Mobile Advertising and the Customer Journey: Best Practices for Engagement and Conversions

Sundeep Rana, Co-Founder NetSetGo Media

By Mr. Sundeep Rana, Co-Founder NetSetGo Media

Mobile advertising has become an essential component of marketing strategy in today’s digital world. Because of the growing number of smartphone users, businesses have a fantastic opportunity to communicate with their target audience via mobile devices. To get the most out of mobile advertising, though, it’s critical to understand the consumer experience and adopt best practices for increasing engagement and conversions.

Let us dive into the efficient ways for optimising mobile advertising campaigns at each stage of the consumer journey.

  1. Understanding the Customer Journey: Understanding the customer journey is critical before getting into mobile advertising best practices. The average customer journey includes three stages: awareness, consideration, and conversion. To effectively engage and convert potential clients, each stage necessitates a unique approach.
  1. Awareness (Stage 1):

Customers are introduced to your brand for the first time at the awareness stage. Consider the following recommended practises to attract their attention and raise brand awareness

  • Design visually appealing and attention-grabbing ad creatives that communicate your brand’s distinct value proposition in seconds. To leave a lasting impression, use brilliant colours, succinct messaging, and high-quality graphics.
  • Landing Pages That Are Mobile-Friendly: Make sure your landing pages are mobile-friendly and load rapidly. A consistent mobile experience will entice customers to explore deeper.
  • Targeted Ad Placement: Determine which platforms and channels your target audience frequents. Display ads on mobile apps, social media, and famous websites to boost the visibility of your brand.
  1. Consideration (Stage 2)

Customers reach the consideration stage after becoming aware of your brand and comparing your products or services to competitors. Focus on the following tactics to boost engagement and conversions:

  • Personalised Messaging: Use user data and insights to create personalised ad content that is relevant to the preferences and interests of your target audience. Customise your messaging to meet their concerns and emphasise the benefits of your offerings.
  • Video Advertising: Showcase your products or services with short, compelling videos. Videos have greater engagement rates and can effectively and immersively express your brand’s message.
  • Implement remarketing ads to re-engage users who have previously expressed interest in your brand. Display customised advertising that remind people of the benefits of converting.
  1. Conversion (Stage 3)

Conversion is the ultimate stage of the customer journey, in which consumers make a purchase or complete a desired action. Consider the following best practices to increase conversions through mobile advertising:

  • Strong and prominent Call-to-Action (CTA): Include a strong and visible CTA in your ads that urges consumers to take the desired action, such as purchasing, signing up for a newsletter, or downloading an app. To establish a sense of urgency, use action-oriented language.
  • Conversion procedure Simplified: Ensure that the conversion procedure is simple and optimised for mobile devices. Reduce the amount of steps required and simplify form fields to reduce friction and boost completion likelihood.
  • A/B Testing: Test different permutations of ad creatives, CTAs, and landing pages on a continuous basis to determine the most effective combinations. Analyse the data to improve your marketing and increase conversion rates.

Remember that each audience and campaign is unique, so test and modify your strategy to your specific goals and target demographic. Stay attentive to emerging trends and technologies in the mobile advertising landscape to stay ahead of the game.

Mobile advertising offers immense potential for businesses to engage with their target audience throughout the customer journey. By understanding the stages of the customer journey and implementing best practices at each stage, marketers can optimize their mobile advertising campaigns for increased engagement and conversions.

B2B Companies See 33% Cash Flow Improvement with the Adoption of Integrated Payment Gateways According to Gaviti

Automation capabilities allow finance teams to better stabilize receivables and reduce operating costs across the organization, according to a recent study. “Teams recoup an average of 227 hours per month along with better employee retention rates,” said Yan Lazarev, Co-Founder & CEO of Gaviti.

Tel Aviv, Israel, June 14, 2023 — The latest research conducted by Gaviti, a leading accounts receivable collections platform, revealed B2B companies who collect payments using online payment gateways reduce late payments by an additional 33% compared with companies that use A/R automation alone for their dunning process. Researchers reviewed over 14 million invoices sent through automation or preset workflows between 2019 and 2023, highlighting the contrast between those who used a gateway and their peers who saw an increase in delinquent payments.

