JD Lakshminarayana Launches Organic Creamery: Iceberg’s First Company-Owned Outlet for Premium Organic Ice Cream

Hyderabad, October 14, 2024……VVs Lakshminarayana, popularly known as JD Lakshminarayana, a retired police officer turned politician opened Organic Creamery, a new premium brand and first company-owned outlet of Iceberg, India’s first organic ice cream brand in the city at Kondapur on Dussehra.

Speaking on the occasion, JD Lakshminarayana termed Iceberg ice creams as green ice creams. I was told by Suhas that some of the organic ingredients used in making these ice creams are purest A2 milk, organic butter, organic dhaga mishri, organic fruits, gondh gum, vegetable-extracted colours, organic cocoa, organic jaggery, organic stevia. They are sweetened with dhaga mishri, and gondh (edible gum) is used as a natural preservative. I was even told that the usage of gondh as a natural preservative ensures the shelf-life of ice cream to six months. I was also told that they have applied for a patent for the same. Indeed, it is an ice cream lover’s paradise, he added.

The man behind the brand, Suhas B Shetty is an entrepreneur with a difference for his innovative approach and health-friendly ice creams and for his entrepreneurial endeavours for offering employment to 100 people directly and 35o indirectly. He also needs to be appreciated and encouraged for all organic solar-powered factories, a first of its kind. He is a job giver instead of a job giver. He stands tall as an example for many youths in this country. It is my proud privilege meeting him, he said.

Begun Ka Bazar is an ice cream made using Caramel Nuts, and Grameen Kulfi Ice Cream topped with dried apricots, and dates and drizzled with honey. Purana pulk e miya bhai is made using jaggery almond ice cream topped with hot Caramel fudge and chia seeds.

Iceberg offers ice creams ranging from classic options such as vanilla and butterscotch to organic fruit flavours such as sitaphal, tender coconut, chikoo, and guava. We’ve also developed innovative flavours like charcoal, malai khurma, and gulab jamun.

Tenable Cloud Risk Report Sounds the Alarm on Toxic Cloud Exposures Threatening Indian Organisations

India, 10 October 2024 – Tenable®, the exposure management company, today released the Tenable Cloud Risk Report 2024, highlighting that organisations globally and in India are unknowingly exposed to the “toxic cloud triad,” a trifecta of cloud security risks that could lead to severe data breaches and financial losses.

The report is based on extensive analysis of billions of cloud assets across data gathered from billions of cloud assets across multiple public cloud environments. The data collected during the first half of 2024 (Jan – Jun) includes a comprehensive set of cloud workload and configuration information from real-world cloud assets in active production.

The Toxic Cloud Triad

With the rapid adoption of cloud technology across industries in APAC, the report underscores the challenges posed by misconfigurations, excessive permissions, and critical vulnerabilities that open doors to threat actors. The findings reveal that 38% of organisations have at least one publicly exposed, critically vulnerable, and highly privileged cloud workload, forming the toxic cloud triad.

Many breaches reported worldwide in 2024 resulted from 1-day vulnerabilities exploited on exposed workloads. Of these, some of the most dangerous breaches involved lateral movement by using the privileges of the compromised workloads.

“With cyber risks spreading across every corner of the business, the threat level has become unsustainable,” said Rajnish Gupta, Country Manager, Tenable India. “To tackle the biggest vulnerabilities, organisations need to understand toxic cloud triads and other risky combinations—and know exactly what data is exposed. Attackers exploit the gaps, slipping through outdated defences that can’t keep up or react fast enough.”

Additional key findings from Tenable’s Cloud Research team include:

• 84% of organisations have risky access keys to cloud resources: The majority of organisations (84.2%) possess unused or longstanding access keys with critical or high severity excessive permissions, a significant security gap that poses a substantial risk.
• 23% of cloud identities have critical or high severity excessive permissions: Analysis of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure reveals that 23% of cloud identities, both human and non-human, have critical or high severity excessive permissions.
• Critical vulnerabilities persist: Notably, CVE-2024-21626, a severe container escape vulnerability that could lead to the server host compromise, remained unremediated in over 80% of workloads even 40 days after its publishing.
• 74% of organisations have publicly exposed storage: 74% of organisations have publicly exposed storage assets, including those in which sensitive data resides. This exposure, often due to unnecessary or excessive permissions, has been linked to increased ransomware attacks.
• 78% of organisations have publicly accessible Kubernetes API servers: Of these, 41% also allow inbound internet access. Additionally, 58% of organisations have cluster-admin role bindings — which means that certain users have unrestricted control over all the Kubernetes environments.

