In the realm of assistance and intervention, ADAS showcased technology and functions that could be delivered via radar as well as a front camera, like autonomous emergency braking, smart cruise control, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, and stop and go functionality. The group also showcased components and a vehicle equipped with ADAS technology, which could be seen running on the ICAT testing track.
The group also presented technology complementary to ADAS, like connectivity, where it showcased its telematics unit, cloud connectivity solutions, and electrification, both for 2W and 4W.
By exhibiting its systems and technologies, Uno Minda gave a glimpse of the upcoming futuristic technology that is now being launched in India.

Indian Diamond Industry to Resume Rough Diamond Imports from 15th December 2023
India, 11th December 2023: The Indian gem & jewellery industry announces that the voluntary suspension of rough diamond imports, which was in effect from 15th October to 15th December 2023, will be lifted on 15th December 2023. The suspension was a collective decision taken by the Indian diamond industry, represented by the GJEPC, Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association, Surat Diamond Bourse, and Surat Diamond Association, to address the challenges related to the imbalance between demand and supply.
Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said, “We believe that the suspension has helped bring stability to the Indian diamond industry, which had been impacted by low demand. The suspension has also resulted in a positive impact on the prices of polished diamonds over the past two months. The industry is hopeful that the prices will remain stable and sustainable in the coming months, as the demand for natural diamonds gradually recovers in the key markets such as the U.S., China, Middle East, and Europe.”
The GJEPC, along with other associations, notified its trade members via a letter regarding the resumption of rough diamond imports. Grateful for the cooperation and support extended by all industry stakeholders during the suspension, the associations recognized and appreciated the unity and resilience demonstrated by the industry.
Furthermore, the associations also expressed their gratitude to the miners and diamond-producing companies who cooperated and showed confidence in the decision taken by the Indian industry and voluntarily suspended their sales.
The associations have urged the industry to remain cautious and well-prepared for the uncertainties that lie ahead, as the global economic landscape continues to be influenced by geopolitical tensions.
Vipul Shah further added, “We will continue to work closely with the diamond miners to ensure a balance between demand and supply, and to implement effective marketing campaigns to boost consumer confidence and demand for natural diamonds. We are confident that with our cooperation and resilience, we will achieve a prosperous future for the Indian diamond industry.”
GJEPC and other associations reaffirmed their commitment to engaging with all the industry stakeholders to strategize and implement effective measures to safeguard the interests of the industry and work towards a sustainable and balanced industry ecosystem.

Survey reveals significant awareness of green initiatives in the security industry
Hikvision and asmag.com have recently conducted a collaborative survey, researching market sentiment towards green practices and technologies within the security industry. The survey gathered valuable insights about the importance of sustainability, and how it influences respondents’ businesses and purchasing decisions.
Considerable familiarity with green practices
Survey results revealed a large majority of respondents (88%) – from both Western and Asian regions – expressed familiarity with this topic, indicating a strong awareness of its importance within the security industry. However, discrepancies were noted in levels of understanding and implementation. A total of 61% from the Western sector indicated they understood or had implemented green practices in their businesses, compared with 55% of Asian respondents.
Increasing demand for green security products and solutions The survey exhibits that there is demand for green security products and solutions in both Western and Asian markets. However, there is more consistent demand seen among Western respondents and potential growth opportunities in Asia.
The survey results indicate that Western respondents see a stronger demand for eco-friendly products and solutions, with 11% reporting consistent and 33% reporting frequent requests from clients. The numbers were lower for Asian respondents with 10% and 12% respectively. However, a notable 39% of Asian channel players noted occasional requests which can suggest a growing interest in
sustainable solutions.
Challenges in adopting green practices within the security industry
An estimated 18% of survey respondents indicated that a significant obstacle right now is that the adoption of green and low carbon practices has not been yet recognized as essential in the security industry. High costs and uncertainty of ROI is also stated as another primary challenge. Other issues such as a “lack of public awareness” and “absence of standardization & certifications” were chosen by 17% of respondents as primary obstacles. These insights point to opportunities for market education, aiming to simplify decision- aking for channel players while transparently showcasing the achievable ROI and practical benefits.
The future of sustainable practices within the security industry
When inquired about the adoption of green and low carbon practices in the coming years, the overall responses convey a positive outlook, with only 4.7% expressing that sustainability would still not be a priority for the security industry.
The majority of survey participants (22.9%) anticipate that manufacturers will be able to attract a broader customer base and stand out in the market by clearly demonstrating their eco- conscious features, branding and certifications. They also expected to anticipate and prepare for stricter government regulations in the near future (22.6%).
Another 22.6% indicated that technology advancements will make greener products less expensive, making them more accessible to a wider audience. This would potentially create a self-reinforcing cycle: Accessible pricing encourages more users to use eco-friendly products, resulting in increased energy and cost savings, thus perpetuating the cycle of sustainability and business benefits.

Don Bosco International School (Matunga) bagged the coveted title of ‘number one school in sports’ with an impressive total of 239 points bagging 10 Gold, 15 Silver, and 22 Bronze medals. The 1st runner up position was bagged by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyalya (Borivali), whereas the second runner-up award was won by Vibgyor High, Goregaon.
Honouring the exceptional achievements of athletes in multi-sports, the “Golden Girl” title was awarded to Norah Alva from Rose Manor International School, who clinched gold medals in skating and athletics (in the U-9 and U-8 categories). While the “Golden Boy” title was conferred upon Mehaan Siddarth Chandiramani from Gundecha Education Academy (Oshiwara), with 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals, in the U-8 category, in speedcubing and judo.