While there has been a rise in the adoption of accounting and receivables automation over the last number of years, the majority of companies still rely on traditional manual practices. Gaviti’s research showed that by adopting A/R collections automation, companies see DSO improvement of up to 34% in the first six months alone. What’s more, the study shows that companies who go one step further to implement payment gateways into their collections strategy, experienced an additional cash flow improvement of 35% for a total of over 50% improvement.

“The 33% faster time to receivables is only the upfront benefit,” said Yan Lazarev, Co-Founder & CEO of Gaviti. “Teams who utilize multiple tools across our platform are seeing collections teams recoup an average of 227 hours per month along with better employee retention rates.” The study focuses solely on the benefits of payment gateways, not taking into account the boost in cash flow teams experienced when moving from manual processes to full automation.

“In addition to a more reliable cash flow, the study showed a drop of late payments by 9% year over year and average days late (ADD) decrease by 34%,” said Michelle Cohen, Lead Data Analyst at Gaviti. “In addition, we were pleasantly surprised to find a 3% increase in early payments YoY.” With near-quarterly interest rate hikes, companies are putting more effort into avoiding financing ventures and keeping cash on hand. The ability to reduce both resources necessary to process invoices and the ability to collect on them in a third of the time can give companies the boost they need to move faster towards new initiatives at a lower cost.

Bringing dedicated automation technology for the A/R collections teams will empower the teams beyond collecting receivables faster. For the first time ever, finance teams have data at their fingertips to manage credit in a smart way using customers’ payment histories. In addition, managers can gain an overview of department and employee processes, identifying opportunities for further optimization.

Vagaries of a Post-Covid Start-up: Navigating the Hybrid Work Model

By Dr. Ananthakrishnan Gopal, Co-Founder & CTO, DaveAI

Introduction:

As the world grappled with the unprecedented challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, startups faced unique hurdles and had to adapt swiftly to survive. In this guest post, I, as a Co-founder of DaveAI, a dynamic start-up, share our journey through the trials and triumphs of the post-Covid era. With a team spread across the country, we embraced the hybrid work model, discovered the power of remote collaboration, and witnessed the transformative effects of in-person connections.

Adapting to the New Normal:

When the lockdowns hit in 2020, our small start-up of 10 members, based primarily in Bangalore, found itself at a crossroads. The closure of retail stores, our main clients, meant reevaluating our business model and seeking new opportunities. We quickly pivoted, targeting Large Scale OEMs and transitioning to a web-based approach. This shift not only expanded our potential customer base but also opened our eyes to the immense talent available nationwide. Recognizing the strength of India’s diversity, we fully embraced an online-remote work model, allowing us to recruit talent from various states.

The Power of Remote Collaboration:

As we settled into the remote work environment, we discovered both the advantages and limitations it presented. Communication, though affected, remained effective, and some team members thrived in the newfound flexibility and focus. However, we acknowledged that extended periods of isolation impacted certain individuals’ performance. We adapted, focusing on the strengths each team member brought to the table. To foster a sense of camaraderie and alleviate loneliness, we offered the option of working from co-working spaces in major cities, allowing employees to work together a few days a week.

The Importance of In-Person Connections:

While remote work proved functional, we recognized that it lacked the depth of connection and ideation that could arise from face-to-face interactions. To bridge this gap, we organized an offsite in Goa, bringing our geographically dispersed team of 45 members together. This gathering not only facilitated personal connections but also fueled the birth of new ideas and initiatives. The experience proved invaluable, inspiring us to blend the best of both worlds—remote work and in-person collaboration.

Embracing the Hybrid Work Model:

Motivated by the success of our offsite, we established a permanent office space in Bangalore with a capacity of 25 seats, accommodating approximately one-fourth of our workforce. The office serves as a hub for thinking, discussions, and motivation while embracing the hybrid work model. Most of our team members continue to work remotely, but we encourage periodic visits and gatherings to nurture team bonding and spur innovative thinking. This approach allows us to benefit from diverse talent while ensuring a sense of belonging and collaboration.

