Rama Galleria Opens Art Gallery with ‘PEHCHAAN by KADAM’, Showcasing Contemporary Indian Art in Raipur

Dec,23:- Rama Galleria at Rama World, Raipur is set to formally open its doors as a premium contemporary art gallery with the launch of PEHCHAAN by KADAM, a three-day curated art residency and exhibition scheduled from 8th to 10th January 2026. Marking Rama Galleria’s first cultural initiative, the event positions the destination not only as Raipur’s premier lifestyle address but also as an emerging hub for contemporary art, creative dialogue, and cultural exchange in Central India.

Curated by Kadam, a thoughtfully developed artistic platform founded by Sarita Agrawal, PEHCHAAN operates on the belief that meaningful art begins with time, trust, and the right environment. The initiative brings together ten artists from across India, offering them a rare opportunity to engage deeply with their practice in a focused, supportive setting free from the pressures of immediate public display. By prioritizing the sanctity of the creative process, PEHCHAAN allows ideas to evolve organically before being shared with a wider audience.

The participating artists include Ram Dongre, whose layered canvases explore memory, time, and cultural remnants, Sheikh Hifzul, whose narrative works draw from folklore and lived experience, Hukum Lal Verma, known for expressive abstractions driven by intuition and colour, Tushar Waghela, whose practice questions belief systems and contemporary realities, Sunil Kumar Yadav, whose mixed-media works uncover unseen dimensions of everyday objects, Ashish Kushwaha, drawing inspiration from rural life and traditional visual culture, Chandrapal Panjre, who transforms hand-stitched textiles into meditative reflections of rural memory, Mrinal Dey, recognized for satirical figurative works commenting on everyday socio-political life, Nitish Sharma, whose vibrant compositions explore cosmic space and human interconnectedness, and Shubhagnil Singh, a multidisciplinary artist bridging visual art and cinema.

The residency will culminate in a curated public exhibition at Rama Galleria, accompanied by artist dialogues and media interactions. Serving as the first public showcase within the newly launched art gallery, the exhibition sets the tone for Rama Galleria’s long-term vision of creating a dedicated cultural space that supports contemporary art, curated exhibitions, and sustained creative residencies in Central India.
