and state boards focused on speech-language pathology and quality indicators of autism intervention, it was exciting to formulate this apprenticeship in collaboration with the East Central Illinois Workforce and CCRPC,” says Landria Seals Green, Executive Director of ExcelPrep.

“Access to education, training, coaching, and mentorship are often pain points for systems and people that mean well. In thinking about systematic training, this team considered how teacher and interventionist training could be conceptualized in Central Illinois and simultaneously develop the workforce,” says Taylor Black, Apprenticeship Specialist. This apprenticeship is hybrid and lends educators and individuals with geographical and family systems support through a sustainable model of learning classes, hands on coaching, and focused mentorship. It is exciting to bring people and organizations in the Champaign-Urbana community training and coaching in autism centered in intervention, best practices, cultural responsibility, and family systems. The first cohort will begin August 2024. The goal of this Apprenticeship is to empower and add to the workforce through job creation for future and current behavior analysts and interventionists.

New Book Explores Why We Fear and Hurt So Much

New Book Explores Why We Fear and Hurt So Much

Elvas, Portugal, July 12, 2024 — Feeling vulnerable is our common denominator, believes author Bruce H. Joffe. “Being vulnerable is not a choice. It’s part of living. Responding to life situations requires individuals and societies at large to adapt and change … or be spurned and lost in the process,” he writes in his new book, Vulnerable: Why We Fear and Hurt So Much, just released by ImPress Publishing.

“For many, this need to adjust – to a hostile environment, uncertain economic times, tensions tugging at war and terrorism, extremist politics, racial injustice and religious intolerance, marginalization, spiritual voids, social disconnections, conflicting realities, artificial intelligence, etc. – is threatening, because it removes us from the safety nets and security blankets of our personal comfort zones, whatever they may be,” he says.

Through anecdotes and research, Joffe’s narrative explores why we fear and hurt so much:
“The Israelis surrounded by enemies who’ve sworn to exterminate them … the Palestinians in diaspora, annihilated in a land locked without home rule … the farmers surveying their parched fields, wondering whether they will yield any crops … the foreigners seeking asylum whose chances are greater for deportation, instead … the parents with no control over what their children are taught (or not) in school … the airplane passengers experiencing a flight with severe turbulence … those crippled by flooding and ever-increasing ferocious hurricanes … elsewhere, where there’s not enough water to go around … the faithful whose brothers and sisters have been massacred in their worship centers … the black men running from police … LGBT folks anxious their human rights will be rescinded … disenfranchised citizens unwilling to vote because they believe the system is rigged … those defending their rights to carry arms and maintain a “MAGA-FY!” lifestyle … the children separated from their parents, for whatever the reason … the scorned husbands or wives who cheat … the hospital patients awaiting anesthesia and the hand of a skillful surgeon … the forest fires devouring Canada, California, Portugal, and Greece … the garbage piling up everywhere … the investors worried about losing their money … the elderly scared about their Social Security stopping … the Russians annexing land to reclaim and expand their former empire amidst war in Ukraine … lying politicians speaking with vulgarity and threats, challenging justice and reprisals … plagues and pandemics … Iran and North Korea … China, too … the poor, the infirm, the captives, the homeless, the widows, the orphans … the perils and potential of artificial intelligence … death, disability, divorce, and disease. All those who hurt us.”
