Bengaluru Margadarshana – First Ever Walk-through Map of Major Roads Inaugurated

Bengaluru 25th February 2023: Bengaluru Margadarshana, a first-ever walk-through map of major roads and junctions that depicts how several major roads seamlessly connect to the central business district of the city was inaugurated by Pavitra Shankar, Managing Director, Brigade Enterprises Limited, today. Located under the flyover crossover after Hebbal junction near Nagashettihalli, Bengaluru Margadarshana, which is sponsored by Brigade Group in association with The Ugly Indian and BBMP also features brief narratives of five centuries of the expansion of Bengaluru since 1537 when the city was founded by Nadaprabhu Kempegowda. It is said that when Kempegowda built his new capital town, he called it Bengaluru as his mother and wife belonged to the hamlet of Hale Bengaluru (Old Bangalore).

Commenting on the initiative, Pavitra Shankar said, “The area is an important crossover point between Nagashettihalli, Kodigehalli and planned layouts like Devinagar and RMV extension. It is also adjacent to a railway crossing which makes it a crossover point for multi-nodal transport. We noticed that the large unused space at the crossover under the flyover was unkempt and doubled up as a garbage dump; and leveraged our association with The Ugly Indian and BBMP to beautify the area. The Ugly Indian team took it one step ahead by creating a one of its kind walk-through roadmap of Bengaluru. An added incentive for us to develop this crossing point was its proximity to Brigade Senate. This is the latest addition to a series of similar initiatives that Brigade has undertaken around our developments including the beautification of Mukunda Flyover near Orion Avenue Mall, Racecourse Flyover, Yeshwantpur Railway Station and Sandalwood Soap Factory Metro Station. We intend to take our ongoing relationship with The Ugly Indian forward as a community-based initiative for citizens to take ownership of public spaces. We will continue to engage in such opportunities that give back to society, be it redeveloping parks, rejuvenating lakes or beautifying public spaces.”

According to a co-ordinator from The Ugly Indian, “It’s wonderful to see a joint initiative from a concerned corporate, local volunteers, traffic police and BBMP to improve the usability and aesthetics of an important junction – by creating a unique themed under-flyover space that is safe, clean, educational and creates a sense of pride in the city. Such initiatives create a sense of positivity that change is possible and provide a good example of government-citizen partnership to improve public spaces.”

The two central pillars of the crossover point adjacent to the model walkthrough road map are painted in Navy blue that stands out against a backdrop of the greenish light-blue ceiling of the flyover. Bold white ‘Crossover’ motifs on the dark blue background act as reflectors with mounted flood lights on the sides, visually reducing the heaviness of the pillars. There is also a visual representation of how the city has grown over the last five centuries.  The walk-through road map is a good learning experience for the public and for children as it highlights the history of the city.

Air pollution leads 13444 deaths in Mumbai in the last five years

Mumbai- Mumbai city Air Quality Index readings, which chart the concentrations of deadly particles, have regularly breached unsafe and hazardous levels. It’s even overtaken those in New Delhi, the Indian capital that’s infamous for its grim, record-breaking toxicair. Air pollution leads to 2 million premature deaths annually across South Asia, which is home to nine of the world’s 10 most-polluted metropolises, according to Mumbai Municipal Corporation statistics, acute bronchitis, asthma and pneumonia have recorded 13,444 total deaths in the last five years. Due to sulfur dioxide in polluted air, there is a possibility of increasing diseases like heart disease, respiratory disorders, stroke, cancer, eye inflammation, headache, nitrogen dioxide can cause pneumonia, bacterial infection, heart disease and brain damage due to carbon monoxide. Due to this pollution, the level of ozone is increasing and the increasing ozone can be harmful to the human body.

Giving more information about Mumbai Air Pollution Dr. Parthiv Shah, Pulmonologist from Apex group of Hospital, Borivali said, “Air pollution has increased tremendously in Mumbai, the capital of the state. Air pollution has been reported in many places including Mumbai city, its suburbs, Navi Mumbai. On the other hand, we are experiencing strange weather such as cold in the morning and high temperature in the afternoon. Elderly, children as well as pregnant mothers are especially affected by air pollution. Moreover, comorbidities, heart disease, cancer patients, covid patients and COPD patients are at higher risk in this time. Apart from severe people, healthy people also suffer from itchy eyes, skin effects due to dry weather, etc. Complaints arise. Children, senior citizens, and asthma sufferers need to take care after pollution increases. It is important for sick persons to eat meals on time, take medicines, and have a good and protein-rich diet.”

It has been observed from the medical field that due to metro and new building works, smoke emitted from vehicles and air pollution caused by factories in industrial areas and carbon emitted due to burning of waste, air pollution has increased tremendously and respiratory disorders have also increased, and if proper treatment and care is not taken. It is predicted that death due to respiratory disorders will increase in the near future, added by Pollution Pulmonologist Dr. Parthiv Shah from Apex group of Hospital, Borivali.

