Author Dr. David Ajeigbe’s New Book, What is Holding You Back

Author Dr. David Ajeigbe’s New Book, What is Holding You Back

Riverside, CA, June 10, 2024 — Dr. David Ajeigbe, a husband and a father of three sons who holds a doctor of philosophy degree in health-care services and has worked in the health-care system for over forty years, has completed his new book, “What is Holding You Back?!!!!”: a fascinating read exploring the many potential issues that could be holding oneself back from realizing their full potential and living their lives in accordance with God’s will for them.

For his love of caring for people, Dr. David Ajeigbe started his career in the health-care services in 1974 by working as a nursing assistant in Convalescent Homes for over eight years, assisting older adults with their activities of daily living. He proceeded to get his registered nursing license in California in 1982 and worked as a staff registered nurse and as a relief charge nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit for about sixteen years. He worked as a nurse manager in the emergency department for four years and as a nurse manager in the urgent care department for about eight years. He also worked as a nurse manager for two health-care service organizations. He retired from the active nursing profession in 2016. Upon retirement, the author obtained a real estate license and works as a realtor at present in California.

“Whenever humans are going through difficult times, they should realize that God is always ready to rescue them from their predicaments,” writes Dr. Ajeigbe. “However, humans have short memories; they soon forget how bad things were for them before God’s rescue. Therefore, instead of moving closer to God, they perceive a smaller problem as being bigger than the ones from which God had saved them.

“God is always faithful, and He never changes at all. He expects all to put their trust in Him since He is able and eager to solve human problems according to His will. The Lord is great, and so is His faithfulness. God demonstrated His great love to all humans that he allowed His son to be sacrificed to save them all. Christ gave so much importance to human life that He gave His own life to save theirs. Therefore, there should be nothing to hold humans back from doing His will or from achieving the best that God has in store for all.”

Riverbend School to Receive Generous Gift from Estate of Sheila and Frank Magullion

Riverbend School to Receive Generous Gift from Estate of Sheila and Frank Magullion

Natick, MA, June 08, 2024 — The former home of Sheila and Frank Magullion in South Natick, comprising two residential homes and over 5 and a half acres, will be gifted to Riverbend School, an independent Montessori school less than a mile away from the property.

In July 2023, Riverbend’s Head of School, Brooke Hopkins, learned of the Magullion estate when Dave Epstein, GBH News meteorologist, educator, and South Natick resident, was helping to facilitate end-of-life wishes for his dear friend Sheila Magullion. Mr. Epstein recognized the alignment between Sheila and Frank’s values and Montessori principles, which emphasize the interconnectedness of all life, conservation and environmental stewardship, and an appreciation for nature’s inherent gifts of groundedness and reflection. Indeed, Mrs. Hopkins, along with the Riverbend administrative team and Board of Directors, agreed that Riverbend is uniquely positioned to carry on the Magullions’ legacy in perpetuity.

Together, Mr. Epstein, Mrs. Hopkins, and Michael Tauer, Riverbend’s Board Chair, shared the School’s vision with Tom Hunnewell, Sheila and Frank’s long-time lawyer and who they named as their trustee and executor. Mr. Hunnewell agreed that the Magullions’ property would be put to excellent use in the hands of Riverbend.

To that end, Riverbend has created the Sheila and Frank Magullion Education and Retreat Center and plans to utilize the property to develop enhanced outdoor education opportunities for Riverbend students; host small events and symposia for teachers and other Montessori educators in the greater MetroWest area and beyond; and create a fellowship program for aspiring teachers as they pursue their Montessori training with a focus on attracting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, ensuring a varied pool of candidates. By prioritizing diversity, Riverbend aims to promote equity and inclusivity within its school environment and in Montessori schools across the country, thereby expanding access to classrooms in which all children see themselves reflected in the faculty and staff.

This generous gift from the Magullion estate will not only honor Sheila’s passion for nature and education but also strengthen Riverbend School’s commitment to fostering a holistic and nurturing learning environment. Riverbend School looks forward to integrating the property into its curriculum and strengthening the pipeline of Montessori trained educators, empowering a new generation of Montessori teachers to positively impact children for generations to come.

Riverbend School, founded in 2010, is an independent Montessori school in South Natick, MA, serving Toddler — 8th grade.

John Bowling’s New Book Lake Cora Haiku

John Bowling’s New Book Lake Cora Haiku

Paw Paw, MI, June 07, 2024 —- Fulton Books author John Bowling, who served for many years as a college professor, pastor, and university president, has completed his most recent book, “Lake Cora Haiku”: a powerful and poignant series of haikus prompted and influenced by the author’s time spent admiring the incredible beauty and landscape of Lake Cora.

“Lake Cora is a beautiful spring-fed lake located in the cradle of southwest Michigan’s orchards and vineyards. The lake is surrounded by a soft sandy shore, natural grasses, and stately trees. Though it is small and not widely known, locals affectionately call it the other great lake. Although Lake Cora is an ideal setting for water skiing, small sailboats, kayaks, and an occasional wave runner, it is primarily a quiet reflective setting for fishing, swimming, and a calm nightly parade of pontoon boats. As such, the lake gives rise to thoughts of nature and the nature of life. The ancient craft of haiku provides a vehicle to express such reflections,” writes Bowling.

“Haiku is a generally unrhymed poetic form traditionally consisting of seventeen syllables arranged in three lines of five, seven, and five syllables, respectively. Haiku is perhaps the most popular and best-known poetic form worldwide. These poems are deceivingly simple enough to be taught to children and yet have been the subject of doctoral dissertations and academic careers.”

Celebration of World Environment Day 2024 at Manipal Academy of Higher Education

 Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Manipal, 7th June 2024: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence, deemed to be university, one of India’s leading research-focused educational institutions, celebrated World Environment Day 2024 at their campus in Manipal, on 5th June 2024. With several dignitaries present, the event began at 9:00 AM and was flagged off by Dr. HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE. Among those present were Dr. Giridhar P Kini, Registrar, MAHE, Dr. Raviraja NS, Director-Planning and Monitoring, MAHE, and Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, MIT.

At 9:50 AM, the Institution Heads and Leadership Team planted saplings to set the event in motion. The dignitaries were called to the dais, followed by an invocation performed by the students at Mukunda Kripa School in honour of the celebration. Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana gave a welcome address, following which students Ms Shivani R and Mas Tanvi delivered talks on Environment Day in English and Kannada, respectively.

Addressing the audience, Dr. H S Ballal said, “It is of the utmost importance that we attempt to work with, rather than against mother nature. Development can only be ideal in achievement if the needs of future generations are also kept in mind. We must stay away from selfish, harmful practices of production and work towards a future where humanity and environment perfectly co-exist.”

Providing a message on Environment Day, Dr. Giridhar P Kini said, “World Environment Day is a call to remember the importance of the flora and fauna that belong to the planet, just as much as we do. We must work throughout the year, to empower those who cannot empower themselves, which includes plants and animals. This World Environment Day, let us vow to be responsible for a positive change.” He also explained the Sustainable Development Goals and activities of MAHE towards this effect.

Speaking about the importance of Environment Day, Dr. Raviraja NS said, “True environmental revolution can be achieved if we come together and work towards helping our planet develop. By simple steps like keeping our surroundings clean and spreading awareness about the importance of environmental preservation, we all can do our bit for land restoration and to protect our land from desertification and drought. Let us resolve to preserve our planet for future generations.”

Concluding the ceremony with the national anthem, Mr Balakrishna Prabhu, Estate Officer, MAHE extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, college faculties, students, and everyone else gathered.
