Prasada has reached Morocco to co-chair the 7th Session of the India-Morocco Joint Commission with Omar Hejira, Secretary of State to Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade.
The Joint Commission meeting will provide both countries an opportunity to review ongoing economic and commercial cooperation and identify new areas for mutually beneficial engagement.
According to the Commerce and Industry Ministry, discussions will cover several key sectors, including trade and market access, fertiliser production and supply, investment, industrial cooperation, agriculture, food safety, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, digital transformation, transport, logistics, education and skill development.
A major focus of the talks will be on diversifying bilateral trade and expanding market access, with both sides expected to explore measures that can create greater opportunities for businesses and investors.
India and Morocco are also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on food safety cooperation. The proposed agreement will promote the exchange of information on the safety and quality of imported food products and encourage cooperation between food-testing laboratories.
The MoU will also support the sharing of technical expertise, analytical methods and information in areas of mutual interest, helping strengthen cooperation on food safety standards.