Looking Ahead:

As we inaugurate our new office, we reflect on the journey that brought us here and look forward to the exciting growth and development that lies ahead. Our commitment to nurturing a world-class team of thinkers, innovators, and sales and marketing pioneers remains at the core of our ethos. With a blend of remote collaboration and in-person connections, we are poised to continue bringing cutting-edge technology to the world of sales and marketing, driving the next wave of transformative growth.

Conclusion:

The post-Covid era has been one of immense learning and adaptation for start-ups like ours. By embracing the hybrid work model, we have discovered the power of remote collaboration and the significance of in-person connections. As we embark on this new phase, we are confident that our dynamic and diverse team will continue to innovate, ideate, and revolutionize the world of sales and marketing. Together, we will shape a future that combines the best of virtual and physical experiences, driven by a shared vision of growth and success.

Unisys Releases 2022 Sustainability Report Highlighting Progress in ESG Performance

BLUE BELL, Pa., June 14, 2023 – Unisys (NYSE: UIS) announces the release of the company’s 2022 Sustainability Report, detailing the progress made in the past year towards achieving the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals of the organization. Since releasing its first corporate sustainability report in 1994, Unisys has continued to drive breakthroughs not only for the company but also for its clients. This year’s report is no exception.

“From the diversity of our team ranging from associates to the board of directors, as well as delivering on our long-standing environmental commitments, I am proud of our progress — yet recognize that there is more work to do,” said Peter Altabef chair and chief executive officer at Unisys.

Meaningful advancements in making climate actions a business priority

In 2022, Unisys set a new goal to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) for Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) sources by 2030. In addition, the company accomplished its 2026 goal to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 75%, five years ahead of schedule.

Unisys continues to drive excellence in minimizing its environmental footprint from the associate to the corporate level. The success of these efforts to date is a testimony of the company and its leadership team in making climate action a business priority.

Key achievements include:

Reducing CO2e emissions from air travel for business by 19% since 2019 and car travel for business by 57% during the same period.
Driving down energy consumption globally by 38% from 2019 to 2022.
Reducing its real estate global footprint by 16% over the past four years.
Collecting nearly 200,000 pounds of end-of-life electronics in 2022 and recycling these devices with partners.

Fulfilling the aims of an inclusive and engaged culture

The 2022 Sustainability Report highlights the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). One area of progress is the growth in the percentage of women both in the workforce and in leadership positions:

Women held 49% of U.S. workforce leadership positions in 2022, up from 42% in 2021.
Women in global leadership positions reached 43% in 2022, up from 38% in 2021.
U.S. employees who belong to Underrepresented Ethnic Groups (UREGs) grew from 27% in 2021 to 31% in 2022.

In 2022, Unisys launched mandatory DEI training for all associates to make sure DEI is embedded in all levels of the company. Additionally, every senior leader at Unisys participates in the company’s “Inclusive Leadership” workshop, which helps them understand and mitigate unconscious bias. The impact of these efforts is demonstrated in the Unisys DEI Index, an annual survey of its associates to assess perspectives of DEI efforts across the company.

In 2022, key successes include:

80% of associates feel comfortable being themselves at work.
77% of associate respondents globally believed that everyone at Unisys, regardless of background, has an equal opportunity to succeed at the company.
70% viewed their experiences at Unisys related to DEI positively.
70% feel a strong sense of belonging at Unisys.

A culture of values from the top

From a governance perspective, Unisys continues to drive a values-based culture, which is reflected in the company’s leadership. In 2022, more than half (seven) of its 12

board members were either female or belonged to ethnically diverse groups.

Further, the company’s leadership team has committed to growing relationships with suppliers and partners that have like-minded ESG policies and/or programs, asking its network of 6,000 suppliers to align with the company’s values outlined in the Unisys Business Partner Code of Business Conduct. The commitment of Unisys partners to the company’s ESG goals advances progress toward building a sustainable enterprise for the company and its clients.