Uttar Pradesh is driving a broader strategy to align with National and Global Climate Commitments

10 October 2024: CII-IGBC, India’s premier body for green building certification and related services, inaugurated their first UP Sustainability Conclave 2024 in Lucknow. The Conclave, held at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) office in Lucknow, focused on how Uttar Pradesh increasingly adopting green technologies and thereby contributing to environmental conservation and fostering economic growth and providing a better quality of life for its residents. The inaugural was graced by Mr Amit Srivastava Co-Chairman, IGBC Uttar Pradesh Chapter; Mr Sachin Sharma, Chairman, IGBC Western Uttar Pradesh Chapter; Mr Ashish Rakheja, Chairman, IGBC Technical Committee & Managing Partner, AEON Integrated Building Design Consultants LLP. Mr Sanjeev Bhardwaj Engineer-in-chief – Design & Planning Public Works Department, Government of UP, Mr Sachinder Mohan Sharma DRM Lucknow India Railway, Mr Sharad S Chandak Chief General Manager State Bank of India Lucknow Circle Were also part of the programme along with other key stakeholder of Built Environment and Building sector.

Notably, the state of Uttar Pradesh ranks 2nd overall in the country with 1,334 projects registered with CII IGBC covering an area of 1,582.62 Million Sq Ft. It also ranks 2nd overall in the Commercial category where the state has 613 registered projects covering an area of 108.73 Million Sq Ft. The Govt. of Uttar Pradesh to further the cause of decarbonization provides an additional 5% Floor Area Ratio (FAR) on buildings which are rated IGBC Gold or above. Speaking at the emergence of Uttar Pradesh and its focus on NET ZERO and Decarbonization.

Mr Amit Srivastava Co-Chairman, IGBC Uttar Pradesh Chapter while addressing the delegates said, “Uttar Pradesh is poised for significant evolution, driven by a combination of policy commitments, technological advancements, and societal engagement. Mr Ashish Rakheja Chairman, IGBC Technical Committee & Managing Partner, AEON Integrated Building Design Consultants LLP spoke on the Urgency and Impact on the Built Environment. He stressed on how Decarbonization is increasingly urgent due to climate change, with the built environment—including buildings, infrastructure, and urban spaces—contributing significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions. It is crucial for the built environment to mitigate climate change, improve resilience, and support sustainable development, requiring immediate and concerted action across sectors.

The Conclave also saw some lively discussion on Transitioning Buildings & Built Environment towards Net Zero, moderated by Mr Amit Srivastava, Co-Chairman, IGBC Uttar Pradesh Chapter. It highlighted key aspects of the urgent need for decarbonization in the built environment. The panel emphasized on how the built environment account for a significant portion of global carbon emissions and as a result the urgency for immediate action toward a net-zero transition cannot be overstated. Achieving a carbon-neutral future requires a holistic approach that encompasses design, construction, operations, and maintenance.

Emerging Green Technology and its impact on Construction and Infrastructure Development, which was moderated by Mr Sachin Sharma, Chairman, IGBC Western Uttar Pradesh Chapter, the panellists discuss on how the rapid emergence of green technologies is revolutionizing the design, construction, and operation of buildings. IIM Bodh Gaya Signs MoU with the Planning & Development Department of Bihar for Training of Officials

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Planning & Development Department of Bihar to provide training in management, leadership, and skill development for its officials. Under this agreement, officials from the Planning & Development Department of Bihar will undergo training in phases. Each batch will participate in a six-day residential session conducted at IIM Bodh Gaya.

 Shri K. Senthil Kumar, I.A.S., Principal Secretary of the Planning & Development Department, stated that the MoU aims to equip officials with modern management techniques and skills. He noted that the training would enhance the officials’ skills, improve work culture, optimize office management, and increase revenue. During his visit to IIM Bodh Gaya, Shri Kumar reviewed the campus and its training resources.

 The Planning & Development Department, Government of Bihar, Patna, is a key department responsible for plan formulation, implementation, and policy determination in Bihar. Ola Electric recently announced the #HyperService campaign. Under the campaign, the company plans to double its service network to 1,000 centres by December this year. Additionally, it also announced the Network Partner Program to expand its sales and service network across India. Amber Group’s Ascent Circuits to set up Rs 650 crore state-of-the-art PCB manufacturing facility to enhance EMS play; deepens localisation of critical components

Mumbai, 10th October 2024: Ascent Circuits, an Amber Group company, in a strategic move announces plan to set up new state-of-the-art facility in Hosur, Chennai. With investment of Rs 650 crore, this expansion marks leapfrog milestone of Amber’s evolution into PCB manufacturing segment.

 The imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty has been a key enabler to boost the national interest of strengthening domestic PCB manufacturing ecosystem. In-line with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, this facility further bolsters the domestic manufacturing and import substitution capabilities.

 “This expansion represents our dedication to building a robust local supply chain for critical electronic components,” said a spokesperson of Amber Group. “PCBs are the backbone of electronic products and therefore, at an important juncture for localisation.

 “The new facility will employ advanced manufacturing technologies to produce a wide range of PCBs, from single-sided to complex multilayer and specialty circuits. Further, this facility will also create a direct and indirect employment opportunity for more than 1,000 people in the state.”

 This state-of-the-art PCB facility will bolster local manufacturing of critical components as India makes its mark in semiconductor and chip substrates. The new facility will create an annual manufacturing capacity of upto 8,40,000 SqM upon completion in two phases
