Wholesale Price Inflation Eases to 0.13% in September 2025 as Food and Energy Prices Moderate: PHDCCI

Wholesale Price Index (WPI) data for September 2025 (Provisional), showing that the annual inflation rate stood at 0.13 percent compared to September 2024. On a month-on-month basis, the WPI declined by 0.19 percent, reflecting continued moderation in wholesale price pressures, said Mr. Rajeev Juneja, President, PHDCCI in a press statement issued here today.

The low overall inflation in September was primarily driven by declines in food and primary article prices, even as manufactured product prices showed a mild increase. In the Primary Articles category, prices fell largely due to lower prices of cereals, pulses, vegetables, and non-food articles such as fibres and oilseeds, which is also reflected in CPI for September 2025, he said.

He added the moderation in wholesale prices was mainly due to lower food and energy costs, a strong agricultural output, and stable commodity prices globally. Improved supply-side conditions following a good monsoon, alongside government interventions to check retail prices of essential commodities, also contributed to the decline.

However, the manufactured goods sector continued to witness moderate price rises due to elevated input costs, particularly for raw materials like metals and chemicals, and steady domestic demand in industrial sectors such as cement, steel, and consumer durables, he said.

International crude oil prices showed mild volatility during the month, but remained range-bound, preventing a significant pass-through to domestic fuel inflation. Meanwhile, favourable currency movements and easing global commodity prices (particularly in edible oils and industrial inputs) further reduced cost pressures on producers, he said.

Looking aheadwholesale inflation is expected to remain benign in the coming months, supported by adequate food supplystable global commodity prices, and government measures to control inflation in key sectors. The harvest of kharif crops and the expected arrival of rabi produce in the next quarter are likely to keep food inflation contained, says Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI.

Bristol Myers Squibb Launches Kopozgo for oHCM Treatment in India

Bristol Myers Squibb Launches Kopozgo® (Mavacamten) in India for the treatment of symptomatic Obstructive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (oHCM)

Hyderabad, India, October 14, 2025: Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) today announced the launch of Kopozgo® (Mavacamten) in India. Kopozgo is the first and only oral, selective cardiac myosin inhibitor approved in India for the treatment of adults with symptomatic New York Heart Association (NYHA) Class II–III obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).

Symptomatic obstructive HCM is an often-inherited heart disease that can be a chronic, debilitating and progressive condition where patients may experience symptoms of shortness of breath, dizziness and fatigue as well as serious, life-altering complications, including heart failure, arrhythmias, stroke and in rare cases (~1%) sudden cardiac death. It affects about 1 in 500 people worldwide, and it is estimated that as many as 2.8 million people in India may be living with the condition; however, 80-90 % patients remain undiagnosed.

Existing medical treatments in India, such as beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, and disopyramide, reduce symptoms but do not address the underlying cause. Invasive surgical procedures, including septal reduction therapy (alcohol septal ablation or myectomy), are options but may not be suitable or available for all patients. Additionally, these procedures require substantial operator and surgical expertise. Therefore, medical management of oHCM remains a major unmet need.

Kopozgo is the firstin-class disease-specific treatment targeting the core pathophysiological mechanism of obstructive HCM, leading to improvement in functional capacity of heart and symptoms.

Mavacamten was approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) with an import license issued on March 6, 2025. Kopozgo is now available to patients in India. The approval of Kopozgo in India is based on positive efficacy and safety results from two Phase III clinical trials, EXPLORER-HCM and VALOR-HCM.

Sanjay Sharma, General Manager and Managing Director, BMS India, mentioned, “With the launch of Kopozgo in India, patients with oHCM now have a promising first-in-class treatment option. This breakthrough brings hope to individuals and families facing this condition, giving clinicians a novel therapy to address the unmet need in treatment. Bristol Myers Squibb is committed to advancing cardiovascular care for patients in India.”

Globally, mavacamten has been widely recognized, with its first approval granted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on April 28, 2022, followed by approval from the European Union on June 26, 2023. Since then, the medicine has continued to expand its reach, receiving marketing authorization in more than 50 countries, underscoring its global significance as a breakthrough therapy for symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

In two phase III clinical studies, mavacamten has shown a consistent efficacy and safety profile. Some of the patients experienced a transient drop in ejection fraction (the heart’s pumping ability); however, all patients recovered following interruption.

Bristol Myers Squibb has been present in India for over 20 years and is presently providing treatments in oncology and hematology. The introduction of Kopozgo in India marks an extension of Bristol Myers Squibb’s therapeutic offerings into cardiology. This development builds on the company’s strong presence in oncology and hematology, representing an expansion of its portfolio. BMS aims to offer best-in-class global treatments to patients in India and is committed to bringing more medicines to more patients faster.

