Grooming South Asia’s Political Future: IIM Bodh Gaya Hosts 24 Sri Lankan Political Leaders
Bodh Gaya, July 21, 2025: Underscoring India’s commitment to regional democratic dialogue and leadership capacity building, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya hosted 24 young political leaders from Sri Lanka for a specially designed academic module as part of the ongoing Young Political Leaders Programme (YPLP), organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The Sri Lankan delegation represents a diverse cross-section of the island nation’s political spectrum, comprising sitting Members of Parliament, local government councillors, youth leaders, and legal professionals. Delegates from 15 political parties participated, including four representatives from National People’s Power (NPP), three each from Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), two from Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK), and one each from ten other national and regional parties. The cohort comprises 20 male and 4 female participants, representing the Sinhalese, Tamil, and Muslim communities, reflecting the country’s political and cultural diversity.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, remarked, “This is not merely an exchange of knowledge, but a forging of democratic kinship. As future leaders of South Asia engage with each other at IIM Bodh Gaya, they are laying the groundwork for a region defined by cooperation, empathy, and shared progress.”
The training sessions held on July 21 at IIM Bodh Gaya focused on key aspects of public leadership. These covered building and leading public institutions, stakeholder dynamics in policy execution, emotional intelligence in leadership, and collaborative governance for institutional reform. Delivered through a mix of lectures, case studies, and interactive simulations, the sessions were curated by senior faculty of IIM Bodh Gaya to provide actionable insights into effective public leadership. The module was tailored to support cross-national dialogue, mutual learning, and reflection on governance challenges from both Indian and Sri Lankan perspectives.
Mr. Chitral Fernando, Hon’ble Attorney at Law and Member of Parliament from Sri Lanka, expressed his gratitude for the enriching experience and highlighted that the insights gained on mindfulness and leadership would be valuable in shaping his approach to public service and governance in Sri Lanka. The visit also included an excursion to the historic Mahabodhi Temple and surrounding Buddhist monasteries, reinforcing the region’s spiritual and civilizational significance.
The delegation commenced their visit in New Delhi, where they engaged with senior government officials and institutions, including the Indian Parliament, IIT Delhi, JNU, UIDAI, and NDTV. The itinerary featured thematic sessions on foreign policy, electoral processes, and economic development. Following their academic engagement at IIM Bodh Gaya and cultural immersion in Bihar, the delegates will proceed to Bengaluru for the final leg of the programme. There, the delegation is scheduled to visit leading institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and technology firms including Infosys, Foxconn, and Tata Elxsi, offering them a first-hand perspective on India’s innovation ecosystem and digital public infrastructure.
The Young Political Leaders Programme is part of ICCR’s flagship cultural diplomacy initiative to promote democratic collaboration and deepen grassroots diplomatic engagement across South Asia. The IIM Bodh Gaya was selected to anchor the leadership development component of the programme speaks of the institute’s rising prominence in the domain of governance and education.

Chennai, July 21, 2025 – Rhapsody joins with Narayana school as an integration initiative for PI Approximation Day to hit a high note with a successful studio recording! This project was a beautiful blend of mathematics and art, brought to life by the incredible talent of Narayana school students from every Chennai branch.
Two shining stars from each branch were handpicked to perform a truly unique song. The words, so artfully crafted, came from the brilliant mind of renowned Indian lyricist and screenwriter Madhan Karky, and were beautifully sung by Vedanth. Adding to the magic, the exquisite music was composed by none other than Kalaimamani Shri Anil Srinivasan, the visionary founder of Rhapsody.
Our dedicated STARS vocal faculty members poured their hearts into training these young vocalists. They guided them through countless rehearsals, patiently refining their vocal techniques until every note was perfect. All that hard work paid off in a big way during the professional studio recording, where the students’ voices soared, making this distinguished composition truly unforgettable.
This initiative was more than just a performance; it was a vibrant testament to the talent and spirit of our students, showcasing the powerful and harmonious synergy between education and the arts. IIHMR University Felicitates 423 Graduates at 2025 Convocation
Jaipur, 21st July 2025: IIHMR University, Jaipur, organised its annual convocation ceremony on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the university campus.
Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhau Kishanrao Bagde, shared, “I’m happy to observe that all four students who received gold medals at IIHMR University were females. He requested all the graduating students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired over the past two years towards the noble cause of nation-building. I also suggest that universities collaborate with national as well as international universities and institutions. By integrating traditional and modern knowledge, National Education Policy 2022 aims to foster the holistic development of students.” Showcasing a powerful reflection of women’s empowerment in the healthcare landscape, the Annual Convocation at IIHMR University marked a milestone, with 58% of the graduates being women, a strong sign of progress in healthcare education.
Welcoming the dignitaries and students, Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University, shared, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to our graduating students. Out of 423 graduating students, 247 were women, outnumbering 176 male students.

