IC3 Movement Invites Educators to Register for the Biggest Global Conference on Counseling and Career Readiness

National, 22nd July 2025: The 2025 Annual IC3 Conference & Expo by the IC3 Movement will be held on 20–21 August, this year at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, with limited registrations now open for schools and colleges. Drawing educators, university representatives, policymakers, and experts from over 95 countries, the conference offers an unmatched platform to address student mental health, career readiness, and the evolving role of counseling in school education. The conference offers a valuable space for meaningful dialogue within the counseling community, along with panel discussions led by prominent voices shaping the future of education.

With the theme “Counseling as a Culture”, this year’s conference will explore how schools can embed counseling into core educational practices, which foster proactive, long-term systems that support student well-being and development.

The conference will feature 35 expert-led sessions, as well as pre-conference workshops and Inner Child Workshops, all open to registered participants. The IC3 Presidential Forum, held by invitation only, will bring together the senior global university leaders such as presidents, chancellors, and vice chancellors; top high school leaders and principals from across the world; and senior officials from government, trade organisations, and the media.

The 2025 Annual IC3 Conference & Expo will host a diverse lineup of speakers spanning education, policy, psychology, leadership, and the creative arts. Mythologist and author Devdutt Pattanaik and spiritual leader Gauranga Das, Director at Govardhan Eco Village, will deliver keynote addresses that invite reflection on culture and consciousness in education.

Among the special invitees are key figures shaping Indian education policy including Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations at CBSE, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, and Dr Indu Shahani, Founding President of ATLAS SkillTech University.

A key highlight will be the release of the third edition of the IC3 Institute’s Student Suicides Report, offering research-based insights on the mental health landscape of students in India and the impact of counseling access in schools. Another key highlight will be the launch of the fifth edition of the IC3 Institute’s Annual Student Quest Report, a pioneering global survey that aims to understand the challenges and opportunities for both students and career counselors and educators in a school’s ecosystem.

VESIT Signs MoU to Open Tinkerers’ Laboratory

MUMBAI, India, July 22, 2025 – Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT), The Maker Bhavan Foundation (MBF) and Addverb Technologies Limited, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a cutting-edge MBF-Tinkerers’ Laboratory (MBF-TL) at the VESIT campus in Chembur, Mumbai. This initiative aims to foster innovation, hands-on learning, and industry-relevant skill development among students. The project is co-sponsored by MBF, providing prototyping equipment and Addverb Technologies contributing a 6-axis collaborative robotic arm (cobot).

The core purpose of this MoU is to provide students with a hands-on learning environment through the MBF-TL, enabling them to experiment and acquire practical skills. Beyond equipment donation, the initiative includes a series of workshops, courses, boot camps, and teacher training programs conducted by the LEAP (Learning Engineering by Activity through Projects) Program of the IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITM IC). This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to enhancing STEM education and research in India.

Dr. Jayalekshmi Nair, Principal of VESIT, expressed profound gratitude for this collaboration, stating, “For the past five years, VESIT has established Tinkerers’ Labs across all departments as dedicated spaces for students to explore new ideas, implement solutions, and test their innovations — all aligned with the “Learning by Doing” philosophy. Sun Pharma’s ILUMYA® Hits Primary Goal in Phase 3 Psoriatic Arthritis Trials

Sun Pharma’s Phase 3 Clinical Studies Evaluating Tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA®) in Active Psoriatic Arthritis Meet their Primary Endpoint

MUMBAI, India & PRINCETON, N.J., July 21, 2025 – Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (Reuters: SUN.BO, Bloomberg: SUNP IN, NSE: SUNPHARMA, BSE: 524715 (together with its subsidiaries and/or affiliated companies, “Sun Pharma”) today announced top line results from two Phase 3 clinical studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA^®) administered over 24 weeks for treatment of active psoriatic arthritis.

Treatment with tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA) resulted in greater improvements in PsA signs and symptoms at Week 24 compared to treatment with placebo. Both the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies achieved the primary endpoint, with a higher proportion of patients in the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies treated with tildrakizumab achieving ACR20 responses at week 24, compared to those receiving placebo (p < 0.05).

Safety data in the studies was consistent with the well documented safety profile of ILUMYA, which is approved for the treatment of adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. No new safety signals were identified in the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies.

Findings from the INSPIRE studies will be presented at upcoming medical conferences and published in a peer- reviewed medical journal. Use of tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA) in psoriatic arthritis is not approved, and its safety and efficacy have not been evaluated by regulatory authorities.

Let’s make RTC buses role models for respect

Public Transport is for us, and we must own it and deal with it accordingly to make it a pleasant experience for all

Hyderabad, July 17, 2025 — As women across Telangana embrace the free bus travel scheme in record numbers, a group of young researchers from EThames Business School is urging a deeper look into the commuting experience, not to find fault, but to find ways forward. Their message is clear: when a free ride sparks a fight, what commuters truly need is respect.

Recent viral videos of seat-related disputes among women commuters in TSRTC buses highlight the growing demand for public transport infrastructure, particularly during peak hours. The study by EThames students emphasises that these are not just isolated clashes, but reflections of the need for greater support systems, awareness, and shared commuter responsibility.

Public transport is more than just mobility — it’s a lifeline for millions. Telangana’s RTC operates over 9,000 buses daily, serving more than 40 lakh commuters across Telangana, a significant proportion of them women. The free travel scheme has empowered countless women with newfound independence and access to education, work, and healthcare.