Record-Low Inflation Opens Window for Growth Acceleration: PHDCCI

India, 14th oct 2025: CPI has seen a sharp decline in India’s headline inflation to 1.54% in September 2025, the lowest in over eight years according to the date released by Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation today.

Rajeev Juneja, President - PHDCCI (1)

“The record-low inflation offers a strong foundation for India’s next phase of growth. It is a moment of opportunity to revitalize private investmentstimulate consumptionand accelerate job creation,” said Mr. Rajeev Juneja, President, PHDCCI in a press statement issued here today.

Food inflation (Provisional) registered a –2.28 % year-on-year decline, extending its downward trend for the fourth consecutive month. Among categories, the sharpest declines were driven by lower inflation in vegetables, oil & fats, fruits, pulses, cereals, eggs, as well as moderated increases in energy and fuel prices. Better arrivals of vegetables, cereals, and pulses at mandis led to a correction in retail prices, he said.

He added, “The moderation in food and fuel prices has provided much-needed relief to households and improved purchasing power. Going forward, we urge the government to leverage this price stability to enhance credit availabilityease of doing business, and export competitiveness, especially for MSMEs and labour-intensive sectors.”

This phase of low inflation should be complemented by accelerated implementation of infrastructure and logistics projects to lower input costs, further support for agriculture supply chains to prevent food price spikes, and continued focus on technology-driven productivity gains in manufacturing and services, he added.

We anticipate that India’s inflation will remain within a comfortable range over the next two quarters, supported by adequate food supplies, moderate energy costs, and prudent monetary management by the Reserve Bank of India said Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI.

Indian Cancer Society Unveils Breast Cancer Awareness Film

Indian Cancer Society Launches Breast Cancer Awareness Film Inspiring Women to Break the Stigma and Stay Two Steps Ahead of breast cancer

Mumbai, 14th October 2025: The Indian Cancer Society (ICS), dedicated to raising awareness and supporting those affected by cancer, is proud to announce the launch of its new film on breast cancer awareness, aimed at breaking the stigma, encouraging early detection, and inspiring communities through powerful storytelling. Through an impactful message, the film seeks to promote proactive health-seeking behaviour and spread hope among patients, survivors, and families. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to empower individuals with knowledge and encourage a united fight against breast cancer.

thumbnail_BC film (1)

According to GLOBOCAN 2022, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in India, accounting for approximately 26.6% of all female cancers. In 2022, an estimated 192,020 new cases of breast cancer were reported among women in the country, and the number of new cases is projected to continue increasing in the coming years.

Late diagnosis continues to be a key challenge, as many women are diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to reduced survival rates. Delayed diagnosis is tied to a lack of awareness, socio-economic factors, stigma, cultural barriers and limited access to diagnostic and treatment facilities. To address these challenges, the Indian Cancer Society has come up with a new film on breast cancer awareness and plans to roll out a campaign, timed with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The film uses the simple, everyday act of “touch” to convey the power of self-examination in early detection of breast cancer. It shows a woman who uses her touch daily to care for others and make everyday judgments checking her child’s temperature, checking fruit ripeness, food doneness, or fabric quality etc. The same caring touch that ensures others’ well-being can also protect her own life.

This short film highlights the importance of Self-Breast Examination (SBE), which is recommended for all, especially the premenopausal women between the 5th and 10th day of their menstrual cycle, and on one fixed day each month for postmenopausal women. The complete details of SBE and steps involved are captured in our website To know more, please visit, Indian Cancer Society – Breast Cancer

To maximize reach and impact, the film will be released in five languages (Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali and Kannada), enabling wider visibility and ensuring that people from diverse regions can connect with its message of awareness and hope. The film will be aired on Digital platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and screened through collaborations with hospitals, corporate partners, and community groups. “Through this film, ICS wants to bring attention to the fact that awareness is the first step to prevention,” said Mrs. Usha Thorat, Hon. Secretary and Managing Trustee, ICS. “By sharing real stories, we hope to inspire women to prioritize their health and encourage families to be supportive.”

As part of the campaign, several screening camps will be organized across the month, ensuring that awareness is coupled with timely action. This initiative underscores ICS’s unwavering commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge and driving meaningful change in the fight against breast cancer.

Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar Ji’s Taiwan Visit: Bridging Himalayan Science and Modern Innovation

Taipei, Taiwan — 14th Oct 2025 — The recent visit of Himalayan Siddha Akshar Ji, a globally renowned spiritual leader and founder of Akshar Yoga Kendraa, to Taiwan marked a momentous convergence of ancient Himalayan Science of Consciousness with the technological prowess of Northeast Asia.

Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar Ji’s Taiwan Visit

In a historic conversation between innovation and tradition, Grand Master Akshar ji presented a visionary integration of metaphysical knowledge and contemporary science, encouraging the audience to embrace conscious evolution in the digital age.

Rediscovering the Himalayas Within

Speaking to seekers, professionals, and innovators in Taiwan, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar Ji shed light on the deeper nature of Yoga — not just a physical practice, but a path towards higher consciousness.

“Globally, humans practice yoga, but peace still evades us,” he declared.

“Change starts when we revisit ancient Himalayan processes and articulate them in language the contemporary mind can understand.”

He added that the Himalayas represent the pinnacle of awareness, a holy inner peak reached via quiet, equipoise, and harmony — despite the din of technological advancement.

Why Northeast Asia Resonates with Himalayan Wisdom

Nations like Taiwan, Japan, China, South Korea, and Hong Kong — the world over renowned for innovation and accuracy — possess an intrinsic cultural affinity with Himalayan philosophy. Their common desire for excellence, discipline, and finesse is reflective of the Siddha path of awareness and expertise.

“We shouldn’t be scared of technology or AI,” Grand Master Akshar ji clarified.

“They are not the issue — unconscious use is.”.

Spirituality and technology may evolve in concert when informed by consciousness.

This message struck a deep chord among Taiwan’s AI researchers, robotic engineers, and research scientists, most of whom understood that the inherent purpose of technology is not about dependence, but human evolution.

Bridging Metaphysics and Modern Science

In interactive classes and meditative sessions, Siddhaa Akshar Ji deciphered ancient yogic sciences — like Bhramari Pranayama — using the language of contemporary physics and neuro-energetics.

He uncovered how sound, geometry, and breathing comprise an exact energy architecture within the human system, correlating neural circuits and vibrational spaces to expanded states of consciousness.

Further elaborating, he equated yogic experiences with theories such as wormholes, time dilation, and fluidity of consciousness, leading participants to navigate shifted observation of time and space using controlled attention and energy techniques.

Translating Himalayan wisdom into the terms of quantum mechanics and consciousness science, Grand Master Akshar made spirituality a concrete, measurable reality from vague mysticism.

Evolving Beyond — From Human to Superhuman

The Taiwan sessions ended in a profound realization by participants:

“Spirituality is not about giving up the world — it is about upgrading yourself.”

Through the Himalayan Science of Consciousness, Grand Master Akshar reinforced the fact that enlightenment was not an accident but a methodical evolution possible through disciplined control of breath, mind, and energy.

When inner technology (Prana, Mind, Sound) harmonizes with outer technology (AI, Communication, Science), humanity moves toward a new era — one where peace and progress coexist.

A Living Transmission of Awareness

Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar ji’s visit to Taiwan served as a transmission of energy and consciousness, reminding audiences that the wisdom of the Himalayas is not ancient history, but a living, evolving science guiding modern civilization toward balance and awareness.

As his speech and presence echoed throughout Taiwan’s mountains and cities, a silence awakened — from geeks to truth seekers.

PVL 2025: Bengaluru Torpedoes register fourth straight win of the season

14th October, 2025: Bengaluru Torpedoes defeated Chennai Blitz 17-15, 14-16, 17-15, 16-14 in the RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League powered by Scapia at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad on Monday, to continue their winning run in the tournament. Joel Benjamin was named the Player of the Match.

Chennai started the game at a lightning-fast pace with captain Jerome Vinith and Luiz Felipe Perotto leading the charge. Tarun Gowda synced well with setter Sameer to provide more depth to the Blitz’s attacks.

Banglore Torpedoes

Bengaluru relied on Joel Benjamin and Sethu to counter-attack. Mujeeb, Jishnu, and Nitin Minhas helped the Torpedoes in dominating the middle zone.

Once the Torpedoes’ defence began working in tandem, Chennai started finding it difficult to stitch their attacks. Libero Midhunkumar defended well for the Torpedoes, while skipper Mathew West ensured to find the right target for his passes.

Jerome and Perotto continued Chennai’s fightback. A couple of unforced errors from the Torpedoes opened up the door for the Blitz to make a comeback in the game. Blocker Aditya Rana’s presence on court put belief back in Chennai’s court.

Penrose made it count at a crucial juncture to tilt the game back in the Torpedoes’ corner. Two smart reviews from Coach David Lee proved fruitful, ensuring Bengaluru stayed in the lead. Penrose grew in confidence as the night progressed and brought the goods when Bengaluru needed the most, and the Torpedoes won the game 3-1.
