Empowering Men Through Positive Masculinity: BWB Network

by: Abel Boaz

Abel Boaz

In an era of dynamic progress towards inclusivity, the spotlight predominantly falls on the support and empowerment of diverse genders. However, within this ever-shifting mosaic of change, an unspoken need remains—a dedicated space where the male voice can find resonance, empowerment, and elevation. This is where BWB Network takes center stage—a pioneering initiative forging a path for men, creating a platform that redefines the core of positive masculinity and brotherhood.

Amidst the clamor of evolving conversations surrounding gender norms, BWB Network emerges as a resounding testament to the transformative potency of nurturing connections, understanding, and growth within the male community. Founder Abel Boaz perceptively recognized the gap in the landscape of support and embarked boldly to reshape the narrative.

At its essence, BWB Network is not just a platform; it’s a way of life. It is a realm that acknowledges the import of men’s experiences, aspirations, and challenges, bridging a gap that has often gone unnoticed. While the global discourse navigates around toxic masculinity and societal paradigms, BWB Network offers a distinct perspective—nurturing the empowerment of men to embrace their individuality while fostering an environment of shared growth.

Guided by Abel Boaz’s visionary leadership, this movement propels into uncharted realms of discourse and introspection. The platform’s commitment to reshaping discussions encompassing positive masculinity, personal development, and professional growth charts a promising course. Beyond a mere digital gathering, it becomes a haven where dialogues transcend virtual boundaries, igniting a camaraderie that magnifies the power within unity.

In an evolving world, the significance of this platform amplifies. It underscores the ever-expanding spectrum of gender discourse, emphasizing that empowerment knows no limitations. In the midst of shifting norms and evolving ideals, the platform emerges as a guiding light—an invitation for men around the globe to not merely partake in conversations, but to shape them.

The redefinition of positive masculinity is not a mere catchphrase within BWB Network; it’s a mission ardently undertaken. In an era characterized by change, empowerment, and growth, this journey stands as an emblem of progress—a resolute reminder that brotherhood, unity, and comprehension are the pillars of a more inclusive future.

Abel Boaz’s commitment to redefining masculinity and fostering equality resonates through his work, “Breaking Barriers: Empowering Men for Equality.” This book emphasizes the essential role men play in achieving gender equality, promoting constructive forms of masculinity, addressing structural barriers, and encouraging men to actively participate in promoting positive change. By embracing diverse identities, challenging harmful norms, and empowering men, the book envisions a more inclusive and equitable world for all genders.

In a world where traditional boundaries blur, BWB Network excels in forging profound connections among men from diverse walks of life—be it professional, cultural, or experiential. Beyond the realms of professional networking, it metamorphoses into a sanctuary where aspirations collide, collaborations ignite, and dreams manifest.

A captivating facet of BWB Network lies in its commitment to dual growth—both personal and professional. Within its digital realm resides a treasure trove of resources, encompassing leadership programs and skill-enhancing workshops. Insightful webinars and panel discussions offer guidance in navigating modern complexities, acting as a perennial source of motivation and encouragement.

However, the platform influence extends beyond the digital realm. It actively nurtures a safe and inclusive environment where members candidly share challenges, seek guidance, and draw inspiration. This commitment extends beyond networking events, forging strategic partnerships with organizations dedicated to dismantling gender biases and reshaping societal norms.

Abel Boaz’s journey embodies determination and vision. While directing Abellian Finman, he guides businesses toward financial stability, and his role in propelling BWB Network underscores his commitment to personal growth. His actions epitomize modern brotherhood, uniting men for excellence and impactful change.

“The true strength of brotherhood lies in our collective commitment to uplifting one another. Through shared aspirations and mutual support, we pave the way for empowerment and progress,” says Abel Boaz, CEO of BWB Network.

Boaz’s commitment extends to BWB Network’s forthcoming mobile app, poised to launch soon. This innovation is set to redefine connectivity and empowerment, providing an intuitive avenue for networking, relationship-building, and accessing valuable resources. A notable feature is the introduction of video-sharing capabilities within the app, intensifying the exchange of ideas and experiences. Additionally, the app’s safety features ensure messages are sent only upon mutual consent, reaffirming BWB Network’s dedication to maintaining a secure and meaningful virtual space.

As BWB Network amalgamates brotherhood, growth, and empowerment, it paves a path towards a future where unity propels change, connections spark revolutions, and men collectively illuminate a world abundant with inclusivity and boundless potential.

Bloomberg’s global crusade against Safer Nicotine Alternatives is impacting LMICs significantly

Bengaluru 18th July 2023 : A total of INR 55,449 crore in foreign funding has been received by Indian NGOs in the past three years. While many NGO are important to support the government’s efforts towards public good, it is not a hidden fact that many work with a larger political agenda. These NGOs are guided by both domestic and international forces, which include the donor agencies and their think-tanks to push for a policy agenda in LMICs that may not be suitable for the masses.

For instance, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has been running multi-million-dollar campaigns to try to shape the lives of ordinary consumers. What began as a campaign on Big Gulps in New York City has ballooned into a massively funded operation that uses grants and NGO funding on many tobacco issues, mostly on outlawing safer alternatives.

