August 16, 2024: In a landmark moment for the healthcare industry, the School of Business Management, NMIMS, Mumbai, in collaboration with CAHO, successfully hosted the very exciting SAKCON 2024, an event that redefined the conversation around patient-centered care, personalized healthcare innovations, and public policy. The conference, powered by the MBA Healthcare Management Program, brought together top minds in healthcare to explore the critical shifts transforming the sector today.

 The conference kick-started on a high note with an inspirational inauguration by Dr. Justin Paul, Dean and Provost of SBM, NMIMS, alongside Dr. Neha Sadhotra, Organizing Chairperson of SAKCON 2024 and Chairperson of the MBA Healthcare Management Program at NMIMS. Dr. Sadhotra put forth the topic of the day – patient centric care with special focus on innovation, collaboration, and healthcare excellence. The dynamic Dr. Indu Bhushan, former CEO of Ayushman Bharat, ex-Director General of ADB, and former IAS officer, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Turkish Airlines received three financing awards from ‘Airline Economics’

Bengaluru, 16 September 2024: Flag carrier brand received the “European Supported Finance Deal of the Year” and “European Overall Deal of the Year” awards while Turkish Airlines’ Member of the Board and the Executive Committee and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Assoc. Prof. Murat Şeker won the “European CFO of the Year” award at the ceremony held by “Airline Economics” in London on 9th September.

Flying to more countries than any other airline, Turkish Airlines is able to extend its financier base geographically by taking advantage of cost efficiency while minimizing currency risks thanks to its diversified revenue structure. Recent addition of a new currency to its financing portfolio with the financing of three Airbus A350 aircraft in Chinese Yuan by AVIC International Leasing and CCB Financial Leasing was deemed worthy of “European Overall Deal of the Year” award.

Furthermore, Turkish Airlines’ financing of two Airbus A350 aircraft with an ECA guaranteed JOLCO structure in Japanese Yen provided by BNP Paribas & Citibank and NTT TC Leasing consortium received “European Supported Finance Deal of the Year” award, showing the airline’s well-established position in the Japanese market since 2007.

But it’s easier for me because I know Hindi, English, Rajasthani, and I understand a bit of Gujarati. Living in Mumbai, I’ve also picked up Marathi, and all these languages really help in portraying a character better.”

Lastly, when asked if she has ever faced discrimination due to language, the Saajha Sindoor actress shared, “I’ve seen it happen, though it hasn’t been an issue for me personally. But for those who aren’t very comfortable with Hindi, maybe because they come from a different state, it can be tough. You can tell from their accent that they’re not as fluent, and they really have to struggle. If you want to work in the Hindi industry but don’t know the language well, it can be quite challenging.”

51-Year-Old Woman Treated for Aortic Aneurysm with TEVAR Surgery at Apex Group of Hospitals

Mumbai- 51-year-old woman Mrs. Swati Pandit (name changed) from Dahisar started complaining of chest pain of left side frequently and after taking basic treatments from local doctors she didn’t get relief from this pain. Her family decided to take for detailed evaluation from renowned Hospitals in Borivali and She was then referred to Dr Maunil Ajay Bhuta- Chief Interventional Radiologist at Apex Mulitspeciality Hospitals, Borivali who advised an CT Aortogram after her ECG, 2d echo and blood tests which all turned out to be normal. CT Aortogram clinched the diagnosis which was a descending thoracic aortic dissection and aneurysm.

Commenting on this Dr. Maunil Ajay Bhuta, Chief Interventional Radiologist says, “The minimal invasive procedure (TEVAR- Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair) was performed for life threatening (impending rupture) huge thoracic aortic aneurysm, a rare condition.Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure used to repair a thoracic aortic aneurysm or dissection. TEVAR is a minimally invasive alternative to open surgery and is associated with much shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times. Aortic aneurysm is a pathological balloon-like bulge in the aorta (the main artery that carries blood from heart to the rest of the body). The 51-year-old woman was suffering from thoracic aortic aneurysm for the last few months. This condition was very critical and needed urgent treatment as it can be dangerous and life threatening. Hence she was advised an urgent TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair) for the same which is an expensive state of the art treatment. Subsequently the financial sanctions were made by the Apex Hospital Management in coordination with ESIC.”

NMDC Ltd Honoured with Rajbhasha Kirti Award 2023-2024

Mumbai, September 16, 2024: NMDC Ltd., India’s largest Iron ore producer and Navratna public sector company, has been conferred the prestigious ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Award’ for 2023-2024, in the category of Undertakings situated in “C” region.

The award was presented at the Hindi Diwas Function 2024 and Fourth Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan organized by the Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi. NMDC was recognized with the second prize for the effective implementation of the official language policy.

Smt. G. Priyadarshini, Chief General Manager (Personnel & Administration), NMDC received the award on behalf of NMDC from Shri Nityanand Rai ,Honourable State Minister of Home Affairs in presence of Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, and Shri Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Rajya Sabha.

On the occasion, Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), NMDC, said, “This recognition underscores NMDC’s ongoing commitment to promoting the use of Hindi and excelling in its implementation of the official language policy. NMDC has consistently championed the promotion of Hindi and awarded with several Rajbhasha awards and the company’s efforts were acknowledged by the Ministry of Steel’s Ispat Rajbhasha Samman the top position in its category and also the Town Official Language Implementation Committee for PSEs of Hyderabad, Telangana.
