Rapido collaborates with Bengaluru Traffic Police to enhance road safety
Bengaluru, October 20, 2023: Rapido, India’s leading bike taxi platform, collaborated with Bengaluru Traffic Police to organize an awareness drive by distributing helmets and raincoats to 200 traffic policemen at Shalini Ground, Jayanagara on 19th October 2023. The occasion was graced by Shiva Prakash Devaraju IPS, DCP, Traffic, South Division, Bengaluru, Government of Karnataka, and T. Mahadeva, ACP, Jayanagar Police Station.
In a meaningful gesture, Shiva Prakash Devaraju and T. Mahadeva personally distributed 100 helmets to Rapido bike taxi captains and took the opportunity to speak about the importance of road safety. The company believes that safeguarding riders and law enforcement officers is a shared responsibility, and this endeavor underlines that commitment.
Furthermore, Rapido is also actively investing in enhancing the infrastructure available to traffic police officers. By installing modern traffic police booths at 15 strategic locations throughout the city, including prominent areas like Shalini Ground in Jayanagar 5th Block, Jayanagar Metro Station Signal, Chunchaghatta Signal, 100 Feet Road Sarakki, Delmia Signal, and Forum Mall Signal.

On this trajectory, Rapido will surpass 20,000 bikes. There are two crucial facets to consider: from the perspective of bike taxi captains, ensuring timely and efficient pick-up and drop-off services for customers is paramount; from the viewpoint of traffic police, irrespective of the mode of transport, our shared objectives remain consistent – promoting safe transportation and mitigating traffic congestion. It is imperative that bike taxi captains establish and maintain regular communication with traffic police officials. Furthermore, I emphasize that prioritizing the use of helmets should be your foremost concern, promoting the safety and well-being of both riders and passengers alike.”
T. Mahadeva, ACP, Jayanagar Police Station, Bengaluru said “Every day, we encounter a multitude of challenges in our daily work routine. The rise in individuals disregarding traffic regulations and the increasing frequency of signal violations are becoming pressing concerns. Nonetheless, we have surveillance cameras strategically positioned at various traffic signals, which continuously monitor and record infractions. Our Traffic Management Center (TMC) diligently processes and registers between 40,000 to 50,000 cases online each day. This robust system underscores the need for Rapido drivers to exhibit responsible behavior by strictly adhering to traffic regulations and working in tandem with our dedicated traffic police officers. By doing so, we play a crucial role in fostering the transformation of Bangalore into a city known for its international standard of safety and responsible driving.”
In addition to providing safety gear, Rapido is actively engaged in promoting safety awareness among its bike taxi captains and the larger two-wheeler rider community. ADAMA India Supports The Akshaya Patra Foundation to Nourish Children’s Future

The latest initiatives include the inauguration of a vehicle in Bhubaneshwar on September 12, 2023, and another in Varanasi on July 15, 2023. These vehicles have a capacity of 1.91 tons and 1.7 tons, respectively, benefiting over 5500 children and supplying a remarkable 64,970 meals per location.

Servotech Power Systems Ltd. inks MoU with IIT Roorkee to Develop Rectifier Units of CCS2 Chargers and Onboard Chargers for Electric Vehicles
New Delhi 19 October 2023: Servotech Power Systems Ltd. (SPSL), India’s leading EV charger manufacturer has recently signed two MOUs with IIT Roorkee to develop state-of-the-art rectifier units for CCS2 chargers and Onboard EV chargers for 2, 3 and 4 Wheelers.
The rectifier unit is an integral component of the CCS2 charger that is currently imported. This collaboration will boost domestic manufacturing capabilities and promote the growth of the domestic EV industry. The onboard charger for electric vehicles is a compact and lightweight charger designed to be mounted directly on two-, three—, and four-wheelers, eliminating the need for a separate charger and enhancing the convenience and user-friendliness of electric vehicles. The onboard charger developed through this collaboration will pave the way for Servotech to expand as a leading OEM supplier for the two-, three– and four-wheeler charger market.

The EO Gurgaon Swings Close the “Relive the 2011 World Cup Glory” of Indian Cricket Veterans

Titled “Relive the 2011 World Cup Glory,” the event featured cricketing legends Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, and Harbhajan Singh, who recounted their incredible journey to victory in the 2011 ICC Men’s World Cup.

On being asked if he felt any pressure to convert his 90 runs to a century, Virender Sehwag shared how he approached the opportunity statistically. He said if he scored one run in each ball then there were 10 chances for him to lose his wicket. Instead, he tried to close the gap with the statistically fit option of scoring a century in the next two balls with a 4 and a 6.
Among jokes and anecdotes, Sehwag also took the time to appreciate Yuvraaj Singh’s contribution to the 2011 World Cup, saying, that without ‘Yuvi’, India would not have made it to the Semi-Finals.
Yuvraj Singh’s journey was profound, from World Cup triumph to chemotherapy. He shared how he had begun to experience pressing symptoms during the World Cup preparations, but he was undiagnosed then. The World Cup demanded full attention and grit, so he just persevered keeping in mind the larger goal. Continuing to talk about his battle with cancer, he emphasized the need for resilience and giving back through his foundation, YuviCan.
He also expressed gratitude for playing alongside Sachin Tendulkar, who not only guided him during his tough times but also became his motivation to win the cup. One of his remarks that also hit home was Singh advice on handling life by maintaining a steadfast mindset even after poor performances.
Harbhajan Singh added a unique perspective on India-Pakistan matches and the intense pressure in homeland games, especially getting match tickets for friends & family. When questioned about his pre-match superstitions, Harbhajan candidly shared his experiences, stating that he had experimented with different rituals, ultimately leaving the outcome to a higher power.
Addressing a difficult loss against South Africa, Singh revealed that it was a topic that nobody spent time discussing immediately after the match but rather chose to move on. He emphasized the resilience required to bounce back after such defeats, a sentiment echoed by many professional athletes.
In response to a business-related query, Singh drew parallels between the challenges faced in personal and professional life. He stated that cricketers, like entrepreneurs, experience the cyclical nature of success and failure. He jokingly mentioned how business orders can be realized again soon, but the chance at a World Cup comes only once in 4 years.

TV9 Bangla Sharadiya introduces a groundbreaking plethora of Infotainment
Kolkata, 19th Oct: TV9 Bangla is back with a bang! This Durga puja, the Bengali News Channel from India’s No. 1 News Network showcased assorted infotainment from Sasthi to Dashami. One of the most popular programs, TV9 Bangla Sera Barowari (Best Committee/Club) is a head-to-head competition that selects the best theme-based pandals across the city. The preliminary selection of Sera Barowari (Best Committee/Club) was nominated by the students from the Government Art College who put their efforts in shortlisting the best art on display on the theme-based pandals in Sera Barowari.
Besides, these 50 best-nominated pandals have also been reviewed by the Correspondents of TV9 Bangla News Channel. There are a few categories on Sera Barowari- like Sera Theme (Best Theme), Sera Protima (Best Idol), Sera Paribesh (Best Ambiance), Sera Barowari Pujo (Best Barowari Pujo), Sera Alankar (Best Ornaments), Sera Suraksha (Best Environment-Friendly Mandapa), and Manusher Pashe, (stand by the people) and Mayer Pujo Meyer Hatey (Worship of Goddess Durga Ma from the hands of daughter).
