Exploring the Future of Tech: NMIT Hosts ERCICAM 2025 Conference on Emerging Innovations
Bengaluru, 11th March, 2025: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) hosted the Second International Conference on Emerging Research in Computing, Information, Communication, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning event (ERCICAM 2025), which brought together experts, enthusiasts, and their research from across the field of emerging technologies. The two-day conference kicked off with the inauguration ceremony on Friday.

He addressed the gathering on the topic “The role of Computing in transforming Industries” delving deep into the topics of AI and Machine learning, Quantum Computing, cybersecurity Landscape and Edge Computing.
Emphasizing the Power of the Indian talent he said, “India has proven itself to be not just the birthplace of zero, but a powerhouse of technological innovation. The conference had the presence of Dr. Kalidas Shetty as a guest of honor who is the Founding Director of Global Institute of Food Security & International Agriculture (GIFSIA), Professor of Plant Science & Associate Vice President for International Partnerships & Collaborations, North Dakota State University.
Speaking about food security in India, Dr. Kalidas Shetty said, “India is one of the few countries which, if we put science together very well, would never be food insecure. The reason is that we have such diversity of landscape and long civilization. This diversity allows us to be resilient, and that is also an opportunity. MIT-World Peace University’s Groundbreaking IoT Pill Dispenser Revolutionizes Medication Management
Mumbai, 11th March 2025: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune has developed a modular Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled tablet and capsule dispenser, designed for automated and remotely monitored medication management. This innovative device is intended to assist individuals with complex dosing schedules by ensuring precise and timely medication dispensing.

Addressing the limitations of traditional medication dispensers, which often require manual intervention and lack remote monitoring capabilities, MIT-WPU’s solution integrates a modular design with advanced IoT connectivity. The device features an equilateral-shaped container, a motor-driven dispensing system, and a controller unit that enables user-defined dispensing schedules and real-time remote monitoring.

Functionally, the dispenser utilizes dispensing units arranged circumferentially and connected with sprockets, powered by a motor. The controller unit sends command signals at user-specified times, automating the dispensing process. IoT integration allows caregivers and healthcare professionals to monitor medication adherence in real time, enhancing patient safety and care. The device is intended to improve medication management in home care, assisted living, and hospital settings.

Aakash Educational Services Shines with 25 Students Qualifying for OCSC and IMOTC 2025
Mumbai, March 11th 2025: Demonstrating exceptional academic prowess, 25 students from Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) have secured spots in the Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) and International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) after qualifying the prestigious Indian National Olympiad (INO) 2025 in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Junior Science.
Among the qualifiers, 13 students have been selected for OCSC in Biology, 1 in Chemistry, 3 in Physics, 4 in Astronomy, 1 in Junior Science, and 3 for IMOTC. Additionally, an impressive 581 students from Aakash had qualified for various Indian National Olympiads (INOs) this year.

The INO examination, conducted by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE), serves as the second level of the International Olympiad qualification in different Science subjects and as the third level of International Mathematical Olympiad. INO stage of Junior Science is conducted by IAPT. Participation in the INO is open to students who have qualified the National Standard Examination (NSEs) (1st stage of International Science Olympiad) and Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) (2nd stage of International Mathematical Olympiad).
On the basis of their performance in INO, around 35 top students in the merit list have been selected for OCSC and 69 students have been selected for IMOTC this year. For Science Olympiads, the student undergoes some theoretical and experimental sessions in the camp. The selected member Indian team undergoes a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory and experiments. Special laboratories have been developed at HBCSE for the purpose of experimental training. For Mathematical Olympiad, several tests are held during the training camp to provide orientation to students for IMO, followed by 8-10 days of rigorous training in Pre-Departure (PDC) for the selected team. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country train the qualified students. The Olympiad programme culminates with the participation of the Indian students (4-6 in each subject) in the International Olympiads.

Panasonic Drives Environmental Change with Eco Relay Initiative for Ecosystem Restoration
New Delhi, 11th March, 2025: Panasonic Life Solutions India – a leading diversified technology company under its global environmental initiative Panasonic Eco Relay organized a tree plantation project in NSG Campus, Manesar. Panasonic has partnered with CATCH foundation to plan 3800 native plants as part of Miyawaki Dense Forest (CVSP – CATCH Van Sanrakshan Pranali) with the broad aim to transform a part of NSG’s dumping yard into a dense forest. To start with, saplings will be planted across an acre of land and maintained to ensure their growth. This project will look at enhancing the biodiversity, rehabilitating and preventing soil, combating pollution, providing habitat for local wildlife thus, creating a healthier ecosystem and offsetting carbon in the process.

Bengaluru, March 10, 2025: In a major step towards empowering marginalized women and promoting economic independence, an empowering initiative was held at CAR (City Armed Reserve) Headquarters Parade Ground to celebrate International Women’s Day, where 86 e-autos, 2 push carts, and 10 sewing machines were distributed to women from vulnerable communities by Shri B. Dayananda, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru. The event was organized by United Way Bengaluru in collaboration with the corporate partners: GE Aerospace, State Street, Continental, Fivetran, DeliverHealth.
This marks a major milestone in the ongoing efforts to support women’s empowerment, implemented by United Way Bengaluru, especially in areas where access to livelihood opportunities can be limited. Supported by Parihar, an initiative of the Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office, the e-auto programme is dedicated to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for women from vulnerable communities. CDPF and NCPEDP Pave the Way for a Unified, Inclusive Future in Disability Rights
New Delhi, March 10, 2025: Disability rights leaders from Commonwealth nations came together on Friday to deliberate on inclusive policies, emerging best practices, and the future of disability discourse in India and beyond. The National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) and the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum (CDPF) hosted a roundtable, bringing together civil society organizations and persons with disabilities from countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Maldives.
The roundtable featured key participants, including Richard Rieser, General Secretary, CDPF, and Arman Ali, Executive Director, NCPEDP among others. Discussions focused on collaborative strategies to advance disability inclusion across borders.

Prior to the roundtable, a crucial meeting took place between Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Richard Rieser, and Arman Ali. This meeting explored India’s progress in implementing inclusive policies and identified key areas for improvement.
Speaking about the event, Arman Ali, Executive Director, NCPEDP, stated: “Inclusion isn’t a privilege; it’s a right. This collaboration with CDPF reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that persons with disabilities have a voice in shaping policies that affect them. Learning from international best practices and sharing our experiences will help us create a world that truly embraces diversity.”
This international collaboration between CDPF and NCPEDP reaffirmed the urgency of building inclusive ecosystems that uphold the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). By fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences, the initiative strengthened India’s role as a leader in disability rights advocacy.
Formed in 2008, CDPF operates across 56 Commonwealth nations, working towards the equitable participation of persons with disabilities through democratic means. As a full member of CDPF, NCPEDP’s continued leadership in disability advocacy ensures that India remains at the forefront of global efforts for inclusion.