His efforts have quickly scaled to the level of the World Health Organization, including funding US anti-tobacco groups in the millions to even go so far to completely outlaw nicotine alternatives in developing countries across Latin America, Asia, and more. While nations on these continents typically have larger smoking populations than in the US and Europe, they have thus far been deprived of the life-saving nicotine alternatives that would serve as a less harmful switch away from traditional smoking.

In the name of “halting tobacco,” Bloomberg and the organizations he funds have actively sought to stop the tobacco harm reduction movement by miscasting certain alternatives as “just as bad” as combustible tobacco. Even though health agencies in nations such as the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Sweden, Japan and even Canada actively recommend some form of alternatives to get smokers to quit, this option is kept off the table in developing nations where Bloomberg built an influence.

In February of this year, Bloomberg’s commitment to severely restrict harm reduction increased significantly to nearly $420 million, hoping to drive a larger global campaign in 110 countries around the world to cut off citizens from nicotine alternatives that are less harmful. Over $280 million of that money will focus on developing countries, offering grants to political groups, health agencies, and politicians to implement a zero-tolerance nicotine agenda.

Bloomberg’s approach, and by extension the dozens of health and anti-tobacco groups he funds, are not in denial of the real scientific evidence on tobacco harm reduction. Rather than endorse the market-derived alternatives that have been successful in getting adult smokers to quit. They have created a false equivalence between the safer alternatives and a cigarette.

That not only harms public health but continues to fester a narrative of misinformation that has captured many public health researchers and government agencies. We know this all too well from our cross-national survey of health practitioners in Europe, in which many doctors were simply unaware of the growing category of less harmful nicotine alternatives.

Over a million Seedballs Dispersed in Fragile Ecosystems in India by C20’s Global Seedball Campaign

Over a million Seedballs Dispersed in Fragile Ecosystems in India by C20’s Global Seedball Campaign

Mumbai / August 18, 2023: The Global Seedball Campaign by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized under the banner of the C20 Working Group on Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC) – Climate, Environment and Net Zero Targets, has reached the significant milestone of producing more than 1.3 million seedballs globally since its launch in April this year. The objective of the initiative is to promote environmental sustainability and restoration of ecosystems by producing and distributing over a million seedballs by the end of this year.

With a current presence across 5 continents and 12 Indian states, stakeholders across the country are taking active part in C20’s Global Seedball Campaign, including multiple state governments, school and college students, non-governmental organizations such as AYUDH, the youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Rotary Club, the National Cadet Core (NCC), and others.

The campaign, first launched in Kerala, quickly spread across states like Sikkim, Orissa, Telangana, AP, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand in collaboration with various institutional partners and other eminent dignitaries.

1.3 million seedballs have been disbursed globally especially in areas with a special focus on fragile ecosystems. The initiative was inaugurated in Puducherry this month by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the Hon’ble President of India, with active participation from the state Government.

Said Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, Troika Member, C20 & Vice Chairman, Mata Amritanandanmayi Math, “This Global Seedball Campaign aims to inspire the youth and masses to foster collaborative efforts towards a greener and sustainable future. It is gaining remarkable momentum in India with numerous participants, including students and NCC cadets, eagerly contributing to seedball creation. The initiative has received widespread support from local communities, from Kerala to Sikkim and Gujarat to Guwahati, with tens of thousands of people participating in making and scattering seedballs in forest areas. It has made a significant impact on fragile ecosystems in India, promoting biodiversity and ecological balance.”

The Seedball Campaign was launched at the global level earlier this year by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), the Chairperson of C20 India. Encouraging everyone in the world to take part in this campaign, Amma said: “Alignment with nature is the lasting and closest bond for the human body and life. Without the elemental forces of earth, fire, water, air and space, humankind and other creatures will cease to exist. Our essential consciousness is the totality of all these forces. As long as we do not acknowledge this eternal unity between humankind and these natural forces, peace, happiness, and harmony will remain a dream.”

A seedball is a small ball or pallet made of seeds mixed with clay and other organic materials to hold the ball together and provide nutrition to the seeds. Thrown or scattered in areas where vegetation is needed, the seedballs rely on natural Monsoon rainfall to germinate and grow into mature plants.

Creating seedballs is an ancient technique for reforestation and soil restoration that is today being carried out by community groups worldwide and includes people of all ages. It offers an environmentally friendly and low-cost solution with the potential to make a significant impact on the health and resilience of our planet’s ecosystems.

The Global Seedball Campaign, organized in collaboration with AYUDH, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s global youth wing, aims to disperse seedballs in fragile ecosystems worldwide. Volunteers from various centers of Mata Amritanandamayi Math in India, Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Australia, and Africa have come together to inspire people to contribute to this noble cause.

Dr. Maneesha V Ramesh, C20 SRC Working Group Coordinator said: “Every year, around 10 million hectares of forests worldwide are being destroyed. This alarming trend has disrupted the ecological equilibrium, leading to unfavorable consequences for the earth’s climate and biodiversity. As deforestation continues, immediate measures are imperative to safeguard the diversity of life on the planet, to ensure the well-being and continuity of countless species on earth. The Seedball Campaign, a simple and holistic approach devised by Amma is a major step in this direction to bring in behavioral change in all walks of life and across age groups to preserve nature and the ecosystem around us. In the long run this will lead to reduction in biodiversity degradation, equipping communities to become resilient to climate change and its impacts.