However, with the rise in ridership, the challenges of overcrowding, comfort, and safety also increase. This study by EThames aims to make a positive contribution to existing efforts by highlighting practical, implementable suggestions to improve travel dignity for all.

The Key Findings from the EThames Study. The study was conducted over 43 days, and the student-led study surveyed 480 women and held 20+ interviews across bus routes in Hyderabad. While 52% of the surveyed respondents reported experiencing discomfort, only 23% were aware of or had used safety tools, such as apps or helplines. Key concerns included overcrowding, undertrained staff, and limited complaint visibility.

Rather than place blame, the students propose enhancements to the existing system to make public transport more respectful and responsive.

The recommendations for a safer, inclusive ride include Gender sensitivity training for RTC staff, QR-code-based complaint systems in buses and terminals, Improved lighting and clean toilets at key bus stops, Women-only buses during peak hours, and Bystander training to empower fellow commuters and Collaborative policing with plainclothes and uniformed staff

The research, instead of just highlighting problems, came out with a lot of suggestions, initiatives and ideas. Some of their suggestions include running a campaign to foster Respect. To complement operational changes, the team also recommends public-facing campaigns:

#MySafeSeat: Real experiences from women commuters

• Ride With Respect: Visual messaging across buses and bus stands
• SHE Can Travel: Testimonies from women who benefit from safety upgrades
• Bus Buddy Program: Student or senior volunteers ride alongside during peak hours
• Know Your Rights Cards: Helpline info in every bus

The study was conducted by students Divya Bengani, Mishika Chirag Kotecha, Drishti Jain, Syed Osman Ali, and Sayam Jain, under the guidance of Dr. Sahera Fatima and Dr. Naga Lakshmi Kundeti, Assistant Professors at EThames.

“Respect is the ticket every commuter should carry,” the students insist. No one is safe unless everyone is safe, they add.

We appreciate the EThames study, and many of its suggestions are already being addressed — from increasing bus frequency to crew training, safety helplines, CCTV, bus tracking apps, and collaboration with SHE Teams. Continuous improvement remains our priority.”

Shikha Goel, IPS, Director General, Women Safety Wing (SHE Teams & Bharosa), added: “Every woman deserves to travel freely and fearlessly. This study offers a roadmap to help achieve that, reinforcing our mission to make public spaces safer and more inclusive.”

Several countries offer innovative solutions worth emulating, the students suggest. France allows women to request on-demand night stops closer to home. Brazil’s real-time reporting apps link directly to transit police. Japan and Colombia offer women-only compartments or buses during peak hours. Sweden uses gender-disaggregated data to design safer routes and better-lit stops. Singapore combines AI-driven surveillance with strict law enforcement. These strategies show that behavioral change, design innovation, and tech integration can go hand-in-hand.

Several Indian states have adopted safety initiatives like Pink Buses (Delhi), women-only seats (Bengaluru), and compartments (Mumbai); these remain isolated efforts, not national norms. Tarini Kumar appointed Senior Executive Editor, NDTV 24×7

NDTV has appointed Tarini Kumar as Senior Executive Editor of its flagship English news channel, NDTV 24×7. In this leadership role, she will be responsible for steering the channel’s output operations – overseeing the daily news flow, driving editorial planning, shaping programming strategy, and ensuring consistent quality in content delivery across time bands.

Kumar brings with her close to two decades of newsroom experience, marked by senior editorial roles and an in‑depth understanding of broadcast workflows. She spent more than 15 years with India Today TV, where she progressed through a variety of positions, from programming producer to key roles in the output desk to Executive Editor. She played a pivotal role during high-impact national events, including election coverage and special programming blocks that required precision, agility, and sound editorial judgment.

Before that, she served as Deputy News Editor at CNN‑News18, where she was responsible for prime‑time shows.

Gurugram, July 17, 2025: Artemis Hospitals in Gurugram organized a panel discussion titled “New Age Cosmetic and Aesthetic Wonders” to mark World Plastic Surgery Day. Featuring leading experts in dermatology, plastic surgery, gynecology, and digital media, the session focused on safe, inclusive, and science-backed cosmetic care. Adding a touch of humor, standup comedian Ms. Harpriya’s witty performance had the audience laughing and thoroughly entertained.

The Department of Cosmetology and Plastic Surgery put on the session, which talked about how beauty standards are changing, why people choose certain looks, the rise in male clients, and the need for trained medical advice in a world where beauty trends are influenced by social media.

The day also recognized India’s historical contribution to the domain, tracing plastic surgery’s origins back to ancient physician Sushruta, and highlighting India’s leadership role in starting World Plastic Surgery Day, now celebrated across the world on every July 15.

It was brought to light that there has been an increase in the number of male patients looking for alternatives to hair transplants for personal hygiene. The session touched on the psychological nature of cosmetic treatments, highlighting that for most, the choice is highly personal and is frequently connected with deep-seated insecurities or post-traumatic recovery.

It was also made clear that oral collagen supplements are just regular vitamins and minerals and not magic pills that make skin look younger.

The talk also brought up how filters and digitally enhanced beauty standards are making people expect things that aren’t possible, especially teens and young adults. The experts strongly warned against getting cosmetic procedures done at salons or by unlicensed practitioners. They stressed the need for the public to be more aware of this and for the beauty and wellness industry to be more closely monitored.