My key message to the graduating students is to lead with integrity and serve with compassion. Further sharing the university’s annual report, he said that IIHMR University conducted various studies for the Government of India, the Government of Rajasthan, and other state governments to improve the health care delivery system. Dr. Sodani said, This year’s placement season marked another milestone for the university. The highest package stood at INR 28.56 LPA, with 11 students securing international placements in the UAE, Kenya, Indonesia, and Congo, highlighting the growing global recognition of IIHMR University’s talent pool.
Inspiring the passing-out class, Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India, as the Guest of Honour, said, “India is a very important part of the global healthcare value chain. We provide medicines and trained manpower to more than 200 countries worldwide. Healthcare is not just a system but a promise of care, dignity, and equity for all. Sun Pharma’s ILUMYA® Hits Primary Goal in Phase 3 Psoriatic Arthritis Trials
Sun Pharma’s Phase 3 Clinical Studies Evaluating Tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA®) in Active Psoriatic Arthritis Meet their Primary Endpoint
MUMBAI, India & PRINCETON, N.J., July 21, 2025 – Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (Reuters: SUN.BO, Bloomberg: SUNP IN, NSE: SUNPHARMA, BSE: 524715 (together with its subsidiaries and/or affiliated companies, “Sun Pharma”) today announced top line results from two Phase 3 clinical studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA®) administered over 24 weeks for treatment of active psoriatic arthritis.
Treatment with tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA) resulted in greater improvements in PsA signs and symptoms at Week 24 compared to treatment with placebo. Both the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies achieved the primary endpoint, with a higher proportion of patients in the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies treated with tildrakizumab achieving ACR20 responses at week 24, compared to those receiving placebo (p < 0.05).

These top-line results reinforce the therapeutic potential of ILUMYA as a treatment option for patients with active psoriatic arthritis. Safety data in the studies was consistent with the well documented safety profile of ILUMYA, which is approved for the treatment of adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. No new safety signals were identified in the INSPIRE-1 and INSPIRE-2 studies.
Findings from the INSPIRE studies will be presented at upcoming medical conferences and published in a peer- reviewed medical journal. Use of tildrakizumab 100 mg (ILUMYA) in psoriatic arthritis is not approved, and its safety and efficacy have not been evaluated by regulatory authorities.

Kokand University, Andijan Launched for Indian Students in a Special Ceremony Held in India
New Delhi, 21st July, 2025: In a strategic move to offer Indian students global avenues in medical education, Kokand University, Andijan (Uzbekistan), was formally introduced to the Indian academic landscape during an exclusive launch event held in India. This facility is specially designed to cater to Indian students, offering a curriculum aligned with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines and taught by both international and Indian faculty.
The event in India served as an official introduction to the university’s offerings, showcasing its infrastructure, curriculum, and student support systems to prospective Indian students and stakeholders. The university aims to blend international quality standards with Indian academic sensibilities—ensuring that students benefit from a secure, affordable, and culturally familiar environment.