“The programs and policies we live by every day create a better employee experience and enable our people to better serve our clients and positively impact our communities,” said Claudius O. Sokenu, general counsel and chief administrative officer. “The successes of the past year and our determination to lead in ESG make the world a better place.”

My child has an Autoimmune Disease – What are the dos and don’ts?

Dr Sagar BhattadDr. Sagar Bhattad, Consultant – Paediatric Immunology & Rheumatology, Aster RV Hospital

Children fall sick regularly. As they grow up, start going to school and have exposure to other kids and new environments, sickness becomes a regular feature. The child falls sick, you take them to the doctor, follow the instructions and they get better. Sadly, it is not this simple for autoimmune diseases. Has your child been recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease? Don’t know what to do or not do? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Everyone falls sick. There is nothing new or alarming about that. It is concerning when the condition gets severe or has no cure. And when a child is diagnosed with something serious, the parents’ world comes crashing down. They don’t know what to do, what not to do, how to take care of the child, which doctor to see next and the list is never-ending, just like the disease itself.

What are Autoimmune Diseases?

An autoimmune disease is where the immune system malfunctions and attacks the body instead of protecting it. The immune system mistakes the healthy cells to be infections or foreign invaders and attacks them., So, the immune system keeps fighting the body and destroying the healthy cells, instead of protecting them.

The exact reason or cause for autoimmune diseases are still unknown. A lot of research is going into finding the cause behind the various autoimmune diseases. These diseases can either be genetic or due to environmental exposure. Sometimes, an environmental factor can trigger the underlying autoimmune disease if the child has inherited a defective gene.

As a parent, it is important to remember that autoimmune diseases are not communicable, meaning you cannot get them because someone you stay with or someone in contact with you has a disease.

What happens when a child has an autoimmune disease?

When a child is diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, the best possible treatment is started immediately. Autoimmune diseases can cause severe damage to the organs in the body, so treating them or controlling them at the earliest is very important. With proper treatment and constant monitoring, the child can live a regular life with minimal restrictions.

Who is at risk of Autoimmune Disease?

The autoimmune disease generally runs in families. There are cases where someone with absolutely no family history of the disease can be diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Here are some risk factors which can increase the chances of an individual developing an autoimmune disease:

  • Genes – Every human receives 2 sets of genes. When one of the parents or their parents has an autoimmune disease, there are high chances for them to pass down this defective gene. While one might have a defective gene, it is not necessary for them to have the disease. It only increases their risk.
  • Weight – Your weight can sometimes play havoc with your system. It can add pressure to your joints, leading to chronic joint pains or arthritis, and can also cause some organs to malfunction.
  • Age – Autoimmune diseases are prone to affect younger people than older people. It can affect children too.
  • Race – Certain races and ethnicities are more prone to some autoimmune diseases than others. The reason is not very clear but it is connected to genetics.
  • Gender – Many autoimmune diseases affect girls more than boys
  • Medicines – Certain medications can trigger the underlying defective gene in the body. As a result, one might develop an autoimmune disease that has otherwise been dormant until the medicine interfered.
  • Other Diseases – an existing autoimmune disease increases the risk of developing another related autoimmune disease.

Can Autoimmune Disease Be Prevented?

Sadly, no. An autoimmune disease is one where the cause is unknown. When you are not sure about the cause of a disease or when it can affect the child, you cannot prevent it effectively. It is not advisable to treat something that has not occurred yet.

Even in the case of genetic health issues where the chances of a child contracting an autoimmune disease are high, you cannot prevent it completely. Doctors might prescribe certain medicines or treatments for the mother-to-be, but this can only reduce the chances of the disease passing on to the child.

An autoimmune disease can be very difficult to live with. However, with the right diagnosis and timely treatment, you can work on reducing the impact of the disease and help the child lead a close to normal life. The advancement of science and technology has enabled children with autoimmune diseases to enjoy their childhood, without much of a compromise.