According to a 2020 study by CSE ( Centre for Science and Environment) which assessed four major industrial clusters surrounding Mumbai — the Trans-Thane Creek, Taloja, Ambernath and Dombivali —the massive use of coal in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region is one of the key factors for the deteriorating air quality. According to another CSE analysis based on real-time data from the working monitoring stations, the number of bad-air days in Mumbai doubled between 2019 and 2021, while good days were down by 20 percent. Dust pollution triggered by a slew of infrastructure and housing projects, which have resumed in full vigour after the Covid lockdowns, is another contributor to Mumbai’s deteriorating air quality.

With the launch of Accreda, Keybridge Global Education lays down the marker for its Edtech 2.0 vision

Delhi, February 24, 2023: Marking a momentous development, Keybridge Global Education, an innovative education services organization, has set down the marker for its Edtech 2.0 vision with the launch of Accreda, a personalized career-building platform designed for the new-age professional. With the launch, Keybridge aims to redefine how professionals approach holistic career development through tech-enabled self-empowerment and learning that is organic, structured, continuous, and hyper-personalized to their needs.

Accreda’s launch marks an evolution in the professional education and career development space. Since the early 2000s, edtech has done stellar work in enabling better access to a wealth of tools and resources for upskilling, reskilling, and knowledge acquisition for professionals. While this has improved access and affordability, it has not delivered the expected improvement in employability outcomes for the workforce as its one-size-fits-all approach is not as effective at scale. As a result, all too often, professionals struggle to apply their new/upgraded skills to improve their job performance and career growth prospects.

Speaking on why a platform such as Accreda, Amol Dani, Co-Founder & CEO – Keybridge Global Education, said, “The current edtech approach is very product-centric instead of focusing on the learner. However, every learner’s needs and journey are different and, for effective learning, the individual has to be at the heart of the learning process. With Accreda, we see an opportunity to transform the entire career development and professional education ecosystem. It is the culmination of our Edtech 2.0 vision and will champion the shift from ad-hoc skill acquisition to holistic, tech-driven career growth enablement.”

Operating at the intersection of domain expertise, employability skills, expert career coaching, and continuous learning, Accreda leverages ‘Forever Learning and You’ (FLY), its proprietary career and professional education system designed by global heuristics experts to deliver unparalleled learning differentiation.

FLY’s four-pronged framework begins with ‘Learner Discovery’, where Accreda conducts a series of in-house assessments to analyze the individual’s employability skills, domain competencies, and job readiness. For each user, this analysis is mapped against detailed, domain-specific parameters for competency and employability to create a learner profile. This offers users with unmatched insights about their current position, with respect to the market, and areas where they need to improve.

These insights are complemented by a call-to-action, which provides personalized recommendations for the most relevant skills that need development in the context of the domain or the academic program. Developed by Accreda in collaboration with innovative universities focused on workforce development, these academic programs offer comprehensive, up-to-date, and outcome-driven learning.

Moreover, to accelerate career development, FLY facilitates guidance from career experts that have been brought on board to serve as coaches to Accreda learners. This hands-on coaching provides learners with the tools, resources, and expertise for effective career exploration, career planning, and career advancement.

“Degrees and certifications are incredibly useful in getting you a seat at the jobs table. But, by themselves, degrees cannot guarantee success. To truly be successful, professionals need to know how to apply the knowledge acquired in practice to deliver results. That is what Accreda and its proprietary FLY framework are designed to address. We are here to help our learners bridge the gap between education and employability so that, instead of merely counting their degrees, they can truly make their degrees count,” added Amol.

Amod Dani, Co-Founder & COO ( India) – Keybridge Global Education, added, “With Accreda, we are not building just another edtech solution. We are developing a personalized career building platform for professionals that aligns with our Edtech 2.0 vision of connecting learning to outcomes and results, which will be essential in addressing the ever-increasing industry-academia gap. We have partnered with domain experts, including leading academic experts, and renowned institutions to create an ecosystem where our users are empowered to explore and learn with a more effective and fulfilling learning experience. It is, essentially, a new way of building new-age careers that doesn’t just focus on securing employment but enhancing employability.”

But that is not where the differentiation ends. FLY also empowers learners to take greater control of their career growth journey by providing self-assessment tools for real-time assessment of their current skills and domain proficiency. Doing so enables Accreda learners to embark on a holistic journey of continuous, involved, and personalized learning that empowers and informs their career growth and long-term success.

“The Accreda approach is built on the Three Cs of Customisation, Continuity, and Control. We empower them to take charge of their learning and add value by introducing hyper-personalisation with FLY. In doing so, we are customizing learning to the needs, skills, and goals of the learner, and offer them a guided path to continuous learning that keeps them ahead of the curve of a dynamic workplace. We are confident that Accreda will deliver the differentiation that professionals want and desire, and become their partner of choice as they embark on a journey of lifelong learning and growth,” concluded Amod