Koi Kitchen Sets the Table for a Pan Asian Culinary Journey in KR Puram, Bangalore
Bangalore, December 11, 2023 — Koi Kitchen, the first Pan Asian restaurant in the vibrant area of KR Puram, invites you on a culinary voyage where design meets diversity and flavors blend seamlessly. The 80-seater Koi Kitchen boasts a captivating ambiance that marries modern design with traditional accents from various Asian cultures. It features beautiful blue and green tones with pops of vibrant colors, tropical patterns, hanging lanterns, wooden accents that evoke a sense of sophistication. One can’t miss the perfectly placed Asian inspired wall mural while the lovely ambient lighting creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The space balances sleek, contemporary, stylish furniture with cultural touches. This fusion of modern design and traditional accents creates a captivating setting that complements the diverse and flavorful Pan Asian cuisine served.
The launch event, scheduled for December 9th, promises to be a star-studded affair with Japanese guests and distinguished personalities from Bangalore in attendance. Guests were treated to a delightful tasting menu featuring Dim sums, Sushi, hearty meals in a bowl, salads, curries, varieties of fried rice, noodles, and mouth-watering desserts. The live counters allowed chefs to interact with guests, sharing insights into the culinary delights on offer.
The specially curated cocktails, infused with Asian influences and ingredients like Blue Butterfly Pea flower, Jamu, Kaffir lime, and Gochujang, added a unique twist to the evening.

Dinesh Gundu Rao Ji graced the Valedictory Session of Global Health Conference 2023
Bangalore, 11 December 2023: The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare – Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao Ji graced the Valedictory Session of the Global Health Conference 2023, organized by India’s First Free Private Rural Medical College – Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) in association with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
The Conference was designed on the theme – ‘Augmenting Synergies for Universal Healthcare’ at Sathya Sai Grama on 08-09 December 2023. The Minister presented the ‘Gift of Life’ certificates to two children who were treated at SMSIMSR. ‘Gift of Life’ is a ceremony which was instituted by Sri Madhusudan Sai across all his hospitals, where those who are saved through surgeries are celebrated. The Hospital provided baby Malashree sepsis NICU management in addition to pre-term birth management care. The child was kept in the NICU for 26 days, absolutely free of all costs! Six-year-old Krishna Seervi hailing from Bagepalli, Chikkaballapur underwent an ASD device closure. Both the children were discharged, hale and hearty and look forward to live a healthy life.
The Conference collectively embarked on a journey of exploration, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration in the pursuit of advancing global healthcare. ‘Augmenting synergies for Universal Healthcare’ was a pivotal event that promised to shape the future of healthcare through collaborative efforts and innovative solutions. By bringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, the Conference inspired a transformative change, forging a path towards a more inclusive, patient-centric, sustainable, affordable and accessible healthcare landscape.
Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao Ji in his address said, “I was always looking forward to be invited to this holy place and witness the glorious work done here. The work is simply astounding and setting up a private medical college in a record-breaking time span is laudable. It isn’t easy to achieve such a huge milestone in such a limited duration. Even for the Government, to achieve such an enormous task of establishing a medical college and hospital is difficult. I was awe struck to see the seamless functioning of the Hospital and College here during my walkthrough. We need people who are willing and dedicated to run such institutions and thus able to achieve such substantial outcomes. What is something impossible is been made possible here! SMSIMSR has given a ray of hope to the entire humanity. The people and work being done reinvigorate the hope in humanity. Government facilities have always faced multiple challenges in terms of quality and delivery of healthcare. This Institution has achieved something which any government has failed to. The number of free surgeries and services provided absolutely free of cost is truly inspiring. I would love to extend all the support from the Government and looking forward for meaningful collaborations in making healthcare accessible and affordable to the public.”
In the closing remarks Sri Madhusudan Sai said, “To take the healthcare to remotest of the geographies and making it accessible to everyone despite of hardships is the step taken by us. This can happen only with a magnanimous feeling of ‘vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam – One World One Family’. Parents never charge their children for providing them. Our ancient India never charged for dispensing nutrition, education or healthcare, believing everyone as a part of one single family.
We belong to such a great India where the vaidyālayas were patronized by kings dispensing free healthcare to the public. Over time with the onslaught of modernisation, things have changed drastically. We as an Institution, believe in the great ideals of our country. The need of the hour is imbibing the feeling of oneness. Charitable institutions, corporate and governments must work hand in hand to fill this gap in society. Everyone must have clothes to cover their bodies, nutritious food to live a healthy life and holistic healthcare to cure the disease-affected body.
We are a large country and it will take a while to reach out to the last person but we have begun somewhere and set the ball rolling. One step towards this goal that we have set is by establishing a free medical college creating noble healthcare professionals from the rural population of India. They are the one who will commit themselves to this cause and serve the rural poor getting back to their natives. Majority of them hail from families earning less than INR 20k per month. These students have come forward and committed themselves to serve lifelong in this noble cause out of sheer gratitude towards the institution and the country. They are inspired from free medical education and free healthcare which is a myth in this contemporary world. After churning out so much of knowledge over two days, we must put it into action. All the stakeholders should partner to resolve the underlying issues of healthcare in society.”
As part of the Valedictory session, a fireside chat show was held where noted former cricketer Sri Sunil Gavaskar posed many questions about the ethos of ‘compassionate healthcare’, which is the model of all the hospitals which have been established by Sri Madhusudan Sai (Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Heart Care Hospitals, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Mother and Child Hospitals, Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital and the Medical College), joint partnerships and collaborations, the concept of universalization of healthcare, etc.
