Xiaomi India partners with United Way India to upskill the transgender community for sustainable livelihood
Chennai, 25th March 2023: Xiaomi India, the country’s leading smartphone and smart TV brand, announced a collaboration with United Way India to upskill the transgender community. The partnership aims to upskill 100 transgender persons across Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru with the knowledge of laptop, computer, and mobile handset repair to enhance their employability and provide sustainable livelihood options to them. With technology usage at an all-time high, this skill development program is a gateway for the transgender community to secure jobs with leading mobile companies and pave the way for their entrepreneurial journey.
The selected individuals’ training program will span over four months and incorporate an experiential learning approach. The program will cover different modules such as basic electronics, software and hardware, and hands-on practical training. United Way India, will identify beneficiaries in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru regions based on their willingness, attitude, and aptitude to participate in the training. Upon completing the program, trainees will actively engage in income-generating activities and self-employment ventures.

Tattvan E-Clinics Facilitates a Medical Camp for the People of Jabalpur: Witnesses a Huge Turnout
Every year Mr. Lakhan Ghanghoriya, a Member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly carries out a medical camp in Jabalpur, and this time he wanted to take it to the next level through telemedicine. The camp was facilitated by Tattvan E-Clinics in association with its partner hospital- Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jaipur, Rajasthan. A dedicated team of MD Medicine Doctors made sure to attend to each & every patient tirelessly throughout the event. The use of high-broadband further accelerated the process & turned out to be an efficient session overall. The ground team of tattva made sure to align all the operations in a smooth & timely manner. The motive behind this arrangement was to create maximum awareness about teleconsultation in the region. There was a huge turnout of people, possibly the biggest in the country for a one-day telemedicine camp ever.
Mr. Lakhan Ghanghoriya, MLA, was also present at the event as a chief guest. During the event, he addressed the people & shared his views on this Camp saying “innovation and technology in healthcare is the future for developing and strengthening the rural healthcare infrastructure, the initiative by Tattvan E Clinics has allowed hundreds of patients to avail the benefit of specialist consultation from the comfort of their hometowns hope to see more efforts from Tattvan in Madhya Pradesh so that the people here have regular accessibility to the specialist doctor”.
Mr. Shrichand Batheja, Tattvan Franchise Owner, played a major role in organizing the camp. “The aim was to provide the best healthcare services in the area so that patients do not have to travel long distances. Appario Retail Private Limited contributed Rs.1.85 Cr for Education of Underprivileged Children in Bengaluru
Bengaluru 25th March 2023: Aimed at giving wings to the dreams of underprivileged children, Appario Retail Private Limited, has contributed Rs. 1.85 crores to fund education for underprivileged children in Bengaluru in collaboration with three non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
The funds have been used to support educational programs and initiatives carried out by NGOs Christel House India, YuvaLok Foundation, and Jeevodaya Institute with the aim of addressing challenges faced by Bengaluru’s underprivileged children in accessing quality education.
Together with Christel House India, Appario Retail has sponsored the education of 70 school students under its Education Scholarship program to empower the young mind, of 32 undergraduate students by helping them with higher education Scholarship and providing 10 classroom projectors to enhance their digital learning experience. Similarly, in partnership with YuvaLok Foundation, the company has sponsored the education of 191 students in response to bridging the divide and renovated several toilets for the teachers and students of Yuvalok. It has also supported the higher education costs of 81 students and distributed 40 laptops to the Jeevodaya Institute to set up computer labs for the students and promote digitalization.
The aim of these initiatives is to narrow the education gap between children from privileged and underprivileged backgrounds and help level the playing field for students from poor families so that they, too, can reap the benefits of quality education.
Appario Retail’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Aman Deep Lohan said “The answer to closing the educational gap in India is to give everyone the chance to receive an education of the same caliber. Only when this occurs will India be able to discuss inclusivity and provide underprivileged youth in our nation with equal opportunities to learn and develop. Amadeus Launches Travel4Impact Network: India’s First Social Innovation Network for the Tourism Industry
Mumbai, March 25, 2023 – Amadeus, the largest technology provider for the travel industry worldwide has introduced its Travel4Impact initiative in India – a social innovation network for the tourism industry. The Travel4Impact network aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the travel and tourism sectors in India by providing them with a platform to collaborate, innovate and develop sustainable solutions. The initiative seeks to promote digitalization and sustainability in tourism operations while fostering economic growth.
Travel4Impact is an initiative run by Amadeus alongside IE University, a leading international higher education institution, recognized as one of the first carbon-neutral universities in Europe. The program is designed to improve the competitiveness and social and environmental impact of SMEs in the travel sector. This is done through the creation of a network to support enterprises that see digitalization, collaboration, and sustainability as key elements of their value proposition.
“Introducing Amadeus’ Travel4Impact initiative in India is part of Amadeus’ global commitment to supporting SMEs in the travel and tourism sectors to collaborate, innovate and develop sustainable solutions in India,” said Shalini Nair, Head of People and Culture, India, and APAC at Amadeus Labs. “At Amadeus, we are constantly looking for ways to collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainability in the travel industry. Our collaboration with IE University to extend the Travel4Impact initiative in the APAC regions is our commitment towards consistently making a positive impact on the world through responsible tourism.”
Travel4Impact Network first launched in Spain and then expanded to Europe over the first two iterations. This year, it will have a more global scope, welcoming organizations from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. Applications for the third edition opened on March 1st with more than 30 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expected to participate in 2023.
The program is open to SMEs with more than two years of activity within the tourism ecosystem and two or more full-time employees. Entrants must have a proven interest in sustainability and digitalization and be actively looking to maximize the positive impact of their work. Central to this is demonstrating that the SME has a business footprint in its specific market or region (EMEA or APAC).
Concepción Galdón, Director of IE Center for Social Innovation & Sustainability, IE University, said, “Travel4Impact is a network of SMEs in the travel and tourism industry that spearhead travel’s immense value for environmental and social value creation. They understand and exchange best practices to generate the kind of transformational experiences that only great and responsible travel provides.”
Successful applications will receive support in the development of their digital strategies, the social and environmental impact of their value proposition and the sustainability of their business. There are opportunities to take part in an innovation community, co-create, share knowledge and experiences, access training as well as collaborate with other participants.
The initiative has already been launched in several other countries, including Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and has been well-received by SMEs in those markets.
